I am all set for DD's Luau Birthday Party (she's turning 8). There will be boys and girls at the party ranging in age from 8 to 11. I have a few games planned and need to come up with 3 prizes and I'm just stuck. I really don't want to do candy because we have a pinata so they will get candy as their take home loot bag. I need prizes for the winner of the limbo and the 2 winners for the water balloon toss.

I'm taking ideas.

Target always has great stuff in their dollar bins.
Or how about Silly bandz are they still popular?
Are you looking for something larger?
I've seen some pretty cool card games at Target lately,
a water baloon 'kit' would be a great prize for the balloon toss winners.

Sticky Hands

The ginormous bubble tubes that Wal-Mart has - they blow ginormous bubbles too!

Baskin Robbins gift cert. Used to be you could buy a "cone" GC

A tub of water balloons - DD won one at a raffle 2 summers ago. It was a bucket with an assortment of balloons and the thingy you put on the hose to fill them up. Hours of fun

Thanks. These definately got my brain moving. I have 3 extra beach buckets that I picked up in the dollar spot at Target, so maybe I'll use those and put some water balloon kits and some other beachy items in there that I can find at the dollar store or Target.

I wouldn't do "prizes" .. just play the games and give everyone the same things at the end.

I would be uncomfortable sending 3 kids home w/something different..

but the kids might like a big beach ball, water guns, koosh ball, light up toys..

Have fun!

What a fun party theme!!!!!

Glow sticks, ice cream shop gift card, coconut, beach water bottle, tropical beach towel?

Hope your daughter has a great time!!!!!

I know Target has beach balls and sand toys in their dollar bin and Party City has mini beach balls 2 for $1.
AAAlso don't forget to look in the toy section of Target some of the seasonal stuff back there is really cheap too.

I'm doing a Luau myself this Saturday so I've been looking at this stuff

Flashlights were always a hit at our kids' parties at that age.

All the kids will go home with the goodie bag, but I want to do prizes for the game winners. It's never been an issue in the past when I've done parties or when DD's attended parties.

I got a bunch of stuff on clearance back in April from PartyCity.com and I picked up some stuff at Target and the Dollar Store. I was doing this party at home thinking I'd save money (rather than do a party somewhere else)....NOT. I'm pretty sure I've spent more than I would have spent, but I just can't help myself with all the cool luau stuff :). I even got an inflateable limbo stick and now I need to make myself a luau CD :)

Have fun at your party!

My kids would love movie passes - there are a ton of movies coming out this summer!
