I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Well, a little sad news, the Daily Getaways site states that the program has been discontinued.

On a more positive note, couple new AmEx offers available for

Lyft: spend $50 or more, earn $15 back - exp. 3/31

Avis: Spend $350 or more, one or more purchases, get $75 back. Expires 3/31/25.

since the other thread is dead I have one goh left that expires end of February this year happy new year to all. DM me your name and hyatt # booking has to be all points or cash no mix.

I recently signed up for the CSP. I saw that there is a $10 DoorDash credit. I am not really seeing how I would be able to use it to save money, seems like it barely covers the fees and delivery tip. What are some of the uses that you use it for?
I use it to purchase Soda and Water.
I select pickup to avoid the fees at gas/connivence stores as none of the groceries stores offer pickup.

15 pack of Diet Coke was $1.81

Happy New Year! Much happier here as our team won yesterday. O-H

CC news - I see another Lowes spend $200 get $50 back on my newly upgraded Biz Plat. Expires 1/31. But for some reason when I upgraded my autopay got messed up. It paid the minimum instead of the statement balance. Luckily I saw the email that said they paid $35. Paid the remainder of the balance. Autopay says statement balance so I'll keep an eye on it and see if it works next month.

Since I upgraded so close to the end of the year, not sure if my airline credit is for 2024 or 2025. I added to United Travel Bank on 12/27. Was fine if it didn't credit. Saw nothing so assumed it wasn't going to count. See a credit now on 1/1. So is that for 2024 or 2025? Anywhere on the account I can see a tracker for airline credits?

Happy New Year friends!
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!
Let's hope that the churning gods are in our favor this year. We were only approved for 4 UR earning business cards and only 1 MR earning card in 2024. We are running low on URs and MRs.

Thankfully American Airlines was good to us in 2024, we should have 365K AA miles soon. Which will be helpful in booking our summer 2026 flights to Norway.

For 2025 we have the following booked:
Spring Break Disney World
Summer Break Belize
Thanksgiving Break Italy

What are your plans for 2025?

Under the benefits tab you'll see your airline tracker. suspect you're good but obvs you need to double check.

No Lowes luck here, they've been so stingy with Lowes offers this year!

What are your plans for 2025?
In 18 days Singapore & Japan with ds
late March Paris & Amsterdam
mid-May Lake Como & Lisbon
Halifax, NS in late May for dd's uni graduation -- will book a few rooms at the Delta (Marriott) using 35k FNCs; for my flight I'm going to use points from a Cdn Visa that I churned; will have to figure out something for dd and ds
September / October DCL Hawaii --> Sydney, then flying to Auckland with ds
November considering a 1 day trip to Churchill, MB to see polar bears (will likely put down a deposit soon); this 1 day trip will cost me 2 nights in a hotel because the departure is very early in the morning about an hour from my house and the trip returns very late
December London with ds for Arsenal match; will have to figure flights because AA & ACs point costs are outrageous, but stay will be at the HR Churchill (on points)
January, 2026 Whistler, BC for a week of skiing & snowshoeing (run-off of a timeshare that dh and I had at the Westin Whistler that we relinquished back to the Westin because the maintenance fees were outrageous and we weren't using it any longer, but we get 5 years of stays in week 2 as part of the deal)

All international flights are booked with points, otherwise there is no way I could travel like this.

Singapore we are staying at the Conrad booked on an unbeatable cash rate (stay 4 pay for 3); already upgraded to rooms on the executive floor; already registered for the 2X promo and will pay with my Aspire card
Tokyo I have 2 rooms at the Hyatt House Shibuya (both booked on points)
Osaka I booked 1 room on points and the other with a stay 4 pay for 3 promo at the Conrad
Paris I am paying cash for a small boutique hotel
Amsterdam I have 5 nights at the Andaz (Hyatt points)
Lake Como 5 nights at the Grand Hotel Victoria booked before the HH devaluation on points (went up 20k / night)
Lisbon stay is at the Verride Palacio de Santa Caterina using 3 HH FNCs
Honolulu I booked rooms at the Ka Lai LXR using an early booking 40% off bonus
DCL cruise partially was booked using a bunch of Disney GCs that I have had for years (I'm hoping to gather more over the next several months at 10% discount!)
Sydney I booked harbor view rooms at the PH; 1 room I used my AmEx FHR credit for 2024 that will get free breakfast for ds and I + $100 food credit and the 2nd room I booked using a points + cash rate
Auckland is at the PH (Hyatt points)
Whistler Westin isn't costing me any cash for the 2 bedroom unit (1 bedroom + studio) -- I told ds that he can bring a friend and use the studio
Thinking of where I want to go after these trips and I'm drawing a blank. I can see myself going back to Florence & Bologna at some points, but not sure when. I'd love to get back to Bali at some point as well.

In 2024, we got just 2 UR biz cards, 3 AA cards, and our first US Bank biz card. We, too, are running low on URs, as we have been trying to lay low for a bit on velocity with Chase, but same boat as you in that we have a good amount of AA miles now, which will get us through all 2025 & 2026 flights.

