I Like Warm Hugs! - Mommy/Toddler Trip ~ Updated 6/20: New Trip Report Link!

Aw, I love Living with the Land! Nice hidden Mickey shots! Have you ever done the Behind the Seeds tour? Probably not very interesting for a toddler, but Michael and I really enjoyed it when we did it a few years ago.
I've always heard good things about Behind the Seeds, but haven't done it. I've heard it can be good with kids, though, so maybe someday down the road.

The Visa character meet is on my must-do list for April. I have never done it because I always forget about it, but I'm determined to do it next time! Cute photos!
Yes, try to get in there sometime. It's a nice chance to meet some characters without anyone else looking on or rushing you! :thumbsup2

So fun! LWTL is a favorite for sure! Nice job on all the hidden mickeys!
Thanks. I had never noticed so many hidden mickeys on there before.

The visa meet was so cute , love the close up of Izzy with Mickey! She has such a smug smile I love it!
Yeah, the meet went pretty well and she really took to Mickey. I guess, if you can't have Minnie, he's the next best thing. ::yes::

It looks like you had a great LWTL ride! I know some people think it's "boring" but I really love it! And toddlers do too, apparently!

And you spotted some great hidden Mickey's! :thumbsup2

Cute character meet! I just got a Disney Visa a few months ago so I'm excited to check out the character meet next trip!

Can't wait to see Minnie pics!! She's my favorite! :goodvibes

Fun for the whole family! :thumbsup2 Not sure what it is about the ride - I'm not even into gardening at all - but I always enjoy it. Maybe because I love boat rides. :confused3

I wasn't even trying, but I just kept seeing them. :cool1:

Yes, definitely check that out next time! I'm sure the boys would love to have a private audience with whichever characters are meeting there!

Can't wait to see Minnie pics!! She's my favorite! :goodvibes
You're in luck. I went through my photos for the Character Spot and have enough to fill two posts to the image limit. So, there will be one post that is ENTIRELY dedicated to Minnie. ::MinnieMo I mean, she IS Izzy's favorite too. :thumbsup2

As we made our way out of Innoventions, after our Disney Visa character meet, we passed the Where’s the Fire exhibit. It has a padded play area in it and Izzy said something that sounded a lot like, “I want to play in there!” as she saw it. I just couldn’t say no to that, so let her run around it a bit with a couple other kids. Naturally, she had to try the chair:

While she did that, I kept an eye on her and used my phone to try to adjust the FP+ for the Character Spot to an earlier time. Turns out that I couldn’t do it, as it was on Izzy’s band and she didn’t have a ticket, so I couldn’t make changes in MDE. Just the kiosks. Oh, well.

Izzy found a bed and decided to go “nigh-night”:

I noticed a Cast Member starting to lead a group in for a fire drill, so I grabbed Izzy and we headed to our next mission - standby at the Character Spot:

The sign said it was 25 minutes, but we had to meet Minnie, whatever the price. Just too bad we couldn’t get that FP+ for a bit earlier. It was about 5:10pm as I was standing in line and our FP+ window didn’t open until 6:20pm.

Izzy enjoyed the cartoons playing on the monitors overhead:

As we waited, I explained to Izzy that Mickey and Goofy came over here to see us again PLUS Minnie was here too. I think she understood pretty well, based on this video:

(click to watch)

She was really just starting to talk at that point. She talks our ears off all day long now, though (love it!) (Side story – her latest favorite phrase is “I NEED” and she uses it for ridiculous things. Like last night: “I NEED water in my eye” as she’s jabbing herself in the eye with a sippy cup straw, haha. Silly girl.)

There was a mom and daughter in line ahead of us. The daughter was older, maybe about 11, I’m guessing? She thought Izzy was cute and was playing with her. Izzy loved it and kept trying to imitate the older girl. I chatted with the mom. She was asking me if she had to buy the photos from this. I told her she could with Photopass, but they would also take pictures with her camera if she asked them. She was very happy to hear this. Izzy playing with the other girl:

Soon, it was their turn to go up and meet Mickey:

Notice the CM with her camera. Looks good, right?:

Well, as we were going up for our turn, I heard the CM tell her that they DIDN’T take any pics with her camera, because they couldn’t get it to focus. She wasn’t too happy about that. But, hey, if she’s out there reading this, I got the photos above for you (I did actually take the pic of them with Mickey as a “just in case” after having told her they’d get pics for her). At any rate, the CM said they could go again after me and they’d try again. Oh, one more (unrelated) note on that last picture: notice that you cannot see Minnie yet!

