Hot Tub Time & Running through WDW: Jan 2025 Trip Report (Completed)

Next mom and me head to MK. I schedule a photopass photographer for a session so I would not have to wait in the long lines to get medal pics after races. I love that it is just a boat ride away.
Soo easy to just hop on.



I slowly walk to the meeting spot in liberty area. We meet with the photographers. It is soo nice. I get 2 photographers! They are ready for us rundisney people with signs too!
We do all the classic medal pics.




Then we move to our 2nd spot.
More pics... again soo nice no waiting in line.

Moving to this spot was funny... my poor short photographer was really reaching to get the medals in the bush.





The effect was great though and more unique than the medals on the railing!

I now I slowly walk back to our cabin... yep. Lol. That is it. My shortest trip to a park ever.
And head back to the boat and now to our Cabin. The men are back. My husband said they had fun on some classic rides like Spaceship Earth. Yeah.

Next we have an early reservation to Storybook dining! Such a hard reservation to get after Dopey since all of crazy Dopey people want to meet Dopey after all these miles.

They have us seated in a nice spot. Middle of all the action. Love it.
We order our food.
My sons app plate is soo cute.

I get the apple martini drink.. really yummy and good.


Mom gets the cool smoke drink..love it. No pic of the smoke... we video it sorry.

I love how they put it on a little tree.

We love the apps... my husband love the mushroom soup.. I love the shrimp and meatballs.
I ordered the prime rib... soo good.. and I mean everything was soo good. Including the bread puff thing... like melts in your mouth.

The pork shank look great too. My mom said it was.

My husband and dad got the same of the two of us. They all love it too.
My son got his classic chicken tenders and he was happy.

While eating different characters came around. We had to get a pick with Grumpy and my dad... lol.

Grumpy had soo much fun with him.
Then on next to my son and then me.



Next Dopey! The man of the hour... all of us Dopey people are everywhere in this room, lol.
I chat with Dopey about earning his medal challenge! Of course he loved it.


Then I told him it was my son birthday. My son loved that.


Snow white came around for pics. She was soo sweet to my son and wishing him a happy birthday.

Next wishing me a congrats on my Dopey medals.


They brought my son out dessert with happy birthday on it. He loved it... also those little desserts are cute and delicious.

Next we get our invite to meet the queen... my son is scared of her... soo my husband stay with him... my dad just doesn't do pics.. he is grumpy after all... lol
So just me and my mom.
I chat with her about how lovely she is.. she likes that... I also told her about how I earned my Dopey medals and she jokes that they are just giving them away apparently since everyone had them here tonight. Lol... love her and soo true... like everyone here has a Dopey person.



Then we slowly walk back with our very full tummies. We all really enjoyed that dinner. It is really one of the best characters meals... the food and characters are just too notch.

I am tried.. soo guess what time it is??
Hot tub time!!!

I chill here with a drink for a while. I love this hot tub.
I am determined to stay up long enough to see the fire works from the hot tub. The deck plays the music for the fireworks. Soo I watch the fireworks from the hot tub... man I have never watched fireworks from here before.


My mom and my son watch it from the deck. What a great way to end the night! Soo much better than the crowds on our own private deck and hot tub... even if it is a little obstructed u see pretty good.
My husband went into MK for a little late night park time.. he had fun. This is how he saw the Fireworks... a cool spot.

He said it really clears out during fireworks and got on Tron and then hit up a few more rides after that since the park was soo empty... probably all of us runners and runners families are just too tried .

Time for bed. Man did I sleep so well that night. What a day I will never forget!

What an experience! Talk about a priceless memory- You obviously worked hard and trained hard, you took care of the details, meal and photoshoots, and you had gorgeous accommodations. This trip will be hard to beat moving forward. But hey, you can have a lot of fun trying Congratulations on finishing the whole gamut- pretty amazing stuff!

My legs were soo done.. lol.. u should have seen me walk around I was like a little old lady. But that is what training is for. You follow the Jeff Galloway training method that rundisney publish and it will get your through it. A lot of training plans stop at 20 miles... as a slow runner... u got to go past 20... I went to 24. Most runners hit the wall around mile 21... u got to train through that... I never hit a wall during the marathon because I went to 24 miles.

Lol soo true... it will be very hard to beat. But that is okay. This was my birthday present for my 40th... so instead of having a midlife crisis and buying a convertible... I did Dopey and Cabin much healthier and happier midlife crisis... lol.

Monday... Jan 13th...

I slept in... like till 5ish... yes u heard that right 5ish was sleeping in, lol. Remember I have been waking up at 1:30 am through 2:30 am...
We eat breakfast in the Cabin... trying to eat all food we have left since today we are flying home.

Then we start packing. My goal is to pack up before MK opens up soo we can hit up the parks one last time.

Having such a big place means we have all really spread out... like everywhere... lol.

It takes a bit to pack up but we got it yeah!!
My parents decided they just want to chill out in the cabin till 11 am check out.

