What is approx grace period for showing up late for a dining reservation?

About 15-30 minutes. Less than 15 to be safer, but we once showed up at Tokyo Dining a half hour late because the Epcot monorail did one of those famous sit-there-for-who-knows-how-long.

There is no 'set' time and, frankly, no restaurant needs to accommodate unreasonable lateness, though some will. They have plenty of people waiting to take my place, if I'm a no-show. They don't need to wait for me to seat a table.

Up to the restaurant - no hard and fast rule.

We watched a family walk up to Steakhouse 71 who were 1.5 hours late for breakfast (and they looked like they had a rough morning!). The host was surprised and had them repeat their reservation time, to make sure she heard them correctly, but they were seated not long after us.

Things happen, and I think most people are as accommodating as possible. Just know it's probably a gamble after 15-20 minutes, esp in really popular/booked restaurants.

The latest we've been accommodated was 30 minutes at Whispering Canyon. But in this instance, my daughter and I actually got there to check in on time. It was the rest of our party who were running late and the hostess told us she'd hold our reservation if they could all get there within 30 minutes.

I think 15 is more the norm.

I think it says 15 minutes in the terms when booking a reservation. But as you can see above, if they're able to accommodate, they will. I do wonder if they are less likely to be forgiving now that walkup lists are a thing. It might be less likely your table is still available? If it's some time later, I've also heard of people calling to let them know so they can adjust.

Last March we ran into a problem finding handicapped parking at Epcot. Two of the more able bodied members of our party ran back to San Angel for our adr and checked in on time but were told they wouldn't seat us if all members of the party weren't there within 15 minutes of the reservation time. They honestly weren't very nice about it and it left us not wanting to return to the restaurant again in the near future.
