Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Ugh! you are so good! LOL... we're 15 day away, maybe I'll see you there! Wouldn't be able to miss your family with all the creatively hand-painted Magicbands!

I have a question that I didn't find the answer to, and I'm not about to read thru 116 pages again... How does everyone who outlines the Mickey ears do it so precisely? What do you use? I used a thin-tipped white nail art brush and I had a hard time, and it doesn't look as good as GinefirW's.

I'm not sure of the answer to your question. I think I remember reading somewhere on here that some people fill in the nail polish and then use a q-tip and remover to take off the excess.

If you recognize any of my bands stop us and say hi!

I haven't done it myself, but I think you could do it easily with a nail art pen. Like the ones on the commercials. :)

I just finished decorating our bands today, to outline the Mickey head paint with nail polish and remove the excess when is dry easy peasy

This is mine. It started out with minion duct tape which I removed, then I painted the entire thing with gold glitter nail polish, then I took it all off (REALLY HARD TO TAKE OFF - but I should have remembered that from my nails). Tried some red polish, then took that off, but because the band was yellow, the polished stained it. So, I was a bit stuck. I had yellow, red, and then I was inspired by Snow White's dress, so this is what I ended up with. Not really what I wanted, but the best I could do with the red stains.

After 5 hours of a Decorate Your Magic Band party - we only finished 3 full ones and 3 partials. Here are the full ones. Some of them were tough and we had to remove all of the polish. We decided only to put a clear coat first.

One of our DDs - LOVES the Broadway Show Newsies - and it is a Disney Production - so she did that on her own. The other 2 are our friends that are coming with us - with the help of my other DD. Lot of fun - but still 5 more to finish.

I thought everyone on here did a great job but now that we tried - I have more of an appreciation for everyone. Working with the Mickey Head in the middle was tough.

You did a great job. That happened to one of my DDs. She started with something and then we had to remove all the polish three times. It just didn't look good. One of the times she was trying for Snow White but it just wasn't working out. I will show her your band. It is great.

Is that blue nail polish?

Ahh... "when dry" are the key words here... LOL... I tried doing that when the polish was still wet, didn't work out.

Well, it's nearly midnight and all I've managed to do is paint my MB purple. I am just not daring enough to go any further! I've tried practicing swirls, tie-dye, even a fireworks design. I'm just too afraid of messing up my band. Wish I could get someone else to do it!

Any recommendations for acrylic paints? I've had the worst luck with clumping and cracking. I used nail polish for mine because I loved the tie dyed idea, but my nieces want more of a water-colored effect look that I just can't get with the nail polish. Not having much luck with the acrylic paints, but I think its the brands I've tried. Thanks in advance.

Tie dye effect?!

Question on painting the bands. Do you straighten it out and then paint with polish? Or do you keep it closed and paint while it's curved? Or does it even make a difference? I hope this makes sense. I noticed with stickers and duct tape that there are creases. I wanted to make sure I didn't have any cracking while painting. This might have been asked already, but by page 52 I stopped reading every post! ha

Yes- it is dark blue nail polish. The white is acrylic - but since it's on the stiff portion, I'm not worried about it cracking. I put clear coat polish on the painted bits. Thanks!

We kept ours rounded but not completely closed. We just made ours so I don't know how they will hold up.

So I've spent a week reading through all this, saving the pics for reference, & racking my brain to figure out what I want to do. I finally realized I want to bling the ever-loving-crap out on my MB.

(Still no clue on what to do for my fiancé's MB. He says he'll be happy with whatever I do. The kicker is he absolutely couldn't care what I do to it. Still can't think of anything.)

Anyhoo, I saw the awesome stuff & I know people are jsut now discovering the scrapbook isle. I just discovered the nail art section of Amazon. Thought I'd share some finds on here so people can still have fun w/ out having to stress about recreating the mind-blowingly awesome art in the previous posts.

I use Amazon Smile. When I do, they donate a portion of my order cost to St. Judes while I pay what I would have anyway. You can pick a different charity (if you haven't already) or just go to regular Amazon. I was going to post links to each item, but as I was going about that I realized some items have different options. Instead of just having different item pages, each option is a different item. It made filling up my cart confusing. There is everything from Tinkerbell, bunnies, rocking horses, crosses, skulls, & anchors. Oh, my.

Thinking of doing something steampunk. My question is has anyone tried any metal decorations or wire? Wondering if it has any effect on the RFID signal?
