*HHI Owners and Beach Lovers Group Thread*

Iger announced yesterday at the shareholder meeting that there are no future plans to build any off site properties.
Disney will have different leadership around 2042, so it will be interesting to see about DHHIR.
Funny, I would think they'd be more apt to build off site properties given the tediousness and overarching expense to visit the parks anymore. That aside, I am curious to see what 2042 holds given I own at one of those properties. Of course, by then, I likely won't care. pirate:

Good Evening all. Anyone know if there is still a pool table in the main building of the resort?

Is there a splash pad at the beach house? I don't remember seeing one when we were there in 2023, but I have seen pictures online of one with giant beach ball features. Wasn't sure if they were old pictures of something that wasn't there anymore.

The picture that you are referencing was taken around 2018-2019. It was not there last summer and would have been nice to have as those bricks get HOT!!

Heading to HH for our first trip in 2 weeks and want to put in a room request for our one bedroom. It's just my husband and I. I'd prefer a dedicated 1 bedroom second floor. Does that sound like a reasonable request. I dislike 1st floor rooms and from what I've read most of these rooms exist near the main building lobby. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

No dedicated 1 bedrooms.

There is nothing that is truly 1st floor there is at least a few steps up except for buildings 11 & 12 that are on the second floor and most likely where you will find your room.

1BR, 2nd floor is quite reasonable. As mentioned by eticketplease, all rooms sit at least one flight of stairs up, including those in Bldgs 11 (main lobby bldg) and 12 (attached to 11). There are five 1BRs scattered throughout the resort in the GV buildings which are 16, 18, 19, 28, & 31. Those 1BRs all sit on the bottom floor, though once again, they sit one flight of stairs up. I don't recommend asking for a 1BR in those five buildings because they sit under a GV, and noise from those above you is a constant threat (in one configuration, the GV kitchen sits right above the 1BR).

All the other 1BRs are in 11 and 12, including two that sit behind the lobby. Your odds of getting a 1BR on a higher floor are quite good. However, I would still call the resort directly at least a couple of weeks out and make your request in person. They have a few dedicated CMs who work on room requests, so talking with one of them is the best way to go. That doesn't mean you'll get exactly what you want, of course, but it can't hurt. ;)

If your desire to be on the second floor stems from a desire to have no one above you, be aware that if you request building 11, the second floor does have a floor above it (and I know from experience that you can experience some very loud footsteps above you). In the Main Lodge, or what's called building 11, you want to request the third floor or top floor.

I want to share my excitement about our trip to DHHIR for Thanksgiving. Now, we "have to" stay an extra day.:tigger: The day we had originally planned to come home had incredibly high prices when the Southwest schedule came out yesterday. Out of curiosity, I checked the next day, and it was so much cheaper I was amazed. So by staying an extra day, we're saving $530 for 2 people! And an extra day at HHI.

Thank you, I just called and requested top floor In either building 11 or 12. I appreciate your suggestion!

Not sure of this has been discussed already in this thread - my apologies if this is repeated information.

Please be aware that a beach renourishment project is starting soon on HHI:

https://hiltonheadislandsc.gov/beachrenourish2025/

The central and southern portions of the beach are slated for work from September 2025 to May 2026. Only small portions of the beach will be “closed” at any point as work proceeds down the beach. The exact time any specific beach access area ( such as Disney’s beach house) will be impacted is not provided.

Please look at the photos and videos of previous beach renourishment projects provided at the link above.

My family loves HHI and spend hours walking/playing/biking/relaxing on the beach each day. We usually rent a house/condo as close to the beach as the budget allows.

While we understand the importance of the project, we are choosing to delay a multi-family trip as we do not want to risk being impacted by the project.
