I Wonder if Disney Will Get Mad if We Disassemble the Furniture. Sept/Oct 2024 TR! (Updated 2/1!)

Day 5, Part 2: Some Rides and a New Show!

After our photoshoot on Main Street, we strolled around to take a few more pictures before the park opened.

By the time we wrapped up with the pictures it was 8:35, so we headed over to our favorite rope drop attraction, Buzz!

It was a walk-on, so we decided to ride twice. I got galactic hero both times!

After our second ride we wanted to book a DAS for 7DMT, but it was down, so we just wandered over to Fantasyland to look for photo ops.

We soon made our way into to Liberty Square and got to HM just as it opened, so decided to hop on that!

Once off HM we were into our LL return time for Tiana’s, but once again it was not open. We joked around that Tiana sleeps in later than I do, the ride never seemed to be open in the morning!

We did see that 7DMT came back up, so we booked a DAS for that for later, then continued through Frontierland.

While in Frontierland we decided to finally check out the new Country Bear show!

I love all the claw scratches on the floor!

I think they last time I’ve been in here was maybe in high school? It’s been decades! Funny, the only thing I remember about it from back then is these guys on the wall!

Next up: Until Next Time Magic Kingdom

I don't know how you do it on Buzz Lightyear. I've been telling myself I've gotten defective guns but it seems that I may, in fact, be the problem. I'm pretty good at Toy Story Mania but this one I just can't master.

Haha! I used to get horrible scores on Buzz, but once I found the high value targets I've found I can usually get galactic hero. Although, there are times even knowing where they are I've fallen short. I do think some of it is based on the guns, some of them I swear have not worked at all, and sometimes the car does a much better job turning you away from the good targets that you spend more time struggling with it than aiming for the targets. If you can get the high point target in the first room a few times you're basically golden for the rest of the ride. But that's the one where the car will do its best to aim you away from the target!

I know where a few of the high score targets are, but sometimes the guns don't work very well. I am also handicapped by my husband. He drives the car and aims for the same targets. I never know if I'm the one who is hitting the target, or he is.

HA! And this is why I don't let my mom drive :rotfl2:

Great MK morning! I LOVED the updated country bears show. I was always reluctant to see the old one but I saw the new one twice while down there. So cute!!
I really enjoyed the new show, but I didn't have any real attachment to the old one. I swear the last time I saw it was when I was in high school, maybe even earlier. We'll be back for this one though, it was really well done!

Day 5, Part 3: Until Next Time Magic Kingdom!

We last left off watching the new Country Bears show!

It was a cute show, I’m glad we stopped to watch it!

After the show we were into our return time for 7DMT, so we made our way over there. We didn’t intend to ride it again, but after our first ride on it was so wet, we wanted to experience it in dry conditions at least once this trip!

As we were leaving 7DMT, Tiana’s finally opened, so we headed that way to use our LL!

Once again there was hardly any wait in the LL, and I requested the first row for this ride which the CM happily accommodated!

By the time we wrapped up on Tiana’s, it was into our return time for our Pirates LL, so we headed over there.

Love this ride!

It was about 10:50 when we got off Pirates, and even though we got the late check-out, we wanted to be back at the Contemporary around 11 just in case something got messed up, so we made our way out. Once again we took the monorail back, and arrived at the Contemporary just after 11.

Fortunately, nothing got messed up with our late check-out, so we headed back to the room to rest a bit and freshen up.

At 11:30 we went to the lounge to grab some snacks to hold us over. Got some cheese, a ton of those chips, and a glass of cab.

By the time we were done eating we were ready to go see our next hotel of the trip, so went back to the room to gather our stuff and made our way downstairs where I called for an Uber.

The car came quickly, and we were pulling into our next hotel, the YC around 12:20!

Next up: Hello Yacht Club!

Have a great trip!!! The blood stains on the sheets was crazy, we never thought to check the sheets before, but now we will!
That’s crazy that you said that. I dealt with that at Universal at Portofino in January. I always check now. So gross!

