We are going to be in Disney for 12 days and my son is a avid hockey player, so much that almost stayed home to play in a tournament rather than coming to Disney(Figure that one out from a seven year old).

Anyways, I was wondering if there was any ice rinks at Disney? If he is not in an ice rink for 12 days, he might melt. :rotfl2:

Thanks!

No ice rink on property, but there is one in Orlando not too far away, off I-Drive near Universal.

I wish they did have an ice rink, though!

They used to have an outdoor ice rink in Downtown Disney, kind of across from the memorabilia store. It's been a few years since I've seen it there though.

I don't think they've had that rink at DTD set up for a few years now. I've asked about it in the apst, and I've been told WDW doesn't do it any more.

WWOS really does need a multi-surface ice arena. They could host some major hockey and figure skating events. Since Disney owns ABC, which broadcasts some figure skating events, I'm surprised they don't have a rink on property.

There is an ice rink in Kissimmee, not to far from the parks if you have a car. Here is the website They have a special on Tuesday nights from 5:30pm-7pm for $5 including skates.

Hmm.. i thought there would have been one at the wide world of sports, but i guess i'm wrong... as usual :thumbsup2

It's great that your 7 year old has a passion.....and hockey is, IMHO, the best sport out there :cheer2:

Hope he doesn't melt. :)

I can tell you the number one reason they probably do not have the rink any more.

the liability on such a thing is astronimacly expensive. not to mention the chances somebody can get seriously injured on the thing and still sue regardless of the multiple warning signs on such a thing.

It appears the "Gaylord Palms" does something with skating and is close to the park. Does anyone know anything about this.
