Is this a change to paying dues with gift cards?

Just FYI after January 15th it will not let you cancel AutoPay and apply gift cards for 2025 dues and then turn back on Autopay. What you are trying may work if you are paying the whole amount on the contract after cancelling AutoPay. Hopefully someone else can confirm or deny if that works or not
With autopay turned on I was able to "pay in full" for my small contract yesterday. Hopefully that won't change after Jan 15.

When I went to the Disney Gift Card site and tried to combine to 2 cards (since you can only pay dues with a single gift card in one transaction) I got an error saying I couldn't do that.
You can combine up to $1000 on one card. However, they are very picky and will only take the full amount of the card. If you have one card that has $500 another card that has $423 and a $200 card. In this case you can either wind up with a card of $923 and then buy a $77 card to transfer to make 1000 or end up with $700 and by cards totaling $300 to transfer to equal $1000. It’s crazy that they won’t let you transfer portions of cards. The cashiers at Kroger always look at me funny when I say I want a card with $38.24 on it so that I can make my $1000 card as my OCD kicks in having it not even numbers lol

Not sure if this is in here anywhere but Chat with DVC is getting me nowhere. Can you disable autopay at anytime and pay off balance with Gift Cards? Or is it autopay the whole time or pay in full in beginning the only two options.

Can you disable autopay at anytime and pay off balance with Gift Cards?
We just know that you can turn it off at anytime and make payments until February 14th. What we don't know is what happens if you turn off AutoPay after that if you will be able to pay the balance with the gift cards at that time. We all hope so but we won't know until someone tries it or is able to get confirmation from DVC if they will take a gift card afterwards. Keep in mind that your contracts dues would have to be under $1,000 if they will only let you make 1 payment with a GC as that is the most allowed on a GC.

"While you are enrolled in Auto-Pay for Annual Dues, Disney Gift Cards and Disney Rewards Redemption Cards are not acceptable forms of payment per our terms and conditions. To make a payment with a Gift Card or Rewards card, please first un-enroll by selecting My Annual Dues > Manage Auto-Pay > Cancel Autopay. After making your payment, please re-enroll in Autopay by February 14 for any remaining balance due. If you are not re-enrolled in Autopay by February 14, any outstanding Annual Dues balance will be considered past due on February 15, subject to late fees and interest, and due in full. If you removed Autopay to pay in full , please remember to re-enroll if you want to continue with automatic payments for future years."

I have always been able to pay in full with a CC without having to turn off autopay

I have never tried with a GC but I assume it should work without issue as long as it covers the balance due

Anyone had experience with issues on transferring balances between cards in the disneygiftcard.com website?

It was fine yesterday, but I'm now getting a "card cannot be transferred error message". I narrowed down the issue to the receiving card - I was able to transfer the gift card into another card so the card being transferred appears ok. Seems like the receiving card is just unable to receive funds.

I tried deleting the card and adding it back again. I tried with a different browser and incognito mode as well. Has anyone had a similar experience and/or have any thoughts on this? Please lmk!

Were there any funds already on the card you were trying to transfer to?

Currently it's at $0 - I did a transfer to it last night, and used the transferred balance last night successfully. I was trying to transfer more funds into it, and that's when I started getting the "cannot be transferred error".

Did anyone else see this notice in their DVC dashboard?

Is this just referring to paying your dues all at once with Gift Cards, and not about monthly payment enrollments? Like, I don't have to unenroll to pay with gift cards each month now in 2025 and risk late fees and interest if I do, right? I can still make a one-time payment to prepay the amount due? I will be very unhappy if they take away the ability to prepay my monthly amounts due with gift cards.
You can continue to pay w/ gift card but you have to unenroll and then enroll back in auto pay.

Once we pass the date if either today or Feb 15th, not sure yet which one, you won’t be able to turn back on the autopay.

That is what has been stopped. You can only pay in full after we pass the deadline for autopay to begin.

They are changing to require that partial payments can only be made right now.

In answer to the question, can you use more than 1 gift card to make up the total after 15 Jan....

On 20 Jan- I was able to pay off one of my contracts using 2 Disney gift cards and a credit card for the remainder.

After I made the payments I re-enrolled the (now at zero) contract (for next year).

I don't think I will be trying this after Feb 15th as I don't know if they will put late fees on as soon as the contract is un-enrolled outside the grace period.

I was able to still use a gift card for a partial payment on 2/14/25. We have 6 contracts and I have them set up now that they will be set up for auto pay May-October. So, just before that is due I will pay off each one by gift card.

That’s assuming that you won’t be hit by late fees?

To pay it off you either need to pay off the entire contract with a gc or opt out of autopay. When opting out you risk the late fee.

I paid about half of the dues prior to the deadline and turned autopay on afterwards. It says the next autopay will go through in June. My question is, can I pay with more than one gift card at that point when I pay the balance after turning autopay off.

Since they have said no partial payments, we don’t believe it’s going to accept more than one gift card once auto pay is turned off and pay in full is required. And, what we don’t know is if autopay is turned off, will it trigger automatic fees?

We won’t know until someone tries. My balances are not low enough to be under the $1000 to try in case it doesn’t work.

The system has never required you to turn off autopay to pay in full using your CC so there was never a risk of fees.

Ah OK so as long as it's under 1000 I can pay in full with one gift card? I've never combined gift cards before but I think I've seen people mention that they do that.

Yes $1,000 is the max a card can have. You can’t choose what to transfer though. If you have a $500 card and a $600 card you won’t be able to combine as you can only transfer the full amount and in this example that would take you over the threshold.