Really? Wow, it's so wild that it even happens, I don't understand how they didn't notice while making the bed! We definitely check now, we learned our lesson!

Day 5, Part 4: Hello Yacht Club!

We last left off arriving at the next hotel of the trip, the Yacht Club!

We swung by the front desk to make sure the correct credit card was linked to the room, and to check if we got our room request.

Sadly, they couldn’t honor our room request, but I’m not surprised, there was a huge health conference there that week (Advent health) and they were fully booked. We did book a water view room, so got that, just not in the wing I wanted that also had a view of the Epcot fireworks.

The good news is, our room was ready right away! So we headed up there to unpack a bit.

Around 1:00 it was time to head out for our next adventure in Epcot!

On the walk over, mom suddenly remembered that she hadn’t locked the safe in the room, I offered to turn around and go back, but she refused. I didn’t think it was a big deal, especially since our room wasn’t going to be serviced that afternoon, but even though my mom refused to go back and lock the safe, she also refused to let it go. The entire walk to Epcot, and through Epcot to Guardians, she was panicking about the safe not being locked. It was very annoying, I kept offering to run back and lock it, but she refused. While I love my mom, she does get into these moods where nothing will appease her, and this was just one of those days.

We made our way to Guardians where we had the prebooked LL.

This time we got I Ran. Still no Disco. Seriously, it’s a rumor that song exists! :rotfl2:

By the time we got off the ride, my mom had settled down and stopped bringing up the safe, phew!

We were getting hungry after the ride, so decided to stop at one of our favorite booths, Flavors from Fire.

Here we both got the burger, I got the corned beef, and we both got the swine brine!

Everything was soooo good! Seriously, this booth is one of the best. After years of avoiding the Swine Brine we finally tried it last year and were shocked at how good it was!

After eating we strolled towards WS with our drinks, and of course had to stop at a photopass photographer to show off our yummy drinks!

We then made our way to Australia where mom wanted to get the lamb.

We got that, and I picked up the shiraz, then we headed off to find a table. We wandered around for a while, but there are zero tables in that area (not just empty tables, like there are no tables at all!), so we ended up finding an out of the way trash can to eat on.

Did you even go to Food and Wine if you didn’t eat off a trash can??

Now my mom loves lamb, so was super excited for this dish, but sadly this year it was pretty bad. She said it was just doused in salt, so much it was disgusting. It’s too bad, I feel like she probably just got a bad batch since I’ve seen other reviews saying how good it was this year. Oh well, she got more lamb later in the trip to make up for this one!

Next up: More Epcot Fun!

Day 5, Part 5: More Epcot Fun!

We last left off eating our goodies from Australia.

Once we were done eating we were into our return time for the Soarin’ LL I had booked earlier that morning, so we made our way over there.

This time we were assigned B2, so close to the best!

By the time we got off Soarin we were getting tired, so decided to make our way towards the exit.

I had booked a DAS for Remy earlier, so we made a detour over there to ride that before heading out.

We were shocked when we got there to see how empty the area was, and the LL was deserted! We were the only two people in it!

Epcot was gloriously uncrowded this day, in retrospect we probably should have stayed a bit longer to enjoy it!

Once off Remy we stopped at the photopass photographer by the fountain to get some pictures since there was no line.

We did make a solid game time decision before heading out, since Epcot was so empty, I guessed that Les Halles would also be pretty empty, so we headed over there to check it out, and sure enough, there was no one there! :cool1:

So we headed in to grab some goodies for our breakfast the following day! We both ended up getting the chocolate croissant.

We then swung by the wine store and picked up a bottle of wine for the room. (man I missed club level already!)

Finally we made our way out and back to the YC for a much needed break, and to finish unpacking.

Next up: Flying Fish!

Day 5, Part 6: Flying Fish!

We last left off resting a bit before dinner.

