We are looking to check out Disney springs our first night in Disney and need advice on a good kid friendly restaurant. Not super nice… one more middle of the road from a cost standpoint.
we are already doing rainforest another day.
I see some pizza places but which ones are the best?
Or a great burger place.
Maybe a good Mexican or sports bar type food.

Something that won’t cost $$$$ for our family of 6.

T-Rex or Frontera Cocina are both places that might fit your criteria. We've enjoyed a number of good Mexican meals at FC.

I agree regarding T-Rex. As for Frontera Cocina, I wouldn't necessarily call it kid friendly, but agree it has good food.

Or just stick with the more QS type places (Blaze, D-Luxe Burger, etc)

Earl of Sandwich is good. And close to Once Upon a Toy. And close to Ghirardelli’s for ice cream after!

Blaze Pizza is casual with good, fast pizza. D-Luxe Burger for burgers. If you want a sit-down table service experience, The Boathouse is hard to beat (although it's not inexpensive).

How young of kids are we talking about? Also how do people feel that kids would do at Paddlefish?

Counter service my kids always liked Earl of Sandwich. Great sandwiches and salads. For table service Raglan Road is a big hit in our family. They serve typical Irish fare like fish and chips, steak, a burger, shepherd's pie, bangers and mash etc and the kids menu is grilled chicken, fish and chips and mac and cheese which all my kids love.

All of the restaurants at Disney Springs are kid friendly and will most likely have kids, including Morimoto, Jaleo, and The Edison. I think they all have kid menus too. If you are referring to food preferences, that's completely different. Frontera Cocina is the only Mexican restaurant. It's more interior/authentic than tex-mex, and it's kind of expensive compared to typical tex-mex places. There really aren't any sports bars at Disney Springs. I would look toward the QS restaurants. Several of them have very good food and indoor seating; they just don't take reservations. Polite Pig is really good but can get crowded.
