Hi, has anyone got a copy of the room service menu?? I've found them for the Disney hotels but was wondering what the HRH offered??

thanks alot!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It is veeeeery expensive. We got lunch once and breakfast another time. I was not impressed with the lunch. The breakfast was excellent. I thought better than what we got in The Kitchen. Just have a hard time with the price. Only did it because I was very sick during our stay.

thanks ever so much for that link :lovestruc - thats a big help. Although its expensive we may just opt for it on our first night as I expect the children will be ready to drop after the long flight!!;)

thanks again!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I am not sure of the hours of operation in conjuction with your arrival, but there is a nice bar next to the pool where one of you could order some burgers, etc and bring it back to the room. We don't do the pools and had no idea this place existed until the day we checked out. Food was good and better priced than room service.

thanks for that Sleepy!! I had already checked out the pool bar menu and that looks good :) - I didn't realise I could bring it back to the room - so I guess that would be a great option - thanks ever so much!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

P.s. - we arrive around 6.30pm - would they still serve food at the pool bar then??

We ordered the room service pizza one night and none of us thought it was good at all.I had trouble sleeping that night because of heartburn and a reoccuring dream about the bill.

They will serve your food in a plastic closed container and will give you ketchup/mayo utensiles, etc. We took ours back up to the club lounge after we had checked out. It was around 1pm. I don't know what time the pool bar closes. My guess is whenever the pool closes or shortly before :confused3

We bought food at the pool bar once at 9pm, you should be fine. :cool1:

Just remembered that HRH automatically added the tip to the room service charge when we were there in 06. Check the receipt. We did not figure it out until after giving a cash tip. We mentioned it to the person who delivered the food and he said yes, the tip is already added. He made alot of money with that delivery.

Honestly, and this is certainly JMHO (although it seems micksterlee shares my feelings about the pizza :) ), but HRH room service is AWFUL!!! On 2 occasions we were grossly disappointed: in taste, value, prompt delivery (although they will tell you the expected wait time), and food temp.

Instead, the Beach Club (their pool bar) will arrange for your meals to go in plastic containers and give you plastic silverware packets, etc. This is what my husband and I did after being disgusted the second time we ordered room service. The Beach Club is MUCH better than room service. Also, the food will be warm and there is less of a wait; only drawback is you have to wait for it. (Here's what my hubby and I did when I fell ill and didn't feel like going out: we each had our cell phones, and I made him go down to the Beach Club and call me to read me the menu ) And, it's less expensive than room service. If you get in too late though, you're going to be stuck with room service. If you are stuck, avoid the pizza at all costs. And the grilled cheese is GROSS.

I agree with you on that. We had both. I could not believe how much one pizza and one grilled cheese cost. Both were cold and terrible. However, we were impressed with the breakfast, including the temperature. I actually liked it better than The Kitchen (i know that seems impossible, but we had issues with some of the temps/taste at Kitchen).

I have had room service at HRH a few times, and although the temp of the food is not as warm as if you were dining on site at the Kitchen, I didn't expect it to be. Any food that has to travel does not usually stay hot. As for value, I knew what the prices were before I ordered, so that was no surprise. I usually order chicken wings or fingers, and they were always very good. I have never ordered a grilled cheese from room service because usually any grilled cheese becomes inedible after 5 minutes no matter who makes it. As for pizza, I would rather walk to Sal's or drive 5 minutes to Carmella's than take a chance on room service pizza. Remember, you are paying for the comfort of staying in your room to eat, hence the title "room service".:)

For the record, I've never had a problem with room service at RPR or PBH. Just HRH.

Another alternative (instead of room service, which I personally have not tried but my niece did and she had the same comments as above) is go to the CityWalk there is a Pastamore Express on the side of the restaurant and they will serve you pizza by the slice and its very good and its a cheap option. Latin Quarter also has an "express" window where they serve some spanish specialities if you are into that (I love the "empanadas," they are beef turnovers) and cuban sandwiches.

Also there are tons of restaurants around CityWalk where you can get a burger to go. We did this one night at Latin Quarter, we got the cuban sandwiches to go and it turned out to be quite a meal. One is enough to share between 2 people, they give you a the sandwich plus white rice and black beans. Very good.

There is a site that has some coupons also for some of the CW restaurants, it is http://www.orlandocoupons.com/directory_cat_list.php?cat_id=1&PHPSESSID=8d1bbece5b2d8a4dbd86104b574c3e51
HTH! :thumbsup2

We can be safe to assume everyone would expect room service to be more expensive, but unless you have ever seen a pricing list, the word expensive has different meaning. I see nothing wrong with forewarning a person of the true expense if they have never been before and are planning to order upon arrival.
When comparing food temps of room service and dining in The Kitchen, what you have said is not always true. I got room service for breakfast one morning. WHile everything else was of good temperature, the potatoes were hot. I went to The Kitchen another morning. The potatoes were very cold. I brought this to the attention of the kitchen staff and they told me they were cooking a fresh batch. A few minutes later, they brought me a bowl of "fresh" potatoes that were not any warmer than the old potatoes on the serving line. So, in this case, my room service potatoes were by far hotter than "fresh" potatoes inside the restaurant.

I think expectation depends on previous experience. This includes temp, portion and pricing.

A fresh batch ? :rolleyes1

I would say the "fresh" batch was not as"fresh" as they would have you believe. Potatoes take time to cook, and unless you waited 10-15 minutes for them to arrive, they weren't "fresh".

Much like you, I highly doubt they were fresh.  They told me they were currently cooking more potatoes when I told them the ones on the line were cold. I did wait a decent amount of time. I just politely pushed the bowl to the side and finished the edible stuff. :)

That reminds me of a Benny Hill sketch, where Benny Hill is a waiter, and he is pouring a glass of wine to a picky customer. When the customer tastes the wine, he waves his hand to the waiter, indicating he wants a new bottle. The waiter takes two steps back, turns around, and puts a new label on the same bottle, and pours some for the customer to taste, the customer , upon tasting the "new" bottle, pinches his cheek , as if to say "perfect". The waiter then looks at the camera and gives it one of these :rolleyes1

I thought it was hilarious :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