For this evening, we were eating at the Flying Fish!

We recently rediscovered Flying Fish after a long hiatus, and it has become one of our go-tos now. It is really just so good!

Around 5:40 we made our way out of the YC and made the quick walk over to the Boardwalk. We arrived at 5:50 and were seated soon after.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the table we got, it was right at the entrance, so in a very high traffic area, but fortunately there weren’t a ton of people coming and going so in the end it wasn’t too bad.

Here I knew I wanted to get the NY Strip again, last time we ate here I got it and it was amazing, best steak I’ve had on Disney property! My mom decided she also needed to try it after hearing my rave reviews.

So for food we were set. But when it came to figuring out what to drink, we were stumped.

Originally, I ordered a bottle of I believe shiraz, but we were informed they had run out of that bottle. So we went back to the wine list to figure out what to order. Now, we didn’t want to spend a fortune, we were hoping to keep the bottle price under $80, which is not easy here. Most bottles are well over $100, with only a few less than $100, and those that are, are mostly whites and we wanted a red.

So after a few minutes of seeing us struggle to pick something out, the waiter came over to help and asked what kind of wine I liked, so I told him we wanted red, and preferred very dry reds. So he recommended a few, but they were all like $150+, which was a bit more than we wanted to spend. So we told him we needed a bit more time.

Well, a minute later he comes back to the table with 6 wine glasses and tells us we’re going to do a tasting!

OMG, we were floored! He then brought out three bottles of red he thought we’d like, including one that I had just noticed right before he came over that I wanted to get since it is one of my favorites.

Now, I took a picture of all the bottles and glasses lined up, but somehow it has disappeared from my phone, ugh.

Anyways, he poured both my mom and I a small glass of each of the bottles for us to try. One was way too sweet for us, but the other two were delicious. In the end we picked the one I had noticed, the Stags Leap petite sirah. This is actually one of my favorite bottles to get at home, so I was thrilled they had it there!

It was such amazing service, I still can’t believe they let us try all that wine!

Soon after picking our wine, the bread service and our steaks came out!

Once again it was phenomenal. Seriously, they know how to do steak here. Oh, and we found out their secret (or at least one of them), to get the amazing crust on the steak, they actually coat it with ground rice before cooking! Never even knew that was a thing, but apparently it gives it that perfectly charred crust!

Also, comparing this NY Strip at the Flying Fish to the one I had the previous night at Narcoossee's, the one at Flying Fish won hands down. While the one at Narcoossee’s was good, it didn’t come close to being as good as the one at Flying Fish!

Once we finished eating our entrees we were stuffed, so declined dessert, but our waiter wasn’t done with surprises just yet!

He ended up bringing out a dessert for us to share on the house!

This was so good, we were so appreciative of this CM. We’ve had the best service at Flying Fish, they’re just so amazing over there.

Finally we wrapped up, settled the bill, then made our way out.

It had started to rain a bit, but since we were heading back to the hotel we didn’t mind getting wet. We did end up going in through the BC though to get out of the rain a bit earlier!

Before heading up to the room we swung by the front desk to request some extra cups for the room for our wine. The guy at the front desk was awesome and offered to have actual wine glasses brought up! We’ve never had that offered before, it was so cool! He said someone would be up with them in a bit.

We then quickly popped into the store to grab the refillable mugs, some chocolate for the room, and I also picked up the YC ears that I had my eyes on!

After shopping we made our way upstairs to the room, and within minutes a CM was at the door with 4 wine glasses for us!

We ended up sitting out on the balcony with some wine for a bit enjoying our beautiful view!

Eventually we settled into bed with some chocolate and turned on the tv to find something to watch. A movie was just starting, so I told my mom that I really hoped it would be Hocus Pocus, and sure enough it ended up being Hocus Pocus! What a perfect night!

