How intense is the mummy?

I love roller coasters, especially ones with big drops and classic wooden type ones. I can handle upside down roller coasters, but not ones with too many loops. However, expedition everest really did me in last year. I think it might have been a combination of a REALLY hot and humid day, being deyhrdated, and the going backwards, nearly upside down, in the dark that did me in! Other rides like rockin roller coaster were fine for me.

I'm leary of the mummy as it sounds like an indoor coaster and you can't see it all before you ride. How intense is it really?

And if it's not too intense, is it something appropriate for a 7 year old? Last year she loved test track, splash moutain, barnstormer, etc.

Thanks!

EE makes me kinda sick too. Mummy doesn't at all. Mummy has two quite short coaster segments separated by an action scene. There are no inversions and the backwards part is only a second or two long.

The coaster part is no more intense than Space Mountain. If she likes that, she'll be fine. The coaster parts are in the dark. There are also action scenes with scarabs, fire and of course, Mummies.

With a 7-year-old, I'd be more worried about the imagery than the intensity. If she's sensitive and easily scared, she might find it terrifying -- but if she can handle that stuff in stride, she'll be ok. It has some decent thrills, but I wouldn't call it high-intensity or anything. I know there's some decent G-force on Everest when you go backwards, but I don't think there's anything comparable on Mummy.

It's a fantastic ride and I'd encourage you to give it a shot.

I'd rate it 3/5 in intensity. The coaster sequences are short and quick. No inversions, no HUGE drops (biggest drop is 26').

For reference, I give Rockit 4/5 in intensity and Hulk/Dragons 5/5.

I'm a 44 yr old mom and a scardy cat.:scared1: I love Mummy! My sister just went on it with me a couple of weeks ago and she started crying. She really liked Everest though. I can do Everest once in a day - unlike my DH, DD, DS who can ride it over and over again.

I'll do any Disney coaster/ride except Tower Terror, and Mission Space. Sometimes I skip Rock-n-roller Coaster, but I'd never skip Mummy. I won't ride Hulk, Dueling Dragons, or RipRock. I won't do Doctor Doom ever again. I loved Forbidden Journey - rode it twice.

I know - none of this makes sense of why I can do some over others. I just really like the ones with a story in them. I won't even try the ones that I can see how crazy they look, so it's better if they are in the dark for me.

Just to add to nytimez's point, I would also be aware that if anyone is not a fan of fire, this may not be the ride for you. There are two scenes with fire in them and you can feel it. My DD7 hates fire due to a surprise appearance--to her anyway--of the stuff at her first (and probably only) visit to a Japanese restaurant. I don't think she'd like Mummy at all for that reason alone.

So the drops are not a big deal? I thought it had one big drop? I must be thinking of something else.
