My son & I (and his childhood friend) found a great airfare and decided to go to Tokyo for a week (late Feb. 2025) from the east coast. We arrived Tuesday evening at the Hilton Tokyo Bay after a million hour flight. The hotel = loved it - get the ocean view so you can see Mt. Fuji. Got up the next morning and went to DL, arriving just before opening. We used the paid "fast passes" and the 40th anniversary one to do a few things, and waited in line for a few others. The park was lovely and we just didn't try to see everything. Beauty and the beast ride is amazing...and Pooh. The curry at the restaurant near Country Bears was great btw. I think we all were exhausted around 5pm and headed out.
Next morning was Disney Sea - also arriving around 30 mins before park opening. We used the paid passes to ride the things we most wanted to see. Got Rapunzel without too much problem. Journey to the Center of the Earth was our favorite ride. We tried all the popcorn we passed (both parks) and that was fun! Again - tired out by 6pm and headed out. I did get all my Duffy and Friends shopping done.
If you're going at a less busy time, our strategy of very little pre-planning can work. Disney Sea was still very busy regardless. I would have loved more time (and being less tired) to see the shops and restaurants. I also had both knees replaced last year so my walking ability is not fantastic. We moved hotels to Ueno and stayed another 5 nights checking out Tokyo proper. My son and I are hoping to go back in the Fall and spend more time. I'd personally spend longer at Disney and spend the first day at Ikspiari, relaxing at the hotel, etc. then maybe 3 days for the parks (two for Disney Sea - it's large). My other son is a CM at WDW so I go there often - Sea is a bit more like Epcot and then some - haha - especially in terms of walking it. We also (especially me) used taxis (& uber) more than most people - which worked well for me. We thought we'd do this quick trip (which was cheap) and not worry too much about what we missed or messed up, we were happy with everything!