Next up: Back to Breaking Everything

That isn't my favorite water view room. At least it was close to the lobby.
Did you even go to Food and Wine if you didn’t eat off a trash can??
Nope! ;)
Now my mom loves lamb, so was super excited for this dish, but sadly this year it was pretty bad.
The picture you posted makes the lamb look unappetizing. I can see why is wasn't good.
Once off Remy we stopped at the photopass photographer by the fountain to get some pictures since there was no line.
It looks pretty empty back there.

That was super nice. You had a great waiter. :)
We ended up sitting out on the balcony with some wine for a bit enjoying our beautiful view!
It was a better view at night than the daytime. :)

This time we got I Ran. Still no Disco. Seriously, it’s a rumor that song exists! :rotfl2:
LOL I feel like we get Disco ALL the time!
We recently rediscovered Flying Fish after a long hiatus, and it has become one of our go-tos now. It is really just so good!
Isn't it so good?! we love Flying Fish
Also, comparing this NY Strip at the Flying Fish to the one I had the previous night at Narcoossee's, the one at Flying Fish won hands down. While the one at Narcoossee’s was good, it didn’t come close to being as good as the one at Flying Fish!
100% agree after doing Narcoosee's for the first time this most recent trip. Flying Fish wins!

That isn't my favorite water view room. At least it was close to the lobby.
Yeah, not our favorite water view either. I didn't like how close the wings surrounding us were, we felt a bit like we were in a cave looking out!
Haha, right?
The picture you posted makes the lamb look unappetizing. I can see why is wasn't good.
Yeah, I really think we just got a bad one, maybe they forgot they already salted it and salted again? I had seen so many rave reviews about it this year it was surprising how bad it was!
It looks pretty empty back there.
It was so quiet back there this day! Epcot felt empty this day, I wish we stayed longer to enjoy!
That was super nice. You had a great waiter. :)
He was amazing, he really spoiled us!
It was a better view at night than the daytime. :)
Haha, it helps that I zoomed in! :rotfl:

LOL I feel like we get Disco ALL the time!
It's so weird, I feel like so many people keep getting the same song, like for us it used to be September, but this trip we got I Ran almost every ride. Hopefully we'll finally get Disco this next trip!
Isn't it so good?! we love Flying Fish
It really is, I can't believe we stopped eating there for so long, but now we try to fit it in each trip. I can't wait to be back!
100% agree after doing Narcoosee's for the first time this most recent trip. Flying Fish wins!
Yeah, I was surprised, I thought I'd like Narcoossee's more, and while it was good, it wasn't close to Flying Fish!

Happy New Year everyone!!!

Just popping in with a RL update. So our FArts trip is coming up so fast. I can't believe in just over 2 weeks we'll be back in Disney World! I'm so excited, after my last FArts trip I've been really wanting to go back, and I'm thrilled that this trip my mom will be joining me! I have a feeling she is going to love this festival. Now if only they'd release all the info about it, I can't wait to see if some of my favorite food items will return this year!

We've also started getting into the planning for my birthday trip. We're going the first week of June, and I'm currently flying down the day after F&G ends, but now I'm considering flying down a day early to get a tinsy taste of F&G on the last day. I dunno, it's expensive to board my dog even one extra night, so I'm on the fence right now.

We're also heavily debating where to eat for my birthday dinner. I'd love to go back to Takumi Tei since they changed the menu yet again, but my mom has never had sushi before so I don't think it would be a good idea to spend that much money on something she may not even like. So does anyone have any thoughts on other possible places? We're thinking of Monsieur Paul again, or maybe if we can get it, Victoria and Alberts but the main dining room this time.

Alright, that's about it for now. I hope everyone had wonderful holidays, and again, happy new year!

Oh! One thing to add, is it just me, or are a bunch of pictures not showing up? I'm seeing it on my TR and other peoples as well.

is it just me, or are a bunch of pictures not showing up?
I'm seeing that too. It's so random, some pictures show up and others in the same post are just a big red X. And it seems to be in all the trip reports I've been reading lately.
