MCO: Rent a car from Terminal A, return to Terminal C?

We're in Orlando right now for a conference at the Shingle Rosen Creek (we took a Lyft from the airport). The conference ends tomorrow, and I'll need to go back to MCO to pick up our car rental for the rest of our vacation.

The cheapest way ($2) is the 311 bus, but it only goes to Terminal A, and we leave out of Terminal C.

If I rent a car (Budget) from the Terminal A location, can we return it to the Terminal C location? Or does pickup/return need to be from the same location?

Take the TerminalLink tram from A to C. It’s free and takes about 5 minutes.
You need to be on the other side of security to take the APM, which I can't do tomorrow (we're not flying out until a week from now). We'd prefer returning the car to C due to the timing of when we can get to MCO on the 7th.

The TermaLink tram is different from the APMs that bring guests from the airsides to the terminals. The TermaLink tram connects from outside security in Terminal B to outside security in Terminal C.

I don't have any experience with rental cars and Terminal C, but I don't think there would be a problem picking up at A and dropping off at C.

Thank you! I've been through MCO dozens of times, and didn't know about the TerminalLink tram! (To be honest, I also never knew the APMs were called that. We always just called them the trains)

Is the TerminalLink reachable from Terminal A without going through security, or only from B?

You don't need to go through security in either Terminal A or Terminal B to reach the TerminalLink. As was mentioned above, it is outside of the TSA security zones. People mention Terminal B so you know which side of the building it is on.

Edit: Honestly, looking at the terminal map, I can understand the confusion. The security checkpoints appear to be shared between terminals A and B (Lowest numbered and highest numbered gates are Terminal A side, Middle numbered gates are Terminal B side.) The walkway labeled "To terminal C via TerminalLink" is outside the security checkpoints, but the map doesn't make that very clear.)

Yes, as above, you don’t need to go through security. Terminals A and B are actually one huge building, and one side is A, the other B. When you’re dropped off by the 311 bus on the A side, you’ll need to go up and then cross to the other side B to get to the train.

MCO has a good website as well as an app. Here’s the link to the maps of the various terminals - https://orlandoairports.net/getting-around-mco/. You can use it to navigate around for more information.

Yes, you can rent from one terminal and return to another. Flew United into terminal B, picked up car from the B side garage, flew home on JetBlue, returned to the C garage.

Thank you, Chirple! That's what I'll be doing then.
