Speaking of offers, I have an offer on two AmEx cards for 10% back on an insurance payment, up to $20. I am not sure why I was able to add the same offer to both cards (both Hilton cards, and both mine and not an AU account). I'm going to see if I can split the payment for our home insurance between these two cards plus the Citi Double Cash Back (for the remainder over $400).

Is this a sound plan? How do people generally pay insurance (other than toward a SUB)?

Same boat. I have been meaning to use the AmEx Gold Dunkin credit but it just has never happened (yet?). I am sure there are others but for some reason that one sticks in my mind.

Forgot to use it last month simply because when I did remember I didn't want to get up to get the 4 digit code off the card the app always asks for. I need to use it and I need to buy a gc with my Surpass or is it Aspire. I can't even remember which I need to do this quarter.

Try using a password manager like Bitwarden that can also save CC info. I love this! Otherwise, I also would not get up to get the security codes, lol

Does anyone here remember why it was a good idea to put our cell phone bills on an Amex Platinum card? DH moved ours to a CIC because of the 5x but I keep thinking it should be on a plat.
Offhand could it be the phone insurance? I know Biz Plat had it, can't remember if personal Plats have the same coverage. Been a while since I read the benefits but I think they do.

I'm thinking I might go for another US bank card too. I was just denied a CIU. I have three open chase biz cards (CIPx2 and CIC), so I obviously need to cool it with Chase for a bit. I got a US Bank Triple cash at the end of October. Might take my chances now with the Business Altitude or is it too soon? What are people doing with the US bank points? Statement credits?
I have had 2 Different US Bank Cards only a month a part. I am using the Statement Credits for Disney Gift Cards or Carnival Gift Cards.

I have a pw manager but don't keep this stuff in it. Honestly if I want something enough I'll get up or remember the code 🙂

HELP!!! DD23 was set to fly out this morning from MSP to Vancouver with a layover in Denver. (Her and 4 Friends got tickets to the TS Concert on the last night, which is Sunday).

Ready to take-off and some guy notices something dripping or leaking on the window. They sit for a while then after a bit, they all had to deplane. By this point they will have missed the connecting flight from Denver to Vancouver (with no other flights later today). So, the rest of the people got back on the plane, but they did not.

They were with an agent for a while trying to figure something out (also, while I was trying to figure something out). Finally, the agent was able to get them on an Air Canada Flight leaving at 4 PM going through Toronto.... Well, that flight is also delayed and they will not make that connecting flight. So they are still flying to Toronto today and the agent got them on a flight tomorrow morning to Vancouver.

They need a hotel in Toronto. Assuming the airline should pick this up. United is saying they need to talk to Air Canada. No one is around at the Air Canada Desk, so they are waiting on that.

Also, the luggage is still on the original flight from MSP to DEN to Vancouver. Hoping it somehow gets to Vancouver on a flight the next morning. Of course DD did not put her Airtag in the luggage....

Should they be getting anything from the Airlines for this? Of course, the friend booked these flights through Expedia with a Cap One Quicksilver Card. UGGHH! They are so stressed out and in tears. Just want them to finally get there and have their luggage.

Operating carrier is whom to talk to about delays. So AC. I'm guessing this was supposed to be UA MSP-DEN and AC DEN-YVR? The delay caused a misconnect, and UA offered a reroute MSP-YYZ-YVR all on AC?
You may get a pittance of UA points thrown at you, but nothing significant. I recently was delayed 10 hours coming home from a business trip and I got 3750 UA miles and a $20 food voucher. AA gave me $75 in flight credit and a hotel for misconnecting me in CLT and costing me $175 in Hyatt no show charges. SW gave me $600 in flight credits and a hotel in Orlando when they screwed up both the outbound and inbound connections for a business trip in September.

The original flight was all United from MSP to DEN to YVR. Once they knew they missed the connecting flight in Denver and there were no more flights later from United to DEN - they did not get on that flight.

I was the one who found the Air Canada Flight. At first United said they could not rebook them on this - but then they finally did. So, they rebooked them on Air Canada MSP -YYZ-YVR - which now the delay is from Air Canada, making them get from Toronto to Vancouver tomorrow.

They are at the Air Canada Desk right now. They are setting them up with a hotel in Toronto. I said to make sure they have transportation to and from the hotel taken care of (if there is not a shuttle) and they should get some food vouchers, I would think.

So, stressful!!

Wow, I'm glad AC is being cooperative!

I did recently just utilize the cell phone insurance and it went fairly smoothly and I received the full reimbursement I was expecting, so it is certainly worth it over getting a few extra points, in my opinion.

People on Slickdeals & Chase Sapphire Reddit are reporting that their order charges are getting broken up by both when items ship separately. So this may become a hassle.
This is what it says on the fine print.

Chase is only responsible for posting the statement credit to your account based on the data it receives from its third-party service provider. It is possible that a merchant may split your purchase into multiple transactions. In this case, you may only receive your statement credit on the first transaction amount. If this occurs, please call the number on the back of your card. The statement credit will appear on your statement within 14 business days of Chase’s receipt of this information.

Sounds like they'll make it right but what a hassle.

I’ve had 2 capital one business cards for about 10 years. I got a letter in the mail today for both accounts saying that if I don’t give them an EIN the accounts will be closed in order to comply with federal law. I have an EIN from a very old business I can give them but I’ve always applied as a sole proprietor so it’s strange that they are asking for this so many years later.

A question for anyone that is familiar with Global Entry program. So I went online to RENEW a couple days ago and
got the following message this morning.

**We are pleased to inform you that your U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Global Entry program membership has been approved. You can begin using the program immediately.
Please visit www.cbp.gov/global-entry/about to review the program criteria for detailed information.
Thank you for applying to the CBP's Trusted Traveler Programs. ***

Do I still need to go for interview? I looked everywhere on site and didnt see a new expiration date. Thx,

Renewals rarely need an interview anymore. They just run the background check again.
We recently renewed ours, DH, DS and mine. DS and mine, approved within a few days. DH got an update a few weeks later saying he needed an interview but he was able to book an online interview. Not sure why his was flagged.

I'd just apply for a new EIN in the name of the business, the turn around time is instantaneous.

I feel like this is the doldrums for finding a new MSR at the moment....am I alone in this? I've been coasting along, but knowing I have some larger bills next month,I'd like to have something ready to use...just can't seem to find anything worthwhile to go for.... I was letting my chase apps breathe (last CiU 9/2/24) and I still have 2 CiU open and a CiC.... already got the CSR (about to pc) and just not sure what I want next....got enough beloved ihg points for awhile, but my old school $49 AF card doesn't get me 4th night free benefits so I'm considering pc'ing up on that one....(should I?)
