Has Disney Parks lost hope in developing great parades and shows?

I think Disneyland's biggest focus will be on their upcoming anniversary and something tells me that they will indeed have a new parade in the works in honor of the celebration.

In recent years, Disneyland typically keeps a parade for several years (5 years or more) before developing a new one. For example, Soundsational was from 2011-17 and returned in 2019. Parade of Dreams was 2005-08, Parade of Stars 2000-04. In the case of Magic Happens, it opened for barely weeks in 2020 before the parks closed for the pandemic. And did not restart until in 2023. So it is really a pretty new parade still. Used about 2 years when you factor in the holiday parade taking over for periods of time. I happen to love Magic Happens and have hopes it will be returning in 2026.

Paint the Night (best nighttime parade ever) has been announced as returning for the 70th. I am thinking there is just not the space to store the floats for both Magic Happens and Paint the Night, and that once Paint the Night goes back in the vault that Magic Happens will return again.

You indeed have a smart answer KPeterso. Maybe these new parades and shows will be just what the doctor ordered for Disney Parks and maybe there will be hope that Disney Parks will make good shows and parades in the future

The thing that is very annoying that Disney Parks does with the character meet and greets that I can't figure out why they do this and this is probably why they are gonna improve character meet and greets in their entertainment division is why they have three to four hour lines for meet and greets and families are in line but by the time it's the family's turn the family always shoves autograph books in the character's faces. And to me it's VERY rude and then when they take photos with the kid and the character it's impossible to do because you are dodging families that constantly say "Excuse Me" and Disney Parks should enforce a rule on this annoying habit

With the downfall of the popular After Hours events at Disneyland I think this is another sign that Disney Parks have lost hope in their shows parades and entertainment and what I cannot see is how people pay expensive prices for the After Hours events? Because why people even attend these events is so they can attend the parades see the exclusive shows and meet characters but now that is impossible to do at these events now. In Walt Disney World what really hurt them was the cancellation of shows such as The Osborne Family Lights and they should revive the Osborne Family Lights shows as a holiday tradition every holiday season and the cancellation of events such as Star Wars Weekends and ABC's Super Soap Weekends and also the Christian music oriented Night Of Joy. And when Walt Disney World cancelled those events due to the pandemic people were outraged. But I think the biggest event that makes the Disney Parks a lot of money is the Grad Nites for high school graduates every summer and it seems that this event makes Disney Parks a huge ton of money

People enjoy these events and are willing to pay for them. That's the only thing you need to understand. If they weren't popular Disney would have gotten rid of them.

First of all, the pandemic shut down a lot of things (and rightfully so) and no, people were not outraged that those things were cancelled.

Star Wars Weekends were not a big draw and Super Soap Weekend ended because people no longer are interested in soaps. Night of Joy was popular in the beginning, but towards the end of it's run it wasn't a moneymaker anymore so it was cancelled.

Grad Night is spread over numerous nights at Disneyland (DisneyWorld quit doing it in 2011) so I am sure it makes money but I doubt it makes 'a huge ton'. Plus Universal has it's own Grad Nights which I'm sure eats into Disney's profits.

You keep posting a lot of misinformation and things that are just plain wrong and it confuses people looking for factual information. Please either cite your sources or consider not posting 'your thoughts' as facts.

I am not a troll and where I get my info is reading a lot of Disneyland/Walt Disney World travel guides and when my family would go on Disneyland trips my mom and I would study Birnbaum's Disney travel book series so we would understand and learn about what we would see during our trips and it was very wonderful and helpful. And I LOVE looking at Disney Parks latest happenings on Youtube. So I'm not posting misinformation but I do dream of returning to Disneyland someday soon in the future. But to be on the subject I think Walt Disney World should improve themselves and have more events and festivals and perhaps bring back their Easter parades every Easter and have a St. Patrick's Day Parade along with an Irish festival in World Showcase at Epcot in the United Kingdom pavilion every St. Patrick's Day in March. And it would have booths of Irish food like corned beef and cabbage and desserts from Ireland and there would be bands performing celtic music and it would be wonderful
