Hi!
My family of 5 will be arriving around 12:30 AM Friday morning in March (Spring break time). We need a place to stay that night before our DVC at the Poly becomes available the next night. Suggestions? I was thinking of finding a place that offers free shuttle service from airport to hotel and then wake the next morning and find a transportation service to bring us to the Poly. Any other ideas??
Thank you!

We are in a similar situation arriving 11:20pm the night before our DVC. I looked at staying at Hyatt at the airport but ultimately decided on a studio at our DVC resort the night before since one became available. We will transfer to our other unit the next day. Have you checked the Hyatt at MCO?

No, I have not checked into anything and I am SOOOOO last minute now!

If I wasn’t staying at the airport Hyatt I’d just want to get to Disney, by the time you kill 20 mins trying to get your airport hotel shuttle you could be halfway to Disney (especially given the lack of traffic that late at night). I’d pick up a night at a value or near to WDW hotel. Value would be my preference for one night to have Disney move the bags so I could get straight to vacay.

I'd choose the Hyatt, and have done so on a few occasions. At 12:30am you don't want to be going anywhere except to bed. Pack what you need in a carry-on or a first-night only bag so you're not rummaging through all of your stuff looking for your toothbrush and sleepwear. When you get up the next morning you have all the transportation options available.

So, where is your crew coming in from? I’m West Coast so landing at 1am EST is tiring but not exhausting as 1 am is my 10pm. If I wasn’t hopping 3 time zones and 1am felt like 1am, Hyatt MCO would be my choice. The elevator to the hotel is right at MCO TSA, car services can pick up from the hotel.

If you’re night owls or from the West Coast or just want to get in the bubble- I do Pop for my first night. Noise doesn’t bother me for only one night because I’m exhausted and I don’t care about amenities because 1 night. Drop bags at luggage service in the morning, they’ll be at your resort around 5pm. Then hop the Skyliner to Epcot to kick off the trip and use that IG access. All Stars are the money saving option of the values as they don’t have the Skyliner premium baked into the price. For a bit nicer on-site there is Marriott’s Swolphin (depending on prices, they fluctuate wildly due to conferences) or a Disney moderate. POFQ has a loyal following due to its small size and it is just finishing a lovely refurb, if you aren’t planning a park this can be a nice option due to the boat to DS.

I've stayed with family members last March at the new Hyatt House just a couple of miles north of the airport. They have 2 queen rooms with a sofa bed.

I booked with points in advance so it was pretty cheap. It is not cheap in cash the first week of March so hopefully you are arriving later in the month.

They have free breakfast. The shuttle comes on demand, meaning call them when you arrive. Your night would be Thursday not Friday even though you arrive after midnite (anywhere) so be sure to let the hotel know that you are having an after midnite arrival so they hold your room. I'd stay near the airport as you would get more rest. Checkout at 11am there or at Disney.

A midday commute to Disney is usually not bad. Enjoy!

Thank you for all of the suggestions. We are East coast folks- 1 AM is 1AM- but... I think my crew would be fine either way. I can find a room at All Stars for 4 people (would it be OK to sneak the kiddo in? We don't mind sharing the beds).

I'd do this at the Hyatt, honestly. A Disney vacation is a marathon, not a sprint, and the less you have to do on arrival night, the better.

If you really don't want to pay the Hyatt prices, I'd probably do the Marriott Lakeside--I'm a Bonvoy person, I've been there before, and it's a pretty decent business-class hotel with a shuttle. But---again if it were me---I'd just pay for the Hyatt.

A few times we stayed here:

Quality Inn & Suites By the Parks

2945 Entry Point Blvd, Kissimmee, FL, 34747

It is nearly 30 minute drive from MCO and puts you just south of Animal Kingdom. It’s a quick ride up World Drive/Floridian Way to Poly.

What we like:

Price. For Thursday Mar 6th ~$100/nt total = $88+$12 tax for 4ppl ($141 total for 5 person room), includes breakfast, free self parking, no resort fee, clean and does the job. This is our backup when coming in late and WDW values are soldout or more expensive.

I would absolutely choose the Hyatt at MCO. If your flight lands at 12:30, the earliest you'd get to a Disney hotel would be 1:30-2am at best, depending on luggage, transportation, etc. You could literally be sleeping by then at the Hyatt and then start the next day heading to Disney rested and refreshed.
