In Room Coffee Maker

Filters. Yes, we do use in-room coffee machine.
Stayed at Jambo House 2 weeks ago

Noticed that villas do not seem to get Kurig Duo's until rooms refurbed. (Kidani in the spring and Jambo next year)

I would never use a hotel coffee maker. 🤢 I have seen too many videos where they have been swabbed and tested and they have as much bacteria in them as a public hand rail has on it. I have seen and read accounts where housekeepers have admitted they use the same rag to wipe down the toilets, counter, coffee makers (in and out), cups, etc. I can wash a cup, but the coffee maker would require several rounds of vinegar to clean all of that grossness out....and even still I would not trust it.

We just stayed at akv last month and it was filters and it was pretty good, don't want to hear about the bacteria, ignorance is bliss and I love my free Joffrey's in the morning 🤣🤣

Previously all resorts had Mr. Coffee-type coffee machines requiring a basket-like filter. As they are being refurbed, they are being changed to a combo coffee-maker, half Keurig-like and half-filter type but with a cone-shaped filter. AKV is undergoing refurb this year, and likey into next year to finish, starting with Kidani. If you are going any time soon, you will have the Mr-Coffee type filter and then at some point later this year it will become an issue of whether you get a refurbed room or one not done yet.

Welp, I looked some up while I was chilling with YouTube. I think I will buy a maker and take it it with me or just buy coffee down in Johari.

We arrive in early December.

I have immune issues. I am personally glad to know. I do not want any toilet coffee. :D

Lots of good coffee maker info here:

Our last stay at Kidani we had a drip coffee maker.

I prefer the drip coffee pot over the brown Keurig water.

We stayed at VB in January/February and they had the Keurig duo, but it used flat basket filters, not cone in the machine.

When was that stay? As of January, most larger villas now have a Keurig Duo (does k-cups and drip coffee) and studios have a single Keurig (k-cups only).
I was at Kidani in January (the weekend of the 18-19) and had a drip coffee maker in my room. Perhaps they were making the changes after that.
