How long does your dishwasher cycle take?

I run my dw at night at some point between dinner and bedtime and I've never really paid attention to how long the cycle takes. It's typically the last thing I do after cleaning up from dinner and I'm not in the kitchen while it's running so I have no idea when it stops. The other day I started a cycle after lunch and it seemed to take forever but I thought that was just my losing track of time. However, today I started the "normal" wash / air dry cycle at 7:15am. It's still running (it's 8:50am here now).

Mine doesn't take that long unless I am doing heated dry (which I usually do). I'm pretty sure even with heated dry it wouldn't take that long. I'll have to time it one day now.

My washing machine on the other hand, take a few hours. I'll often start it after dinner because I want clean clothes in the morning, then I'll find myself up until midnight to make sure the clothes get in the dryer! ugh

The "normal wash" button takes close to two hours. Supposedly it uses much less water than our old dishwasher which took about 45 minutes.

I was going to say an hour but now I'm not sure. I've never really paid attention. It's a newer dishwasher, 2 years old.

The new ones take about 3.5 hours. That's with the heated dry, but drying is only around half an hour, I think. I don't really pay attention to mine because it's incredibly quiet. I do have to plan around how long it's going to take and make sure I start it early enough if I'm going to need the dishes. As a mom of 5, we frequently run 2 cycles/day, so only one of them can be overnight.

I guess ours is pretty normal then. It's about 5 years old and I can't believe that it's always taken this long but, as I said before I've never really paid attention to it before. I guess I was expecting it to be less than an hour like the one I grew up with.

Varies..I also have a Bosch and the length depends on the weight of the load which I assume determines how many and how dirty 'it' thinks the dishes are! Typically 118-126 minutes.

Just got a new DW and was shocked at how long it took.... I thought it wasn't working right at first....lol

I just moved into a brand new house and for a normal heat dry wash it takes 3 hours and 14 minutes.

I only know this because that is exactly what it says on the control panel when I press start. Luckily there are only two of us, so I run it after dinner/before bed, but you really do need to think about it if you need to run it between meals, say in the afternoon.

I have a Bosch also and run it on automatic and sanitize so it takes about 2:20. I generally set it to run delayed so it turns on around midnight and is done in the morning. It is a nice quiet machine and provides good background white noise for the puppy who sleeps in her crate right next to it!

I usually run mine at bedtime, but I always thought it took about an hour.

The dishwasher at my house is probably 20 years old or more (we've been here 17 years and it was already here) and it takes about an hour for a normal cycle without heated dry.

The one at our cabin is probably even older than the one at home, it's a Magic Chef brand, and it has only two choices: normal wash or light wash. Normal wash takes 35 minutes without the heated dry, light wash takes 25 minutes. I LOVE that dishwasher and hope it never dies.

The dishwasher we have at work in the group home is less than 2 years old and it takes FOREVER. If you pick the 'quick' cycle it takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. The regular cycle without the drying takes almost 2 hours. I think it's ridiculous that it takes so long.

Since I started looking into this today, I've read a few things that say that today's dishwashers take 2-3X longer but use half as much water and energy than the older ones...

I don't have a dishwasher but I housesit frequently and the house with a Bosch takes 2 hours and the house with a GE takes around 1.5 hours. Both houses have these pre-set so I just press start but they are normal cycles with dry time.
