List of restaurants/stores on property that do NOT accept Disney gift cards

Does anyone know of a page where you can view restaurants/stores that are on Disney property that do NOT accept Disney gift cards as a form of payment. I am aware of a few restaurants like Shula's Steakhouse for example that do not accept the Disney gift card for payment but I was just wondering if there's a site that lists every single establishment where Disney gift cards are NOT accepted. Thanks in advance.

It seems that list constantly changes, as restaurants update or change their systems. Here's a similar question from these boards from 4 years ago with the same question:

https://www.disboards.com/threads/ts-restaurants-that-dont-accept-disney-gift-cards.3073769/

Their question seemed to center on Wolfgang Puck and Yak & Yeti, and they were having trouble with a consensus. :D

Best bet is to either call the restaurants that you're interested in and ask them, or just put the charges onto your hotel bill, if you're staying onsite, and then pay with your Disney Gift Card at your hotel's lobby.

I have never seen a list of all the places that will or will not accept Disney gift cards because most likely it will change frequently. If you are staying onsite at a Disney owned resort you can use your magic band at the restaurants and shops to charge back to your room. You will need a credit card on file, but you can go to the front desk and use gift cards to pay off what you have charged to the room. Just make sure you stop by the front desk before you reach your room's charging limit or your credit card on file will be charged.

Some of the places and situations where you cannot use gift cards that I can think of: None of the restaurants and shops in the Swan & Dolphin will accept them except for the Disney operated gift shop in the lobby. Same inside Shades of Green. Not specific places, but in the parks any place that has credit card capabilities will accept the gift cards, but there are some walk around vendors (e.g. castmembers selling water and snacks walking through some of the queue lines) that are cash only. Most pressed penny machines are cash only. You cannot use a Disney gift card to purchase another Disney gift card.

Awesome! I didn't even think about this. Will work out perfectly. Thanks again.

I'm surprised that this would work. I would think that if you cannot use a Disney gift card, you also would not be able to charge to a Disney hotel room. If they won't take a Disney gift card because they are not Disney owned and operated, I would think you could not charge to your Disney room. But I've never tried it.

You can charge to the room just about everywhere. I was so surprised last fall that even the "mall" stores at Disney Springs had Magic Band readers to charge back to the room.

You are correct in that many locations at DS can take MB as a form of payment.
But,
I believe PP may have a valid point. If the location can't take a Disney GC there is a very good chance it can also not take a MB
I wouldn't assume they could. If I were the OP, I'd call any place in question and ask. The only ones I'd worry about would be those at Swan/Dolphin or some at DS (I think the numbers there that don't are very small). If they take the DP, they take a MB
Otherwise, the other info is correct, you can pay on room charges with a GC. It's much easier than paying individual items with a GC that leaves you with small amounts here and there.

GF called yesterday and asked a gentlemen about some of the dining establishments that we had advanced reservations for. We have reservations at Shula's, Liberty Tree Tavern, Teppan Edo, and Yak and Yeti. I already knew Shula's didn't accept the gift cards but did not know about Teppan Edo. He did mention that the gift cards are accepted at Yak and Yeti. I was unsure about this one because I know this restaurant is operated by Landry's.

Question: I know Disney gift cards can be purchased at a discount, but aren't they only available in small increments (like $50)? Is there any issue with handing the hotel a stack of cards at the end of the trip?

GF and I purchased $450 worth and there was 9 total gift cards. We were able to add money from the other cards and put them onto 2 cards instead of carrying 9 cards with us. She has hers and I have mine.

We find them in $100 increments at times
But no, you can have as many $50 cards as you want.
You can also combine them on the Disney Gift Card website.

www.disneygiftcards.com is a wonderful site where you can combine your gift cards. The front desk won't turn you away if you have a huge stack, but I did get some attitude before from front desk clerks at POFQ and the Poly for having huge stacks before Disney introduced the website to combine them.

This last years trip (2016) I paid my whole package using Disney Gift cards, I purchase 4 $500.00 ones and the rest were $50 from Sam's Club online. I saved quite a bit because not only were the GC discounted but my Credit card had an additional % off of purchase from Sam's. As I purchased the GC I put in one Gift card at a time in My Disney Experience until my balance was paid off, it was not hard. This upcoming trip (2017) I rented a DVC Studio so I couldn't pay with GC but am purchasing them to pay for my Park Hopper tickets and Southwest Airfare at a discount plus my extra % discount from Credit card. You can also pay off your MB tab at the Guest help desk at any resort.

This is good to know since we have several that we're saving. Do you know if you can also loan Visa gift cards into a Disney card??

No, I have never been able to load a Visa gift card to a Disney gift card.
You can use them to purchase a Disney Gift Card at stores (though you don't get the 5% off at Target) and then combine the gift cards

I didn't realize you could use a gift card to buy a gift card! That's really good advice! Thank you dis'ers! :)

I buy the $50 cards during the year from Target using my redcard, then combine them too. On the Disney Gift card site they don't allow you to have more than a few cards registered. (I think it's 5 or 6?) I usually combine a few before adding a new one.

I just wanted to add that when I bought our tickets for the Star Wars dessert party, I combined a bunch of them onto one card to complete the purchase. I had read on the Star Wars thread that you couldn't use more than 1 gift card toward the purchase of the tickets.

With all my ADR's this upcoming trip, I called Disney and asked the CM about each restaurant to confirm if they accepted the cards. Not one on my list didn't.
