I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Not sure if I’m understanding …….your friend does not have any Chase cards in his name and he is only using the AU card on his wife’s account the points are being earned on her account. If so there aren’t any points to transfer
this is why makes sense now got it! I will tell him to signup for a card that has no fee to do the transfer then. Too bad it does not help him now.

@calypso726, so how do you combine point pools? I honestly can not remember being surprised that no one answered me on this thread, either. I also never logged into my P2/DW Account. I remember I made her do it once a long time ago, but now I take the reigns o_O . I know on Amex it's easy; you can do it online. I was curious if you could do the same with Chase UR or how it works.
Way back in the day you could just do it online between same household accounts. Now it is a call it in to combine. I was helping out some newbies last week and there was no way to do it online anymore except between their own individual accounts under combine points in the UR portal. They had to call Chase and have them transfer points from one spouse's account to the other spouse. DH and I haven't combined points in a while but the option that used to be there is gone. I believe we would also have to call it in.

Impulsively, I decided to book another trip this year. My latest obsession is Christmas markets. I am planning a 2 week European Christmas markets trip, but that is not until the winter of 2026. I was playing around on the AF site and saw flights out to Paris on Christmas day in business class. Cool, I could knock out a few of them this year on a shorter trip.

I have always wanted to see Paris in the winter. I saw that it was the same cost in miles to Paris as it was to Scotland with a layover in Paris. I decided to test out the stopover option and see if I could get it booked, but stay in Paris for a few nights instead of a few hours and then continue on to Scotland on the same ticket for the same number of miles. It took some trial and error with a couple of phone calls since it cannot be booked online, but I was able to get it booked. One of my bucket list items is going to Hogmany (New Year's Eve celebration) in Scotland.

Now I needed to find a flight back home. After some hunting around I saw some saver fares on AA in lie flats for 57.5k pp out of London so I booked those and cringed over the ridiculous taxes and fees. So now I needed to get to London from Scotland. Easy enough and BA had plenty of flights to choose from.

Once all that was said and done, I needed to find accommodations that worked for my flight schedules. I booked the Hyatt Paris Etoile for 3 nights with no problem. Next was Scotland. Shockingly, I was able to book 3 nights at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa with a castle view room over New Year's eve using Bonblah points. For London, I recalled that a new Park Hyatt has opened up and I booked 3 nights there. I also used a suite upgrade award and we have a Thames river view room. Super excited about this trip!

What is the goal on spending these points? This may be a situation where DW can use them to book something in his name.
So what I ended up doing is I had his wife make a household BA Account to transfer the points in but they are pending now for 3 days we are trying to prevent this for the future, I probably asked him 5x in 10 years to setup accounts I know his wife account is new not sure about his for BA, I just hope the business class avaliblity for the flight I booked for First does not go away.

Yes, this makes sense now to be honest, I didn't know why I didn't think of it. When I logged in on his accounts using tech support software,I saw nothing it didn't made sense to me but this has been a 3 day deep dive. I doubt he made the other 12+ chase ultimate reward accounts I asked him to make. I've had most of my transfer partners set up for 10+ years I don't know how much I should push or not. But this being in limbo and us waiting might tip him in that direction. Sorry for oversharing I just keep thinking people are prepared like most people in this thread.

We're doing that hotel too for Christmas season too! Same suite
Park Hyatt London River Thames in the Riverview suite. I was looking forward to this property, so when hyatt had that point bonus I topped it off for this trip. If were going at the same time dm me we can meet up if you want.

This is why y'all are my people LOL I have a trip coming up with family that do not travel. I offered to get them global entry, clear with pre check etc. sometime last year and sent over the info. The trip is next month. It has been mentioned a couple of times to me that they need to get around to it. I'm not gonna push on this issue. Worst thing that happens is long lines for them. Now if it was a matter of, can't book the trip at all until xyz, then I would push.

That would be fun. Sending you a DM in a moment!

Update for my last couple of questions where you all kindly gave me advice... :flower1: So my friend who I gifted GE to, was easily able to make an appt for GE at Miami, and informed me that it was no trouble at all to walk from her (AA) gate over to the office and finish it up! Took 10 minutes and they told her she's good to use it up one her return to US later in month! :daisy: And ds had to spend about 20 mins with chase yesterday, and HUCA b/c the first call the rep had no idea what was going on...2nd call rep took care of attaching new CiC to his existing acct immediately- all good to go and wow is their expedited service fast! Just a few hours for card to be delivered!

so do you have a list? anyone else in this thread? we love them,
I keep seeing videos passively on the borough market so that's a must-do. I haven't made a Christmas market list yet.

When did that April statement close? 48 months from that closing date should be fine. It would be a denial if it hasn't been long enough.

If there's anyone cutting it really close, talk on r/churning is that it's the posting date of the transaction that made MSR and not the SUB post date like we usually think it is.
Ok so now you've all got me wondering and rethinking my dates..... pulled up statements-
*1st statement and date card app'ed for is 3/25/21 (80k/4k offer) so stmnt is 3/25-4/24/21
*on 5/1 I hit a MSR of $4065
*2nd stmnt is 4/24/21-5/24/21 -80k awarded in here
so I can't app till 5/25 (if still available) right?
I think I may be just a smidge too late

I want to go for the CSP elevated bonus. I was going to wait but will be gone in May so want to do it before end of April. No problem on the 4 year timing as it has been much longer than that.

I want to PC my CSR to a CF. I want the original one. Is that still available to PC to?

Also I have pending points on my CSR. Do I have to wait for that to post before I can PC? or will they still post on the PCed card?

I think I have the timing as wait 4 days from PC to apply for new CSP. Is that right?

Thanks

If the datapoint that @wanderlust7 posted on previous page is correct ("talk on r/churning is that it's the posting date of the transaction that made MSR and not the SUB post date like we usually think it is"), then you may be able to app on 5/2 according to that.

Why wait to downgrade? Do you need the benefits in the next two weeks?

I'd downgrade now so it's done with a couple of weeks in there and then app 5/1.

No, you can't upgrade a card within 12 months of downgrading it, I don't think. Do you have another Chase freedom you could upgrade if this denies?

Ah I see what you mean, I think I was confused on the 48 months to reapply, thinking I couldn't downgrade before then. I do have a CFU I could upgrade in the event of a denial. Thanks for the help!

Instant approval on the CSP! I'm actually 5/24 until end of the month, so was counting on the system using the first of the month for the card to drop. Wasn't going to do it this soon, but realized that I need to wait for the support to post to PC DH's CSP.

The CSP was downgraded from a CSR a few months ago (before news of the elevated SUB). Been looking at DPs and it should be okay to PC again.

I think there's some uncertainty that it's the transaction date, but it's been added to the Sapphire guide (point 4). Link There should be no hard pull for denials due to 48 months since Chase is going by their internal records. So I think there's no downside to trying it after 5/2. Unless we hear that the offer's been extended, then you can wait until 5/25 to be safer.

Finally paid my tax bill. Hard to let go of that much money, but the points really help soften the blow. 143,000+ points I used 2 CapOne Ventures to meet the sub's for my federal, was nice to not have to mess around w/ PayPal. Then I used my Amex Blue Biz Plus for my state tax which I was working towards a sub on. My state charges 3% regardless of the type of card.

so you can upgrade any of the FR products up to CSP if needed? (wondering in case I'm denied after I pc'd current CSP)

Hubby has previously done a CFU and a CFF. I would assume you can do OG Freedom, too, but that's the only one I don't have direct experience with.

You need to make sure you have enough credit limit available. When he went to do is CFF to CSR this week, they initially told him he didn't have enough but he had plenty to shuffle around.
