When does that Barclay's AA card application period end? I am thinking maybe we should apply for one (or two) before the opportunity is gone. Also, are there support links for this card? We have never had a Barclays card so this would be our first application.
Has anyone stayed at The Clermont near Victoria Station (London)? I have Resident Victoria booked for my days pre-cruise. The Clermont is a wee bit cheaper and with breakfast. Reviews for both look good but looking to see if any personal experience in this group. Thanks.
Thank you for the suggestions!! I love my tevas I wear them all summer and to WDW. I was also looking at keens and leaning towards getting them for the kids, but I read bullet ants can be a problem in Costa Rica if your shoe isn’t fully enclosed.
Did anyone have issues with ants?
Anything yet? DH and i both used step daughters link last month. Did the spend in 1 week got the bonus paid it off and she still has not received her 200 disney dollars. Luckily she is not hitting WDW until FEB so I hope it comes soon.

My DH and I both wore our rugged tevas on the hiking trails around the hotel (Los altos), to Manuel Antonio national park, and to a waterfall hike, and didn’t have any problem with ants. I didn’t take actual hiking boots to Costa Rica.

Oh AA Barclays DP- app'd like a week+ ago, waiting for decision, got a call on Saturday night at 7:30 pm with voicemail to call back- so I did- rep was super easy to work with- (I was driving while talking lol) she said enough credit extended with my JB cc and HA cc (both with ridiculous high CL) and then offered to switch some CL to AA card and approve! I said yes, she did it,super easy!
And, in conjunction with the new Disney Visa I app'd for at Disney Springs, and my purchase of a $500 Disney gift card at Safeway on Saturday, I think it was, my statement credit is on my account this morning!
Reading Doctor of credit this morning, I saw that Safeway had been offering 4x on gift cards so I hurried to the website and my safeway for U page. Nope, didn't qualify for the 4x, BUT I got (Chase) 2x at grocery stores for using the card plus spending $500= 1000 points and that transformed to $15 of my next purchase!
Safeway is a nearby store and I do shop there for some things, but I also shop at all the other grocery spots depending on my needs and their options.
The $15 will buy some dog food probably as I'm low and it saves a longer trip for me. Little dog, $15 goes further, lol.
I was considering the gift card purchase as a way to meet spend, and give me 40% off on this particular app. The added 2% and $15 upped it a bit for me.
Reporting back with DP on new Biz Platinum Hilton $50/quarterly credit. I just received an email from Amex that I received my $50 Hilton credit. I purchased gift cards across 2 Biz Plats on December 12th. On my statement it shows as RBG Hilton Gift Card. Credit hasn’t hit my account yet, but the email is a pretty good sign it will credit as expected.

No expeirence on The Clermont, but we stayed at the Resident Victoria in June. It was lovely and efficient and just a short walk to Buckingham Palace. We stayed there because someone on this thread mentioned that it has a double and a twin and that was exactly what we needed for our time there. It was walkable to and from Victoria Station where we did Brigit's Bakery Bus. I recommend both the hotel and the bus tour.
I signed up for the Southwest Reward card on November 14. It promised $400 statement credit and 40,000 rewards points once I spent $3,000. It didn't take me long to hit the spending requirement. Chase gave me the $400 credit today. It said that it would give me the 40,000 rewards points on January 13th. It is nice to have them live up to their promises.
