I am planning for a group of 20 people to go to Walt Disney World in September and ahead of the 7 day booking window since they are on property, I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts or experience with booking 20 people in one group with this new system? Is it similar to dining in a way that would make it near impossible to book that many guests at once. My concern with splitting the guests is that they will have a hard time coordinating the same rides and it will split them up in the parks, which would not be ideal. Thank you in advance for any insight.

A poster on the main thread about Planning for LL was able to book for a group of 21. They noted that the maximum Group that LLMP and/or LLSP supported was a group of 20 in a single purchase.

It really depends on how long your trip is for when making the Initial purchases. If you book when your initial 7 day before resort stay booking window starts you should be able to get a group of 20 scheduled for the 3 initial LLMP selections and any LLSP selections per park day.

@princesswahooey posted the following:
Yes, on the 24th, we actually had 4 of us on different accounts booking for our large party for 4 park days.

If you are able to split the initial purchase across multiple days, you are able to have a person to schedule for a single day for the linked Group.

You can book 20 for lightning lane at once now. I suggest having one person in charge of booking for the entire group so you all have the same return windows. You can have multiple people book at the same time from separate accounts. For example, have 1 person book Monday at Magic Kingdom for all 20 while another person books Tuesday at Epcot for the group. Just make sure everyone in your group is connected and has eligible tickets and the same hotel booking eligibility. You will also want to make sure you are using a credit card that won't "detect fraud" because you'll waste time trying to verify that it's you and probably have to re-do the booking. To be safest, I suggest a gift card. Buying 20 lightning Lanes will be about $400 and most credit cards are going to flag it. If you have more questions about big group dynamics, shoot me a DM.

Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback. I sent this question to a cast member via the online chat with Disney and they recommend to split the group up as much as possible to be able to better book rides. I feel like this would be a huge pain and my group would be split up in the parks all day, but also dont want it to end up being like dining and looking for a reservation that large is next to impossible.

Yeah, obviously it is harder to get last minute "refresh" lightning lane picks while you're in the parks, but definitely for pre-booking your 3 ahead of time it is totally better to do it as a group. I was worried about availability when pulling later passes, but it was not an issue at all. We pulled everything we wanted to after we used the first one. The cast member was speaking theoretically, but I know from experience. Especially in September when crowds are not that bad, you're way better off booking together than trying to coordinate overlapping return times.
