Has Disney Parks lost hope in developing great parades and shows?

Indiana Jones is on borrowed time. Probably exists largely because of its large capacity considering DHS is lacking in attractions and entertainment.

It has very limited performances compared to years past…

You know what show Disneyland should make and put in the Hyperion Theater at DCA? A show based on Percy Jackson And The Olympians and it would be a great well done show if it existed and it would give Disneyland tons of money and make them go back to great shows again. And considering that the Percy Jackson And The Olympians TV series is a hit show for Disney+ a show based on Percy Jackson And The Olympians would do very well

They should put ANYTHING in the Hyperion. Disneyland and especially DCA is screaming for more entertainment. The lines are getting out of hand and entertainment takes the strain off it. I am convinced it is to sell more LLMP which makes me angry.

They should go see the wonderful parades at Tokyo disney parks and just copy them, I've never seen so many parades, shows and entertainment that was out of this world amazing in my life.
They have so much entertainment going on each and everyday. I have no idea why the US parks aren't like this anymore.

I think Disneyland and Walt Disney World should really think about their troubles in the Disney Parks entertainment division and really start focusing on more parades and show ideas rather than just focus on character meet and greets because as I mentioned in my other posts in this thread people have always loved parades and shows when they visit Disney Parks and if they came up with interesting parades and shows the magical era would return and here are some ideas that Disney could do as follows,
1. Have more Marvel entertainment at Disneyland at Avengers Campus,
Like you could have Hawkeye host archery lessons and everyone who attended would receive a prize and it would be like the Jedi Training for kids. And the Guardians Of The Galaxy would have a karaoke show where anyone can sing songs with Star Lord Gamora and Adam Warlock
2. Have an interesting show in DCA's Hyperion Theater based on Hollywood and feature interesting original songs and musical score
3. Add an interactive parade in Magic Kingdom,
Ever since Magic Kingdom had the Remember The Magic parade to honor Walt Disney World's anniversary in 1997 it is shocking that they haven't had interactive parades since then and a new interactive parade would be another feather in Magic Kingdom's cap
4. Add more characters of Marvel that can sign autographs during meet and greets to Avengers Campus in DCA,
I find it shocking that aside from Spider-Man Captain America Black Widow Ant-Man Doctor Strange and Loki Avengers Campus in DCA does not have enough Marvel characters and they should bring out more of the Avengers characters that can sign autographs like Vision Nick Fury Sam Wilson Bucky Barnes and also bring back Hawkeye for meet and greets because without these characters in Avengers Campus it isn't the same without them

The other reason why I see Disney Parks having troubles in their entertainment division is that I really think they're scared of spending expensive money on parades and shows and they are trying to save money so they are now having less parades and more fireworks oriented shows to save money. But I think once Disneyland finishes it's 70th Anniversary Celebration Disneyland will return to making wonderful shows and having great entertainment once again. But the one show that I wish Epcot should retire is The American Adventure and I cannot figure out why that show is still surviving in Epcot. And what they should do is make a concert hall for the Voices Of Liberty to do indoor concerts and it would be great

The other show I don't know why it is still surviving in Disney's Hollywood Studios that should be retired is Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular because although the Indiana Jones movie series is a classic Disney Hollywood Studios should put something interesting should replace it but I think the only reason it survives is because it's a show that is less expensive to put on. But the worst mistake Disney Hollywood Studios did was create the American Idol Experience and I cannot figure out how that show made it to Disney's Hollywood Studios? Because it was essentially a show based on American Idol but there were no prizes for the winners and I think this show was very expensive to make and failed and that's why it was short-lived. But what could also work for Disney Parks is character breakfast morning shows because when Disneyland opened the Disneyland Pacific Hotel "Now Pixar Place Hotel" in 1995 they debuted the first ever character breakfast morning show at the PCH Grill and it was a hit with everyone. And I wonder why Disney Parks don't have character breakfast morning shows today? Because if they did today it would be a big hit for everyone

There were prizes for the winners. ( Disney can not give “cash” prizes) - winners were given a “dream ticket”, and the show ran five years. Is that really “short-lived” for a show of this type? We were at the final show. Many “regulars” would disagree that the show failed.

This is why I can’t wait for him to get replaced in 2026, hopefully with someone waaaay better than him.
Any ideas on who you would like to see replace him? Everyone was so excited when he came back but the reunion has not been as expected….

Either Alan Bergman or an outsider film executive, like Michael Eisner and Frank Wells were. Bergman is in charge of Disney’s film division, by the way.

I also think that Disney Parks are focusing more on rides than entertainment because they see that more visitors that go to the parks focus more on rides and shopping and meeting characters rather than shows and parades. But what Disney Parks should seriously think about is making a Disney Princess parade and it would be a tribute to all the Disney Princesses. And it would have floats shaped like storybooks and each Disney Princess would say "Hello I'm Princess Aurora and this is my story" and she would tell a short version of Sleeping Beauty and sing and the same format would repeat with Snow White Cinderella Ariel Tiana Mulan and Jasmine and it would be hosted by Fairy Godmother who would appear at the end of the parade in her own float telling guests "If you believe in magic your dreams will come true" and then Fairy Godmother would wave to guests. And it would be a nice parade for Magic Kingdom to do if it was developed indeed. Because the princesses are huge hits with little girls and everybody this parade would get high marks if it was created
Does anyone agree with me?

