I'm glad you were able to ride ToT that day and Izzy got to sleep. It was interesting with two strollers and blocking the ipad case section of that store lol, I remember having to keep stashing stuff as Izzy was very content playing with anything within reach! Glad she fell asleep though and got a decent nap. She was certainly happy that evening!
Thanks so much for watching her and getting her to settle down for her nap!
She really does love to play with anything and everything. She certainly had a great day after that nap!
Your time at EPCOT sounds wayyyyy more exciting than my afternoon
but at the time I definitely couldn't have stomached the walk over in the heat let alone ice cream and a martini - though they do look fab!
Hope you took it easy and got some rest and A/C. Sorry you weren't feeling up for much - that's just the worst on a Disney trip - not being able to do much even though you're right there.
I love morocco, and glad you made the decision to enjoy EPCOT in the rain!
I'm glad I ventured out. I was just standing there and waiting and realizing that things I'd been looking forward to were not going to happen unless I did it in the rain. With a short trip, it creates a lot more urgency to do things when planned. I wanted to have memories of exploring World Showcase, not of being huddled under a roof in France waiting out the rain. It was nice to finally just wander around and look at some of the countries...and pretty empty with the rain too!
I still haven't tried the LArtisan des Glaces yet. Hearing all the raves though, I think it's time to change that.
Add it to the list for next time! Definitely some unique treats there.
I have to give you some serious credit. I have trouble just walking with the Martini glass when I get a slushie. Balancing all that WITH a stroller?
Well, you do what you gotta do. Luckily, I didn't have to go far and snagged a table pretty close to the door. I was losing some martini, though, before drinking a bit off.
Funny, but that spot has actually been one of my escape the rain places as well.
It's not a bad spot! Lots of room and you're not really in the way of anything.
That was nice of Lauren to watch Izzy again - and great job outta her to get Izzy asleep. I mean, run off to ride ToT and come back to a sleeping Toddler?!?! Pretty ideal
Could not have been better! Of course, I wish that Lauren had felt better, even if that would have changed that scenario a bit. But, yeah, she worked some magic!
To bad about going the wrong way but you still did pretty well time wise, got to see some more resorts, and I am sure helped your step count for the day
So, your comment about step count made me curious...I have a Fitbit and I had it at Disney, so I went back to look at this trip: 8/30 = 22,908 steps, 8/31 = 25,791 steps, and 9/1 = 21,100 steps. So, yeah, this day was the most!
Love the PP spot by the fountain in France - just saw Lauren's from the trip with Aria holding her umbrella in front of the fountain which was super cute
Those were really cute pictures of Aria with her umbrella. And that fountain is a great Photopass spot usually - it was odd that nobody was there and the PP person seemed bored.
Ah, you know my love of the brioche ice cream sandwich but I didn't see the martini thing last time - that sounds really good ... enjoying those two snacks in the World Showcase with a sleeping toddler sounds pretty darn nice - especially right about now with the weather we have been having.
It was quite a slice of heaven!
I actually knew about the martini before the sandwich - I think I'd seen it on the Disney Food Blog, but only heard about the sandwiches on yours and Danielle's TRs. Both great treats for nap time!
I like the way you roll!!! ... well, too many of those martini's and you'd be rolling the stroller in quite the crooked line
Indeed. Heck, at the end, I got a lot of the alcohol at once from the stem of the glass, so I might not have been so steady in Morocco and Japan - at least the paths were pretty empty with the rain!
I feel like every World Showcase area is my favorite, until I get to the next one - they are all just so well themed - glad the rain lightened up enough for you to explore some
I feel like we are always rushing through the countries on most trips and I really wanted to take some (nap) time to see a few of them better this trip. They are all so unique and beautiful. I'm glad I was able to salvage a rainy afternoon to explore a bit. Hoping to do more of that in May, as I didn't get to all the countries.
Ummm, I really want one of those ice cream sandwiches! They have been poping up on several TRs that I am reading and they are going on the must snack list for sure!
They are quite a tasty and unique treat. However, I would recommend something other than the mint ice cream. It was still good, but something about the combo of bread and mint just seemed odd - I think there are probably better choices. I know the Disney Food Blog showed a few that looked pretty tasty!
Yucky yucky rain!
At least it didn't ruin your fun too much! I can only imagine how Izzy felt. I mean for a toddler girl falling asleep in the middle of the frozen fun and then being woke up in Japan, well, there is just no comparison!
I know, it's such a shock to wake up in another land!
At least she slept through the rain, I guess.
I have a stroller question. Do you guys have the Britax B-Agle? We just purchased the travel system for our newest princess. (I got an amazing deal at Kohls.com!) Do you have the parent console? How is the cup holder? It looks like it might be sort of inconvenient, but sometimes pics don't tell as much as talking to someone else who has used it. My DH hates not having a good cupholder on the stroller and was his one hesitation about purchasing this one.
Yes, indeed! And we love it! We have the Britax parent console and I love that too! The middle compartment is magnetic and fits quite a bit and stays closed, even when you fold and flip the stroller. I leave stuff in there all the time - in fact, I'm pretty sure Dug's Magic Band is in there right now.
I haven't had any issues with the cupholders, other than the normal issue of cans of pop splashing around, but that happens with any stroller if you're not on smooth pavement. There are two cupholders and they fit a lot of cups/bottles and they are insulated, so that's nice too. I think it looks awkward in pictures, location-wise, but it's always been convenient to use. Here's a picture where you can see it pretty well:
Let me know if you have any other questions.
