JcPenney ~ Return Question

I bought a great new shirt yesterday, I've been wearing it for about 6 hours now....and I just found a hole in it. :sad1: I don't know if it was there when I bought it, or if it happened today. (Though I don't know how, it's not like I'm out Bull Riding :rolleyes1. I've been sitting at a desk all day.)

Does anyone know if JcP will exchange it since its been worn & the tags are off? I still have the tags & receipt at home. I'm not sure what their return policy is.

I'm no Martha Stewart & there's no way I could fix it myself.
 
That's a hard one to answer because you don't know what caused the hole. I have purchased shirts from other places, Gap for example, I came home, washed it and found the seam had let loose or the knit was unraveling. I do take that sort of thing back. If I washed it once, according to the label, and it fell apart before I even got to wear it I take it back. This has happened to me more than once, Tommy Hilfiger is another one I can think of that it happened.

However, you don't really know if you snagged it or not. So I have two statements to answer you. 1. JC Penney will probably take it back without a problem. 2. If I thought that I had torn it, I wouldn't take it back. Good Luck.
 
i was wondering the same thing but i'm going today. I bought dd11 a tank top about a month ago but since the weather has been kinda cold. cool weird she hadnt wore it. Lastnight I took the tags off aND washed it. When i started to iron it and i noticed a lil slit on the chest area. Its hard to see since in the area theres an area of black thick chettah design. It's been in the bag this whole time so i know it wasnt dd not sure if when they opened the box if they used a box cutter and it slit it or what. I just hope they exchange it for the same tank top and hope they have her size. I'll let you know what happens.

Oh I would never try to return it if I thought I did it. But I honestly don't think I did. And the hole is down the side by the seam. I'm wondering if maybe it happened when they took the ink tag off :confused3

I guess it can't hurt to ask. If not, oh well.
 
Penney's used to take back anything. And I mean ANYTHING! I used to work for them and had to take back UNDERWEAR!!! I kid you not. Totally skeeved me out. Didn't want to piss the customer off. Really? We need a person who returns used underwear!?
My husband still works for them but on the corporate side. I think it is hit or miss if they will take it back since they have clamped down on the returns. And you can thank the people who tried to return used underwear etc...for that..........
 
i was able to exchange dd's tank top with no problems. Luckily they had the same tank top and size so she's a happy camper:cool1: And it was a $1 cheaper so i had the guy give me a refund on a giftcard since dd was trying on more clothes. She end up re purchasing the tank top we exchanged and we bought 2 other tank tops . We used the giftcard and a $10 coupon and only had to pay $2 something outta pocket:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I think if the blouse has a hole by the seam and your just wanting to exchange it , that would be fine . and shouldnt have any problems

I had similar issues with the quality of an item that I bought from JC Penny. I am not sure if I even had the receipt. BUT I had read they stand behind quality. If there was a product not up to standards, they would refund or replace.

Now since that time, they did change the receipts to say something like a 30 day refund.....but check online or customer service for that guarantee.

I bought a casual t-shirt at SAMs and wore it, there were tiny pin holes down the left front. I took it back and exchanged. We realised, the cellophane tape with the size on it,as it came off made small pulls that created the holes.....
