I purchased our Memory Maker package for our trip in May.
Does anyone have suggestions to maximize this?

More information?
We are a party of ten.
Ages 3 to 67.
We have three character breakfasts.

Any mistakes others have learned from?

THANK YOU.

Judge in terms of quality, not quantity. You'll find it alot more valuable for the one or maybe two pictures that get converted to canvas and hung on the wall for years rather then the 374 you post to Facebook with Disney edits and/or borders.

You're already in an advantageous group for getting MM - 10 people sharing will get lots! Be sure to tell everyone that they should stop at photographers in the parks, ask for magic shots (some will automatically do them, some need to be asked). Get them when you're together and if you split into smaller groups.

For your character meals, if it's a location like CRT or Akershus where you get a posed photo before going to your table, that will be Photopass, but you'll still need your camera for the characters who come around during the meal. They don't have photographers.

Doing meet and greets in the parks yields lots of pictures of the interaction as well as the posed "say cheese" moment.

Enchanted Tales with Belle you'll get a lot of shots if the people in your group participate in the show. Same with Jedi Training and the makeovers at Bibbidi Bobbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Pirates League. If you do the shows, they'll give you a card with a code that needs to be entered to capture your photos. I highly recommend taking it to a Photopass store where they can quickly select only the photos of your family. You can enter the code yourself, but you can't select certain photos, so you'll get hundreds, which really slows down navigating your Photopass page.

At the end, download an unedited set prior to doing all the borders and stickers so you'll always have that unaltered photo. But do add the effects! The site knows what area of the park or which ride your picture was taken and has borders, stickers, and signatures themed to where you were.

Have fun!!

Wow. This is so helpful!! Thank you!!!!!

Really, really helpful thank you!!!!! We have a Memory Maker package for the first time too.
Getting very excited as we arrive on 29 April from UK.:flower1:::MickeyMo::MinnieMo:tink:

Memory Maker is one of the best values at WDW in my opinion. We always end up with around 500 pictures. We stop every time we see a photographer. Definitely ask each photographer if they do magic shots in addition to plain photos, they're a lot of fun! Ride photos are another favorite! Have fun!

My advice: is to ask for Magic Shots.

When you encounter a nice photographer and when there is no line waiting in line, you can ask if they can do magic shots.
They will pose you accordingly.
Different parks (and different area of parks) has their own magic shots. You can check other threads for current magic shots available.

And if you receive a photopass card (Jedi, Enchanted Belle, etc), take a pic of the number of that photopass card right away.
This is to prevent the loss of that card.

And Disney Springs has some Photopass photographers also. There are very few there, but I have seen a couple of them.
We spot them near the Christmas Shop and the Big Disney Shop.

LOVE memory maker! we get it every year

I agree with downloading a "plain" set first - this give you the orignal photo to make any other edits at any other time that you want.

My input is that when you are on MS USA in MK, ask for reversed shots as well - they will take them with the castle in the background - ask for the train deopt in the background as well - we did this alot with the train depot and with the christmas tree

This sounds silly, but be nice. The friendlier I am to the photographers, the more we chat about other things, the better the pictures (and often there are more AND more creative poses). Also look for photographers in out of the way places or moving from one spot to another. The only time I've ever been told no about taking a photo is if their camera isn't working (if they look like their on their way out, maybe don't stop them but if they are strolling around it never hurts to ask).

One time our touring speed was the same as one of the photographers schedule around WS so he took pictures for us from England all the way around the lake to where the boats are!!

My best advice:
Be ready to go when it's your turn to take the pic. Have your magic band or card ready to scan. I can't tell you how many times I would see a family waiting in a photopass line for a pic, and when it was their turn, they spend a ton of time taking the kids out of the stroller, putting sunglasses away, looking for their disney card, etc. You save a lot of time just being ready to go.

I was told that cameras on tripods do not do magic shots.

We would always stop whenever we saw a photopass person.

You'll get some beautiful pics!!! I love MM

We stop at every photographer to make it worthwhile!

Ask for memory shots.

It's awesome for ride photos. I have a classic one of my son on RNR at DHS.

Agree with PP to ask for magic shots. I don't think the ones on tripods can do them, and they can't do them at dusk/dark, so get those earlier in the day. It's also good to get some different shots like DD and her Dad walking toward the castle hand-in-hand, putting your hands up with the Epcot ball behind you like you are holding it up, individual shots of each kid instead of just together, etc. As PP mentioned, being ready when you are up is helpful, and knowing what shots you want is great. You will find some awesome photographers that will take a bunch of shots and will be very creative doing different poses and getting tough teenage DS to smile(very difficult to accomplish!), and then some will be one-and-done, so you will have to ask if you want more. Also remember to take shots of the main areas at nt. as well(sometimes on your way out of the park if you are not too tired!) like with the castle lit and Epcot ball glowing.

Once you get home, you will see all your pics, and then can edit, change to black and white, and add borders/signatures/stickers . Each time you modify a pic, you will be able to save it as a copy, to keep the original, but have some with seasonal borders or text like "First "Visit". We have used Christmas ones with a border and message as our photo card, just uploading it to CVS etc. By the end you may have twice as many photos as what you started with, and you will be able to download all of them. With your large group, you should all be linked on MDE as friends so you can see all the photos, and whoever makes the account can set up a password, and then if there is more than one family, each can go into the account using that to do the editing of their pics, and then the main person can do the download and can separate pics onto a flash drive for others if needed.

Be sure to check to make sure all your photos are there when you look through, and if not call to have them find them. I have had a few missing before, but last time we went in Dec. I was missing a lot, which I noticed at first only because we met Chewy and Vadar, and the Chewy pics did not show up after I had seen DD and Vadar. Then I got to BBB, and was not only missing pics of the end where they do the reveal and sprinkle the pixie dust, but also had sets of pics of three other girls! Needless to say, I then went day by day and thought of 3 other spots we had gotten pics that weren't appearing. Did have to call twice, as some did not come through the first time. Just an FYI, they told me to check the computer, because sometimes they are not able to be seen on the app correctly.

Memory Maker is GREAT! We always get it!
Make sure to stop by every single photographer you find or only the areas/lands/positions/scenery you like the most.
It's also very useful for ride pictures and characters M&G! :)

I agree with all of the above - SOOOO worth it. Bought it last August with 7 of us and for the first vacation - I was actually IN the pictures :). Also - if you have 10 - could you possibly spit the cost between a few families perhaps? We pre-paid it for this trip (in June) and it was on $149 - so divided by a few families (who get ALL the pictures anyways) is very cost-effective.

Tell every photographer that you have Memory Maker. I think sometimes they take more pictures when they know. I especially noticed that at character greetings--they will take a whole sequence of shots, not just the posed one with the character.

Oh - they definitely took tons of pictures at our meet and greets - besides the "posed" ones.

Buying Memory Maker for the first time this summer (yippee!). For ride photos, do you just stop by the photo shop at the end of the ride to get your magic band scanned? Thanks :)

You don't need to do that!
It links the picture automatically to the memory maker on the magic band! :)

Take pictures at every photopass photographer you meet.

I am not sure I otherwise understand the question :)