Okay, so it was our turn and Izzy went right up to her old pal Mickey for a hug:

Then Mickey spun her around for some cute photos:

Then she wanted more hugs:

And she got a mouse kiss:

See ya real soon, Mickey:

We also have Photopass shots:

It almost looks like Mickey’s white buttons are mouse ears in this:

Since the people who had been ahead of us were now behind us (doing their re-do with Mickey), we were able to move right on to Goofy. Izzy was excited to see him again and went right up:

But, can you guess what happened about 5 seconds into their meet and greet? Remember what I said earlier about not being able to see Minnie? We were a bit closer now and someone caught a glimpse:

And that was IT. She pointed and yelled, “Minnie!!!!!”, then literally ran straight to Minnie and left Goofy befuddled in her dust. It was hysterical!! I felt so bad for poor Goofy that I went up to give him a hug:

Of course, it was kind-of foolish of me to do that, as I missed out on her first few moments with Minnie. But, luckily, since Minnie was available for a double-shift (thanks to our line friends being behind us now), they had plenty of time together.

Hi! Sorry for my lack of posts lately, but I figured I'd get started now with your last update.

A peanut butter tree definitely needs a jelly tree! I call foul.

While I don't go on it every time, I do like going on LWTL. It's a fun diversion. When I took my friend for the first time, she was all impressed with it, which made it more fun.

Izzy is just too cute with the characters. :goodvibes

No worries, you've been busy! :goodvibes

Or maybe just come up with a hybrid PBJ tree? ::yes::

I can see that making it more fun. I always think that if my in-laws come to WDW sometime with us, that would be one of their favorite things.

Izzy is just too cute with the characters. :goodvibes
Aw, thanks! I loved watching her get comfortable with them on this trip! :lovestruc

Continued from previous post…

Here’s the first blurry shot I managed to grab after hugging Goofy:

They were already pretty cozy:

More mouse kisses:

Playtime:

Honk, honk:

I love this picture, except that Izzy’s diaper is hanging out of her shorts. Luckily, both are white, but I did run up there later and fix it between pictures:

Nice squeeze:

Minnie, you see that tall doggie over there? Yeah, I ditched him for you:

Shorts more-or-less fixed, whew:

Sweet dress, Minnie:

You have a nose:

And eyes:

And a mouth and ears:

Yep, hands too:

It was so sweet that Minnie was down on the ground just playing these little games with Izzy! How sweet was she?!:

One more lap picture (at least Minnie looks happy):

We finally managed to break away from Minnie and head out:

What a great meet!

Not enough Minnie pictures for you? Well, you’re in luck cause I have a bunch of Photopass pictures too. I have tons of other Minnie pics I’m not even posting, it’s crazy. Anyway, here’s the PP highlights:

Oh, and Minnie also indicated that she wanted to put Izzy in her pocket and take her home! I got to take Izzy with me, though, poor Minnie. Photopass time was 5:21pm, so not too bad for standby.

Up next: Some errands and Duffy!

Yay! Love all the Minnie photos!! :goodvibes

Good Mickey pics too...but poor Goofy! :sad1:

I love the interaction between Izzy and Minnie. That's so cute that they were just sitting and playing! I think she was our best costumed character interaction, too! She's just so sweet!

Can't wait to read more!

DS is in his "I Need" stage too. Since him & Izzy are only a few weeks apart, it must be something they learn at this age. We get " I need up", "I need candy" but I haven't heard "I need water in my eye" yet. LOL. Toddlers are so funny!

That is too bad you couldn't switch the FP time. I guess the fact that it's a possiblity at all is somewhat of a plus though.

