And NO I haven't lied....LOL! I've had the flu and of course my stomach has been upset and now I have the more horrible "lie bump" on my tongue, IT HURTS, HURTS, HURTS!!!!!!!

Is there any home remedy that anyone knows of to get rid of this thing? I'm supposed to go on a business trip with DH tomorrow and I can't even talk right with this thing.

You are the only other person EVERY (outside of my family) who has ever referred to a Lie Bump!! I thought my grandma made that up herself!! LOL!! Sorry.. I don't have any cure... just wanted to tell you I know what it is!! And yes... they do hurt!!! Sorry!!!

Kathy

Sorry - I've never heard of a "lie bump" :confused3

Sorry, no cure here either - but it is nice to hear that other people call these "lie bumps" too.

Mom would always just say "Stop telling lies, be a good girl, be nice to your mother and it will go away."

:guilty: sorry - not any real help - they hurt something awful

I get them when I eat too much citrus fruits but sorry I have no remedies except for waiting it out! :guilty:

Too funny! (Not funny that you have one, of course, but funny that it is called a "lie bump"!). We call them "Tongue Zits."

I don't have any remedy to offer. I always cut out citrus when I have one because I think that causes them/makes them worse for me. Hope your lie bump goes away soon!

Is it a sore in your mouth? A canker sore?

I had a nasty one a couple of months ago and I used the Baby Orajel on it and it numbed it pretty good. :earsboy:

I never knew they were called that...I get brave and tweeze them off, because it's less torture than waiting for it to go away!

Suzanne

These are not cankers. These are a really sore spot on the tongue. DH calls them infected taste buds, but i think of them as tongue zits too. I'll have to remember the term, "lie bump"!

LOL! I've always called them lie bumps. Actually tongue zit makes a lot of sense.

Suzanne oh my goodness, you TWEEZE it off, uuggh I wonder if that would work but OUCH!!!!!

Rinse really good a couple of times a day with mouthwash. You can use Oragel or Orabase (rx) on them. They are basically inflamed taste buds. My mom said they were caused by telling fibs!

I've taken the tweezers to them too. It hurts, but at least it's gone.

And I never heard of ANY of these names. LOL

I've never heard anyone else except for my family call them lie Bumps either! Thats awesome!! I always rub them across my teeth, which kinda hurts and always makes them hurt worse. So dont do that! :) I have no other suggestions! I hope you feel better soon!

Yep, I pull them off with tweezers when i get them. They're basically inflamed taste buds.

Okay how might you go about PULLING them off???? Is it actually something there you can remove or is it like a pimple that you pop?
