So I wanted the Goofy, which I ran this year, but had to settle for the half and the full separately. For people who were able to snag a challenge registration and convert individual races—how did you do it? Just register for challenge and then email RD?
For the 2024 Wine and Dine, my wife and I were originally only going to do the 5k and 10k, but during registration, I managed to get her signed up for both, then the 10k sold out and in my panic, registered myself for the 5k and the challenge, so that I too had the 10k. Then I logged into her account, in the registration was able to modify her 10k to the challenge before everything sold out. To do that there was a button for "Registration Options", then "Switch Categories" and since the Challenge was still available I was able to switch. When I looked at the charges, her total was about $48 more than mine.
Then for the 2025 Marathon Weekend, we were going to sign up for 5k, 10k, and the half marathon, but everything sold out so fast, we were only able to register for the 10k, then in July (using telegram notifications and being online at the right moment) we were able to register for the Dopey Challenge. Knowing we only had seconds to do it, we did not try to go into our accounts and use the switch categories option, it would have taken too long. We quickly completed the registrations then later emailed runDisney to cancel the individual 10k's. We were refunded the 10k fee (less 45.00 each for "processing fee") on gift cards.
I am now realizing that might have been the moment when we began doing all of the challenges...hmmm....
So I would say, if you could grab a challenge registration, you should be able to cancel the other two, but will most likely have a fee (probably 45x2).