The rest of the family goes to the boat. I do really love this boat ride. it feels like we are already on a ride. I will miss this.



We make it for the half an hour resorts only time. Our goal Peter Pan!
Man normally I rock the walk fast push to get to the rides.. but i am slower today...lol. but i have to say motion is the best lotion my legs start stretching out and feeling better as I walk.
We make it to Peter Pan ride and still looks really reasonable. We walk through the que.
We spot Tink!

And we fly off! My son looves this ride.

Nice we get off the this ride and still have time to hit some other rides. We go to small world ride since it right next door and a walk on.




We get das for mine train. I notice Buzzlightyear still has a short wait time to so we go over to it. Again one of my sons fav rides.



Then we walk on over to the classic people mover ride. It is fun going on it and my son pointing out all the things he has done or seen.

Ahh thanks... I mean I was tearing up alot too. It is just one of those things... u never think u could do for a long time.. and then when u finally do it, you feel like you are on top of the world! Like u can do anything

Soo we head to Mine train and we find out it is down now bah.. okay switch to tea cups! Tea cups is still short line. My husband tummy does not like tea cups so he sits it out.

We have fun spinning! Spin, spin, more spin!!

Speedway still has it short line so we jumped in that... I know alot people do not like this ride... but my son loves it. Little boys and cars...



I am getting hungry... and soo we get Cheshire Cat Tails dessert. Yummy.

Also when we ordered the CM noticed it was my sons birthdays and then said they made this extra slushie would u like it for free. Ahh love the little pixie dust. My son was very excited. He liked it but got full soo me and my husband were able to help finish it off.


And the mine train opens up!! Go... go... go!
This is one of my sons fav roller coaster. It is soo smooth. Not to scary but more thrilling than a basic one. Like the perfect kid roller coaster.


Next we head to Little Mermaid ride. My son again loves this ride... he is a sucker for any under the water ride and it always has a short line.

Next we go to Gaston Tavern... I really wanted to try Crème Brûlée Croissant... since in Thanskgiving the cinnamon roll was such a let down I have been kicking myself about not trying it. The line is a bit long but I wait in it while my husband and son go the bathroom and walk around. I ended ordering Crème Brûlée Croissant and Ham And Gruyère Tart. Why not?


Man are these in great!! They are now the best food u can get in MK hands down... now I know the bar is low... MK food sucks. Now I understand the long line. My husband and me share it. My son doesn't want it but the Tart came with lays chips and he happily helps us with those. Lol. And and his sandwich we packed since he is such a pickey eater.
Next I see the step sisters

and I asked my son hey do u want to meet any characters before we leave.
He said mickey of course too say goodbye!! I loove that idea! We das mickey.
As we got towards the front of the park, my son wants to try to pull the sword out... so we try our luck. No one was worthy



But funny pics.
Then we go around the castle and see a show is happening. We watch it for a bit from a distance.



Then head down mainstreet to meet mickey.

We check in to see mickey. Mickey saw the sweater he had and wanted his ears up like mickeys. Soo funny.


Mickey wish him a happy birthday.
And then congratulated me for my Dopey.

And my son high fives mickey and says goodbye. Letting him know we are leaving today.


My son starts tearing up a bit. I understand kid... but we will be back again real soon.

Back on the boat to wilderness lodge.

As we were walking to lobby where my parents were chillen. We saw the Geyser go off!! Yeah!! What a great to end our stay here at this wonderful resort.




We meet up with my parents and go to our van. Drive back to the airport and drop off our luggage first and us and while my husband then drops of the rental.

It is busy but not like crazy busy at the airport. We check in and go through security lines. We are pre check so nothing to bad. Then we head to United club... man this place sucked today... they had like zero food. They were not restocking it at all soo took a while to finally get food. But hey at least the drinks were good.

Then we board the plane.... I notice quite a few Dopey people on our plane.

Nothing special on our plane ride. We did have one of the gigantic planes... with the middle rows. But that is about it.

Then we arrive home.

Overall: Completing my first Dopey with my whole family there to support me will always be one of my top moments of my life. I am soo much healthier now that I have done this... and even looking at a major now. (I will still probably not do another Dopey for a very long time since taking off this much work for me is very difficult and my boss was veign very nice this time around so dont want to push it.) Wilderness Lodge itself is such a wonderful resort. Soo beautiful and the food options there are great! We all really enjoyed the boat to get to MK. The Cabin was a once in a lifetime experience that we were soo blessed to be able to exp. The Cabins are worth every point we saved. It did help Jan is one of the cheapest points of the year. But I would not stay at Wilderness lodge for rundisney again... the rundisney busses for it are just too iffy and sharing it with the fort and contemporary really made for long bus rides. I would soo book Bloulder creek though for non rundisney weekend and will eye it at our 7 month windows from now on. Also jedi trainer and our dessert order were amazing and worth every penny!