Aww how cute to have an "older" girl (so funny that 11 is pretty much an adult to a child) play with Izzy. And it's always nice to pass along some Disney knowledge to other guests.

OMG that is too funny. Minnie has been spotted... do NOT get in the way.

And what a wonderfully adorable meet with Minnie. So nice that she had some extra time to spend and really seemed to go all out. Love it!

We love Living with the Land - always manage a couple of times on it each trip. You missed my favorite hidden Mickey which is the hop plant that is formed into a Mickey head (or maybe they didn't have it that time, not sure if it is always out or not)

Bummer about Minnie not being at the Chase character meet. Still seemed like a fun time and I love when there are multiple characters together like that

That was cool that Izzy got some time in the play area - didn't even realize there was one in the Where's the Fire part. I think in general we need to spend a little more time in Innoventions - just never seem to have time for it but between that and the Great Piggy Bank Adventure I think we need to make time.

I do love the cartoons they have playing in the wait area at the character spot.

In Izzy's defense she had just spent time with Goofy so makes sense to not waste more time there and head to Minnie. Goofy probably just forgot that fact ;)

And my she does love Minnie! Have to say, if you didn't mention anything I wouldn't have even noticed the diaper, so that is good, since they are nice pictures.

I love when the characters get down low to be with the kids - makes it seem really like they want to just be friends and hang out, etc. ... seems to help a lot with any kids that are nervous at all (not that that was an issue with Izzy and Minnie though)

:lmao::rotfl2: at I need water in my eye. Cute!

Hmm, i'm not really blaming the CM's at the Character Spot, but you'd think they've seen and worked with every camera available. Strange they couldnt get it to focus.

How funny is that that she was like, Later Goofy, I see my main girl over there!:rotfl:

Wow tons of pictures with Minnie!

Okay unrelated topic, I was going to text you but since I saw you updated, thought i'd ask here :goodvibes Any resources for potty training? I'm assuming you started with Izzy already?

Holy cow, they have ICE CREAM MARTINIS at L'Artisan des Glaces?! My impending bill for that place keeps getting larger the more TR's I read... :rotfl:

I'm all for the way you roll. :thumbsup2

You did do a great job of getting photos of action moments, such as Izzy eating that macaroni. Nice work!

"I need water in my eye!" Kids are hysterical! :lmao:

Poor Goofy! That girl LOVES her Minnie Mouse. :lovestruc I'm thrilled that you and the Photopass photographers got so many good pictures of them!

Awww!! I'm loving Izzy with Minnie. How adorable that she ditched Goofy like that! The video is super cute, too. I absolutely love her little voice. She's so sweet.

Looks like Izzy had a fun time playing. Its so much fun when they start really talking! They come up with the cutest things to say.
Oh my goodness, there is so much cuteness in that Minnie meet! Absolutely adorable! I would not have even noticed the diaper if you would not have pointed it out. It was clearly not the focus of the adorable pic!

Whew I'm all caught up! These character meets are too cute. The Chip and Dale ones were SO cute that I had to show my DH. And ditching Goofy the moment she saw Minnie? Hilarious! :rotfl2: I'm sure Goofy is used to it/got over it. You will be telling that story for years. Pure gold.

Loved the updates!! SO SO adorable with her running off to see Minnie!! Poor Goofy, I bet he gets that a lot! Good thing that no one was meeting with her at the time, I feel like she always gets backed up because people spend more time with her than Goofy so we always have to wait a little bit. The other meets are adorable too. That play area is a lot of fun, Aria loves running around it too and getting on the bed, chair, etc. Nice to have that area to do that.

My accomplishments for this morning off so far...1 load of clothes washed and caught up on this trip report...Oh...I have the new prttrippie I haven't started and Aulani from before New Year's to catch up on. Love the pictures. Your time in Epcot looked wonderful. I really want a solo trip that I can take as long as I want to go through epcot especially world showcase.

Aw, what a great time you had with the characters! I bet you're glad you decided to get in the standby line.

That is too funny that Izzy ditched Goofy once she saw Minnie - so cute.

How long did you get to spend with Minnie? It seems like it was totally worth it to meet the characters there as you get a little extra time with them.
