HoJo vs Residence Inn vs Hyatt House vs Homewood Suites

I checked a random 8 night period in April 2025 and the Hilton Garden Inn averaged $280 a night and Home2Suites was $346. I would definitely recommend looking at them. Home2Suites has a pretty good breakfast and Garden Inn could be had for even cheaper with a non-cancellable prepay.

These hotels are only a couple minutes further than the Hojo and are much newer.

Not to poo poo other peoples opinions but I just wanted to put a caveat out there regarding the previous comment about the Hilton Garden Inn and Home2Suites. The poster says they are only a couple of minutes further than the HoJo but that really is very important when it comes to walking distance. I loved our stay at the HoJo but I have to say that we found that even it was a stretch in distance to and from the parks. We like to take an afternoon break and then return to the parks in the night but adding that walk to and from the HoJo four times a day (2 out 2 back) was difficult in the Californian sun and at the end of a long day. I would never stay anywhere that was further in distance than the HoJo, for me that is the maximum I am willing to walk to and from the parks given how we like to tour. We are having a splurge this time and staying at the DLH Villas and they are about the same distance from the park as the HoJo but we have the advantage of being able to take the monorail back for our afternoon break from DL (going in December so closure due to heat hopefully won't be a thing). Anyhoo just something to keep in mind.

Here’s an idea of the walking distance. Totally understand that it’s too far away for some. Being closer to the crosswalk at the end of the night is always nice too!

Real-Time Walk from Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel and Water Playground to Disneyland Entrance

Hope that helps!

@crystal1313 ALWAYS super helpful!!!

Looking at either Home2 Suites or Hilton Garden Inn Anaheim Resort.

The rooms seem to be very similar, the main difference being Home2 has a bigger kitchen area, which we won't really need.

The other difference is Home2 has breakfast included, while HGI doesn't. I can get a HGI rate that includes breakfast (buffet at Luke and Lara I believe) that works out to be the same as the Home2 rate.

Cryrstal1313 do you know how the breakfasts at Home2 and Luke and Lara (HGI) compare?

Hi! We have not eaten at Luke and Lara yet. When we first stayed at Hilton garden inn, I do not believe the restaurant was open yet. And when we stayed at Home2Suites, it had limited hours.

I can tell you about the breakfast at Home2Suites. They had waffle makers, eggs, sausage, toast/bagels, oatmeal, cereal, juice, apples, bananas, milk, juice, coffee and tea.

I wish I could compare them for you! I did just check on Yelp, and while Luke and Lara only had two reviews, they are both good and the food looks really good.

Have a fun trip!!
