If we would use the OTUP for a 2026 trip but book in 2025, would the BOGO apply to a 2025 MMB or would that be a 2026 MMB?

If you buy them in 2025, then you can use them for any trip that follows the same rules for OTU points…which means you can use them for a 2026 trip since you’d be purchasing whole you are part of the program.

For dl, this is an interesting option for those mk holders like us with socal. It gives opportunity for a Thanksgiving, early dec visit for holiday. Or the non mk socal for that mission winter holiday to couple with the more generous 3 day winter and 3 day summer passes they have run over the past two years.

Not a great deal. But a fairly decent one.

Wdw not so much. The ap deal is nice.

Anyone able to find what the expiration terms are for the WDW 5-weekday tickets?

A bit weird to have a weekend start date, especially when in 2025 all guests get waterpark tickets for their check-in day.

I think that you can use the water parks even on weekends you just can’t go to the parks.

I had hoped the 5 day ticket discount would make this worthwhile.
Unfortunately, this is looking like a pure money grab. DVC negotiated with Disney for some no-cost benefits, and is charging members $99 for these minimal benefits.

On any sort of higher travel week, the discount is a mere 1-2% on the 5 day ticket.
Yes, it throws in a waterpark, wow.

To be clear— it’s not even a true 1-2% discount. As, you have to give up the ability to use the ticket on weekends. If I’m going to give up the ability to use the ticket on the weekend — I want a lot more than a 2% discount.

So in exchange for paying $99, AND giving up the ability to use the ticket on the weekend, you can get $10 off a $700 5-day ticket.
The 5-10% off dates are low crowd dates where Disney is happy to offer discounts to boost attendance.

In launching this product, Disney should have tried to overwhelm guests with value. Negotiate better ticket discounts, create better perks (more exclusive character meets, bigger dining discounts… even something like included refillable soda cups during stays).

For $99 you get a minimum of $240 OTUP value even if you use literally nothing from the rest of the package.

This is a wildly member-friendly offer.

Any one of the OTU points, Memory Maker or Disneyland ticket discounts all make it an easy win. The value of those perks is very simple to evaluate vs the annual fee. We don't even know specifics on the character meet that is planned. Frankly I'm skeptical of the willingness of a relatively small group (DVC) to frequent a specific location during specific hours just for a character photo.

I'm not opposed to "more", but also didn't expect thousands of dollars in value for a $99 fee.

I haven’t read the entire thread: where are you calculating $240?

Mind you, I have no interest in a 30 day memory maker.

What value am I missing?

I don’t go to Disneyland, I don’t buy memory maker. So it’s worth approximately $0 to me.

I’m not expecting thousands of dollars of objective value. I was expecting enough subjective value that it made people feel special for spending $99. Moving to the front of the line on lounge waitlists isn’t quite enough to do that.

50% off one-time use points, up to the annual limit. If you can use them, that's a pretty decent deal.

Ahh, yes. But I’ve never had to buy one-time use points.

So again, $0 benefit for me.

Do most members really buy extra points on a regular basis?

The hodgepodge of benefits really makes it seem like you need to evaluate each year whether it will be a benefit that year. Planning a trip to Disneyland or WDW during time frames when you get a good ticket discount… a year where you need 24 OTUP… on those given years, a good value.

Travel during holidays… don’t need extra points… it’s nearly worthless.

The bottom line is pretty simple: Nothing Disney does is designed to reduce their profit. So, on average, most Members will not save money with this.

This reminds me of the Dining Plan. If you work all the angles, you can end up spending less than menu price on your food. But, almost no one eats that way if they just order what they want, when they want it. It is an upsell in disguise.

There are a very small handful of people for whom the Dining Plan genuinely saves them money. They are rare as hen's teeth. Many more people have convinced themselves that they are saving money--because of the menu price thing.

That's kinda the point. Nobody is suggesting a 5-year commitment. And few people are going to buy just for vague character meets and preferred lounge access.

If it saves a few dollars based upon your touring habits and travel plans....buy it. If not, don't.

So it's not for you. That's okay.

List the amenities of a dvc stay that you don't access yet included in your AF and buyin.

Do that with your park entry. Tick off all the attractions and interactions that you don't use, but did indeed pay for.

That may put it into perspective

Many do feel $99 is reasonable for the varying reasons that may fit them.

To each their own. You don't value the benefits. And that's okay

Very sorry if the answer is already in the many posts here, but what are the restrictions for purchasing the MMB or using points to purchase an AP? Is this like a DVC-Y situation, with either direct points or resale points grandfathered for DVC-Y?
