I have been watching Horders and I would like to know how many pairs of Pajamas are normal.I am worried about being a horder, I think I have 23 for winter and 17 for summer.

It depends on how often you change your PJs and how often you wash. I keep enough for that. IMHO you have too many. How many do you wear in a season? That will tell you how many is enough.

Those hoarders have mental illness that is not being properly treated.

That's a question I would never have thought of in a million years! :goodvibes
I don't know if there's a correct answer to that, lol.
That IS a lot of pjs! I just wear tshirts and shorts so I can't really answer how many I have.
I wouldn't think that you are a hoarder just based on the amount of pjs you have. :upsidedow
I guess you'll not run out, that's for sure! :laundy:

Not sure about the hoarding thing- I think that has a lot more to do with how much stuff you have overall. But it does sound excessive. I also wear just shorts & T-shirts, but if you do laundry every week, I wouldn't think that you would need more than 7 if you change them every night.

I think I have about 10 winter / 10 summer and 3-4 "nice" nighties. I don't think you're a hoarder. Just take a look at what you use, and toss (or donate) the things you don't wear. I have enough to rotate for 2 weeks because I don't want mine to wear out faster by washing and drying every week. :thumbsup2

Wow! That is a lot of pajamas. I have 3 that I wear year round. I'm a minimalist, though. I would think anything over 7 pair would be a lot. With 7 more if you live in a region where you need warmer ones for winter. We can wear the same ones year round.

As far as if you're hoarding, do you have excessive amounts of other things?

I have maybe 5 sets but only wear a couple regularly.

My girlfriend has 7 sets each for each of her 4 boys. They never wear anything more than once before it gets thrown in the laundry. I'm not organized enough to do that much laundry! It's hard enough to keep up with my boys' laundry and I only take care of the youngest ones'!

I have one nightgown and one nightshirt. I usually wear tanks and t's and cotton shorts. I do have three nice nighties, but they're buried at the back of the closet. If you don't wear them all on a regular basis, them maybe cut them down by half.

I have 3 short sleeved, short nightgowns and one long sleeved, long, heavy nightgown. I wear them about twice before washing. I live in the desert, so I only wear the wintery one when visiting somewhere cold...or when we have the air conditioner turned too cold :lmao:

We put on fresh PJs every night, so I'd 7-8 or so. Enough to get ya through till laundry day;)

we all have enough to get through the week with a couple to spare. We don't re-wear clothes.

23 seems rather excessive but unless you are mentally unable to downsize or stop collecting them, then I don't think it falls under the hoarder category.

Ok I have this big drawer at the bottom of an armoire. It is full of old shorts, tank tops, sleepshirts, t-shirts, and a couple of pairs of pj pants. No matched sets, just bits and pieces. In fact, most of them were, at one point, work-out or summer clothes that got old and a little worn, and got moved from "daytime use" to "sleepwear". That's all I ever sleep in, winter or summer. My very fav thing to sleep in is a pair of knit shorts and a men's underwear-style tank top.

I do have a couple of nice silky nightgowns and pretty gown sets, but I don't sleep in them - I can't stand sleeping in long nightgowns, I HATE when things get tangled around my legs.

I also wanted to add, that if you have a lot of clothes but they are contained and organized within the closet of the bedroom, drawers of your dresser, and places like that and having them does not lower your quality of life or the quality of life of your family then you probably are not a hoarder. If you are climbing over piles of clothes and other stuff like the people on the TV shows, then you need help.

I have 10 for spring/summer and 7 or 8 for winter. i change my pj's everyday.
My kids have at least 10 each for spring/summer and 10 each for winter/spring. dd13 also has quite a few extra pair of flannel bottoms and boxers that she likes to wear around the house.

I've been thinking about this and I think you have more pajama sets than I have total clothes. I'm pretty sure that I couldn't put together 40 outfits- pajamas, sweats, jeans, work clothes...even if I included everything I own.

As I said earlier though, I'm a minimalist who hates shopping. Believe it or not, I was looking in my closet today and thinking that it was time to clear out some things that I no longer wear.

I have about 8 pairs of pajamas. I wish I had more. I change mine daily, as do my kids. My kids probably have about 9 pairs each. I love pajamas.

I love pyjamas and have probably five winter and 6 summer sets. As soon as I am home from work that is what I change into.
