monorail for under your christmas tree

I remember reading about this somewhere but was wondering where to buy it, how much it is, and if anyone has a picture? We're going in October and I thought it would be such a neat treat to put it under our tree a few months later and relive our vacation

I bought mine at the Christmas store in DTD. I remenber seeing them at a couple of the resort gift shops too. I think it cost about $80.00. I put ours under the tree too.

We actually have 3 of the toy monorails. Two we picked up at the World, one at the DTD Disney Toy store, the other at the Contemporary gift shop. They are around $80 with tax. The other one we got off of ebay. It was a great deal because for about $50 we got the train, track and the Epcot "ball" (sorry, the name escapes me). It might be worth checking out ebay.

We have 3 because my DS (7) is an absolute monorail fanatic. He has all 3 set up in the basement along with a TTC. It is pretty neat. And at Christmas time, I use one to go around our Mickey themed tree... it is very fun.

I just bought one at the world of disney in downtown and it was $70..its really cute you can even buy a pack of more figures for it for $9

We have the monorail under our tree. We bought ours quite a few years ago, we have monorail red (they change the color every year).

We also have Spaceship Earth, the Contemporary, Poly and GF

The model monorails have a big following, some people even convert them to radio control.

$80 doesn't sound too bad! Are the tracks extra? What other figures can you buy? I am so excited, thanks for your responses! My DD will love it

It comes with track and you can buy extra track both straight pieces and curves.

We play with ours all year round. It is a daily reminder of Disney.

I love the fact that it talks too.

We need to buy more track on our next trip. And maybe some buildings.

Oooh...this is so exciting! I can't wait to see what it looks like and all the other buildings that are offered...the only thing is, how do you get it home? Do they have places on site that you can ship stuff home? Is the track that it comes with long enough to wrap around a Christmas tree?

they will ship it for you for an additional cost. we purchased it on the sly for DS#2's birthday. He was so excited.

it comes with tracks, mickey, minnie, donald, daisy, pluto, goofy, stitch, and lilo. plus you can buy an add on set of figures(bugs life, toy story, incredibles) its really cute.

We bought the monorail two years ago to put under our tree. I love it, but DS pulls the doors off constantly. And my little figures don't stay together either. I still plan to buy the Contemporary model for it this year.

We were at Disney for Christmas last year and picked up a Monorail for under our little tree in the room....it made it really special. Cannot wait to set it up under our home tree this year!

Sorry this is so late, but thought I'd post a pic of the monrail under our tree from a few years ago. I know I needed extra track to make it fit around the tree, but it was a pretty big tree that year (they never look that big outside!)

and... happiness is a new monorail....