The shocking yet surprising thing about all this is that it seems that Disney in general is giving all the Broadway style shows to DCL and Disney Parks get little entertainment and I think now in Disney's entertainment division they have been focusing on DCL's entertainment and shows rather than on developing shows for Disney Parks. I mean look at how many new shows has DCL put out between last year and 2023? While the theme parks have little entertainment now and it has surprised me that this is what Disney's entertainment division has become now? The one show that I also think could've been made better or improved because I think Magic Kingdom rushed it too soon was Enchanted Tales With Belle because I find it shocking that Belle doesn't sign autographs with the audience when the show is finished and people that are picked for the story can only get a picture with Belle and a bookmark and Disney should've done more with this show. I have no idea why Enchanted Tales With Belle is surviving in Magic Kingdom?

I think in the future DCA's Hyperion Theater will become a meet and greet area to meet Marvel heroes and the way I view it once the expansion of Avengers Campus is complete at DCA they will bring the entertainment back to Avengers Campus. Because what I mainly think caused the Avengers Campus entertainment to be cancelled was money costs and they should've NEVER cancelled the Doctor Strange show because it was very popular and a lot of people liked it a lot. Other shows that Disneyland has that has also been cut to limited performances are the plays in the Fantasyland Royal Theater and before these changes those plays were popular because people liked the funny versions of Tangled and Beauty And The Beast and when they had limited performances people were shocked at what Disneyland did to the Royal Theater plays and they shouldn't have messed with these shows in the first place. When you look at the general picture of any of the Disney Parks that has lost hope for good parades and entertainment Disneyland is number one and Walt Disney World gets second place

I also think Disney Parks is trying their hand at developing shows based on popular franchises like The Muppets and why I think Muppetvision 4D actually closed is simply because of money and it probably got low audience attendance towards the end of it's run. Another thing that Disney Parks have done is that they stick celebrities in shows and make them the stars so the shows can have big impacts. Take for instance when Epcot redid the Universe Of Energy show they chose Ellen DeGeneres and Bill Nye to be the lead stars and I think why Universe Of Energy was a hit was due to Ellen DeGeneres because she was a hit sitcom star at the time with the sitcom Ellen. Another celebrity based show that I don't know how it became a hit is Sounds Dangerous that features Drew Carey and I think why this show gets a big attendance is I think because most of the audience are Drew Carey fans in general. DCA had the Golden Dreams show with Whoopi Goldberg as the star and that show was alright but you can see why it ended it's run at DCA. Because I think Disney Parks has a big obsession with celebrity based shows and they see these shows as moneymakers. But Disney Parks need to come up with some original and wonderful ideas for future parades and shows in order to keep their juices flowing

Paragraphs would be great.

The only thing Disney has lost interest (or hope) in is paying for parades and entertainment.
How did I know about 6 lines into the OP’s post that it would be chastised for format issues? Wait did I miss a comma here or nah? Is nah even a word? Things that make Yinz go hmmmmm

I also think that Disney wants to have kiddie shows and parades that want to attract children in the 3-7 age range and they are trying to focus less on the older crowd of older kids and adults and you need parades and shows to attract the older kids and adults because those types of shows and parades everyone likes. But when you look at DCA and Disneyland I think DCA was wrong to close ABC Soap Opera Bistro and replace it with Disney Jr. Live On Stage because it seemed that they wanted to attract the infant and toddler crowd when DCA was meant for the older kids and teens and why Disney Jr. Live On Stage continues to be popular i'll never understand why. A second wrong move Disneyland did was change The Golden Horseshoe by losing the iconic act Billy Hill And The Hillbillies to Knotts Berry Farm and when this happened The Golden Horseshoe changed it's show and made it not as terrific as it used to be. And Disney should retire The Golden Horseshoe's show and put a different show in it's place like a country karaoke show where guests could be chosen from the audience and perform country songs and it would be a wonderful idea for Disneyland to do

What I wish Disney Parks would very much do an improvement on because character meet and greets are most of their focus now rather than parades and shows is making guests meet characters easily without the hassle of waiting in line. Because I think "the more I read about this" Disney Parks seem to have a problem with character meet and greets. Because I find it odd that people and families wait and wait for their turn to meet characters and they should let the family that's in line first be the very first in line to meet characters and no matter how much you beg and beg for your kid to meet their favorite character first "even if you say "My son has begging to meet Ant-Man so can he go first?' the character handlers do not seem to listen and you are ignored. I think this is one of the main reasons why character meet and greets have become an annoying pain for families to do even though character meet and greets are very big for the parks in the entertainment division. But as I mentioned I think Disney is spending tons of money on developing shows for DCL rather than the theme parks because I think Disney Entertainment thinks that the DCL shows cost less money to put together than the theme park shows at the parks. But at least Pixar Place Hotel in Disneyland has put in the Joe Gardner character to play piano and take requests for songs as entertainment but Disneyland Hotel should revive their nighttime water pageant and make a new version of it for entertainment
