Issues with using Disney+ offline

Hoping someone might be able to help. I have searched the internet and contacted Disney+ directly with no resolution. I downloaded a bunch of vides to watch offline and was logged into the app. When I attempted to watch the videos and opened the app on my tablet I got a screen saying I needed to log in. Since I had no internet that wasn't possible. I drove to a spot where I could get a signal and logged in and started the video just in case. I was able to then drive back to where I was staying and watch the video but when it ended and I attempted to watch the next one from my downloads, I got the same log in screen. I wasn't logging out, I was being logged out somehow and nothing I did would enable me to access the downloads (not even putting it in airplane mode). The "chat" person just kept telling me "you must be logged in" and then said they'd have someone contact me within 24 hours. That was two days ago.

Update: No one ever contacted me from Disney+. Still haven't figured anything out. I'm heading off the grid again this weekend. Hoping my app works this time. Endless searching on the internet didn't yield any answers.

Hmm, that's too bad. I haven't really used this feature with D+, but it should be possible. Weird.

It's worked probably at least 10 times previously and now it doesn't. We have no internet/cable/satellite at our mountain house so we watch downloaded stuff from Disney+ Honestly we watch Disney+ content more there than home. If they've taken away that ability I may not renew.

Well, I don't think they took it away - it's just not functioning correctly. What kind of device are you using?

Does it always ask you to log in when you launch the app? I jsut tried it on an Android device and cut off the WiFi and data and it seemed to work.

Usually when I launch the app I'm already logged in and I stay logged in. I don't have any idea why it was asking me to log in.

Hmm...try testing it when offline. Hopefully it will still work for you.

Good idea. I should probably try it at home to see what happens. Thank you for trying to help.

I have this issue sometimes with my Disney+ and it always seems to happen on planes for me - any time I open the app and have wifi, it's fine - no need to log back in, but as soon as the wifi is off, it tells me no internet connection or asks me to sign in again. The work around that I've found that seems to work is to open the app to my downloads page while I'm still somewhere with wifi, then just leave the app open until I'm ready to use it.

That's exactly what I was experiencing. I just shut off the wifi and put it on the download page. I was thinking if it doesn't look for wi-fi then it won't know I don't have it...we'll see what happens tonight when I'm off the grid...fingers crossed...last time it logged off half way through Cinderella...need to finish watching it...lol

So here's what happened and it makes no sense to me. At home (where I have wifi) I shut off the wifi, went to my download page and tested the videos. Everything worked fine. Kept the toggle off for the wifi but stayed logged in as I left my house. Went to the mountain house, was able to go directly to my downloads (didn't get the log in error I got last time), however every video I attempted to play (ten different ones) it would give me a "something went wrong, please try again and if it continues, contact disneyplus help" message. Came home, turned wifi back on then off again and then attempted to play the videos from home from the download page with wifi off and everything works fine. I simply don't get it.

I don't know, my friend. It's definitely weird. Maybe it's the device itself?

I think I'll try re-installing the app next...it's a new device (less than a year old).

I think it's a bug with the app - I have the exact same issue on two different devices (unless it's an issue with Android/Samsung?)

the odd thing is it worked fine last fall (I got the tablet in September and used it in the mountains from Sept-November.) Just stopped working this spring...I wonder if an update messed with the app...that's all I can figure.

I have the same issues when I go off grid. Any update if you have had any luck? I have the best luck with Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Disney's probable response.....