Our travel plans pale in comparison to some of y'all!! But for 2025, we have the following:
-Disney World girls trip in February
-Chicago in May
-New River Gorge NP (WV) with our dogs :) also in May
-Disney World w/ DH (for Food and Wine Festival) in September [also hoping Epic Universe 1 day tickets are released by then!]
-Singapore/Cambodia/Vietnam in November

Happy new year!!
I had two offers from Chase, I thought I wasn't getting, $20 YouTube TV and Chewy. The YouTube was listed as expired, my bill for some reason didn't post till 1/30 and the Chewy just vanished. Not marked expired, redeemed or saved. But I just got emails that they have both been redeemed :-)

We have Disney at the end of January, and then just camping set for the summer. Nothing else cooking, but I would love to find a way to get in one more Disney trip before my AP expires :-)

The amount of URs I am sitting on is absurd. I am hoarding. Honestly we don't travel these days where they are useful. I use Delta to fly to MCO, and DVC for our rooms, so...

Would love to hear about this. I have this planned for 2026. More than 1 day for me since I am coming from US. Are you using CALM Air and AC miles? I was going to investigate that as unsure how many miles are needed.

Happy New Year! Our 2025 travel plans include a February trip to the Florida Keys (just me and DH), a possible Spring Break trip to Washington DC (Amtrak, details TBD), a possible June beach trip (driving, details TBD), and an August trip to Disneyland and Universal Hollywood.

A question related to our February trip: I still need to book the car rental for this. We're planning to pick up the car in Miami, probably in town rather than at the airport. I currently have Hertz President's Circle and Enterprise Platinum thanks to the Venture X card and status match, although I haven't really had the opportunity to use either of these programs for a car upgrade since we generally have needed a large car guaranteed to drive the family around! Since the February trip is just me and DH, it would be nice to rent a less expensive car and then upgrade to something nicer. Which of these programs would be best for this? Also, I have a CSR and quite a lot of Chase UR right now. Can I book a car in the Chase Travel Portal and still use my status with the rental company or do I need to book through them directly?

A Cdn company offers 1 day trips (6:30am departure with breakfast on the plane, lunch in the tundra buggy and dinner in Churchill, followed by return flight). They are only a few years in business but reviews seem positive. Price goes up each year and all departures sell out (bonus no single supplement). I'm 90% sure I'm going to book, I'm just trying to digest the price.

Which company are you doing the Norway cruise with? Hopefully you get a few days in Stavanger to do some hiking!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

We did not make ANY plans for 2025 or beyond :faint:... yet!!

We plan on listing our house in NY for sale, ASAP, whenever it is ready, hopefully by spring (4/1).

We are currently in Miami where we have been wintering every year since COVID lock down. Once we sell the house in NY, we will move to Miami permanently. We are flying home to NY from MCO in about 2 weeks to de-clutter the house and look for an agent to do a walk thru and give us their opinion on the price range and its desirability and what work (if any) it needs.

We spent this past summer working on the outside - tree trimming, power washing, roof cleaning (moss), etc. We still have some to do when the weather gets warmer... Everything got pushed off the last few years.

But now we need to get rid of all the accumulated stuff inside the house. I had started selling my old trashy novels that I use to read (when I use to have time to read) on eBay. Whatever doesn't sell by spring will go to those for-profit donation centers or in the recycle bin. Not many places take donations of novels that are 30+ years old. They all want recent novels, even the libraries. While the libraries will take books to sell at the books sales, you have to donate them at the right time, right before the sales because they don't have the space to hold them until the next sale.

My goal is to book a trip or cruise the moment we either finish de-cluttering and/or listing the house for sale. Ideally, we list the house and leave the keys with an agent and go on a quick last minute trip while we wait for offers.

Once we sell the house, we will use part of the proceeds towards our 30th anniversary trip in 2026. :cheer2:

I can't commit right now without knowing how long this process in truly going to take. From experience, everything takes 2-3 times longer than we plan. So, 3 months could become 6 months, or 9 months....

Perhaps we list the house and it goes into contract fast! 🙏🙏 Then we need to really boogie to plan on clearing out the house completely before closing. I just can't have a trip planned until I know the house is ready and hopefully sold... Not having travel plans is killing me but I'm promising myself there is a pot at the end of the rainbow!!

Happy New Year Everyone.

A company just reached out to my husband on LinkedIn asking how much he charges as a speaking fee. He hasn’t really charged before so he doesn’t have a figure. Last speaking thing he did travel & food was reimbursed (and he only did it as a favor to the keynote speaker). He did sell a few of his books at that event. He’s thinking about whether to do this one or not.

Happy 2025!

My travel plans (so far) include:

A cruise to the Eastern Caribbean on the new and shiny DCL Treasure in 2 weeks -Jan

Flying my DM to Arizona to visit her sister-while she's in Phoenix, I'll go to Miraval, then return and hop around the Phoenix area and use several different Hyatt FNCs (it's an expensive time there, apparently so I'm getting some great values) -Feb

Possibly my final DCL on the Magic to Castaway and LHP (we scored a cabana on Serenity Bay at LHP-whoo hooo!) - April/May

Cruising Viking out of NYC to Canada/Greenland/Iceland and then hopefully a couple of days at Miraval Berkshires - June/July

I try to avoid traveling during Aug/Sept/Oct ("windstorm" season) and sparingly during the holidays but I'm sure something will slide in...especially with my goals of once again obtaining Hyatt Globalist and Delta Platinum (although I'm Delta Diamond, I don't think it's worth the effort, honestly). Churning is less of a focus this year and being more thoughtful with my spend and streamlining my credit cards will mean I'll be dropping some cards, versus acquiring (*hypothetically, we'll see 😂).

Wishing everyone a productive 2025 with approvals from your bank(s) of choice:tink:
