We have enough points…900…that I can make this work, especially since I won’t be going up as much in 2025. Plus, I have shared that I will do a 1 bedroom when it is just me, so I can downgrade one of those trips to a studio and the saved points for that one trip cover this next year.

But now I save the $1k and can use it to cover a lot of food and drinks during my trips.

I see. Interesting how we all have our own way of using DVC how it best fits our needs.

You have to read the entire page on OTUP. It starts out stating that your situation is that you want to make a reservation but you are a few points short. You can’t buy OTUP currently unless you have no points in your current use year. Not sure if there is an exception if you own multiple contracts with different use year and thus different accounts when booking, but otherwise you have to have used all your current year points and can only buy the number you need to complete the reservation. I have purchased multiple times, including this year. I do have OTUP right now in my holding account because we had to cancel due to a family emergency.

Sure you can - I do it all the time - OTUP have nothing to do with whether you have points left in your UY or not…

I don't see the need to rush. You can't use the perks for another 41 days anyway. I prefer to let them iron out any potential tech issues with early adopters

My AP expires 12/17. If I want to renew with the MB and use points, would I be able to after purchasing the AP? Or would I have to wait until 1/12? I can still renew APs within 30 days of expiration, yes?

I have a trip on 1/15, so I don't want to lose my AP.

I believe the renewal window is still the same with 30 days after.

Since this doesn’t start until 1/12, they might make you wait…but I wonder if they might allow those needing to renew like you to do it earlier.

I just called, and the CM said we can purchase Membership Magic Beyond online. She didn't know the exact time it would be available but suggested looking at 8:00 a.m.

I will probably call unless I can use my discounted gift cards online.

I don’t think it will be a problem like magic keys are if you wait but I’m just going to get it now so I don’t have to worry about it.

This would be during the MMB period and occur during the August 2024 points allocation and the August 2025 points allocation.

They are literally printing money out of thin air with no cost to themselves with MMB. I’d be shocked if they limited sales of it in any way, shape, or form.

the terms and conditions seem to indicate that any owner who buys will be able to get only up to 24 OTU points at the special rate.

Sounds like you will be able to buy up to 24 during the benefit period for however many trips you want.

So, you’ll be buying at the special rate those 24 during 2025, for whatever trips you want…

You certainly will still be allowed to purchase them at the regular price, but unless I am misreading the rules, only one set of discounted ones

I don’t think they will limit anyone in buying because I think they are hoping that the money they are giving up, especially for the Memory Maker and OTU points, will be more than made with the volume of owners who decide to buy.

I mean we have hardly ever purchased OTU points but getting a few half price might convince us to buy a few instead of borrowing.

Yea as always there is something crazy. I was on chrome at 8 am making a reservation as safari I can't see the calendar half the time.

Chrome continued to be blank but after switching to Safari it is showing.

Excited that 1 you can use a discounted gift card online and 2 there is no tax
