Hi!

Husband and I are going with just the two of us in the Roy Suite on the Fantasy for a week long cruise next month.
We have a really nice chocolate advent calendar and are getting a nice port one to go with it.

Our question:

The terms state 2 750ml wine bottles per person, that would be 4 for the two of us. Could we do 6 mini bottles between us? They are those itty bitty single serving 50ml bottles.

Im uncertain the relevance of any of the info prior to the question. If in doubt, call DCL for clarification.

The rules permit up to 2 bottles of wine per person per port, with each bottle up to 750 ml. So each adult can bring on 2 small bottles or 2 big bottles each time they board, but 3 small bottles per person at one time would be a violation of the rules.

When I read the rules, I understood it to be two bottles of wine, each up to (or not to exceed) 750 ml. Pretty sure the rule is intended to prevent people bringing aboard Magnum-sized bottles. Therefore I doubt they will allow for multiple smaller bottles.

Probably your best bet is to email the cruise line to get an answer in writing. This way you can print that and bring it with you— you don’t want to be standing at the port playing the “but when I called, I was told I could bring these” with nothing to back it up.

If you are staying in the Roy suite I would think your concierge contact should be able to clarify any question you may have, I am sure they have been talking with you since you are leaving soon.

WTS it all falls to the port authority, not really Disney. Disney says what they allow, the port security makes the determination when you go through security. I have seen people walk on with a case of beer and say it is for their family and I saw a family pack all their wine in one suitcase and get flagged by security and get pulled out of line. Just be prepared to lose a couple bottles and have to pick them up when you return.

OP, if you are at/under the ml's you are good.
DCL’s limit is number of bottles, not total volume of the beverage. Technically it is 2 bottles, whether those bottles are mini size or standard 750ml.

Beer or wine that is confiscated as over the limit is NOT returned at the end of the cruise.

Do you know what the port does with the confiscated alcohol?

Last time on the Wish, we had quarter full bottle of whiskey in our hand luggage

Refused to let us take it on, so had to drink it, then was told we could not take the empty spirit bottle on.

The bottle was the miniature one you get on the plane which we had forgotten about was in our hand luggage it could not have had little more than 1cl in it

Rules are rules so not a problem, but little over the top over an empty bottle.

Lucky we were concierge so could make up for free the whiskey we had to drink before getting on the ship

Good grief people. Lay off.

I always throw some mini bottles of barefoot Pinot Noir in my checked bag when I travel. DCL Included. They are plastic one-serving bottles and decent enough tasting wine. I've never had them removed from my bag and if I did I wouldn't care. It's like 12 bucks for two 4-packs.

That's because only beer and wine are allowed to be brought on board. I think it all depends on the port and the security guard. You got one of the sticklers.

If you are worried about breakage there is always boxed wine same mLs. There are probably some decent ones out there.
