Hair Dryers on the Wonder?

Are the hairdryers on board good quality? My hair retains a lot of moisture and usually the types of hairdryers that are on cruise ships and in hotels are so low power that it takes me forever to dry my hair but I would love to not have to pack one.

I bring my own as I use a ("professional") 2,000 watt blow dryer and the best you'll find when traveling is the standard 1875 watt, if not less.

My hair doesn't take effort to dry, so I won't vouch for the quality - but FYI, the Wonder has those stuck-to-the-wall dryers AND a regular one in one of the drawers by the desk. Or at least, that's where I found it. I have to assume the latter is a higher-quality dryer!

Yes, look in the desk drawers. They have a babyliss brand hair dryer and it even includes a diffuser. No complaints at all. I'm a firm believer in packing as little extra as possible and if I don't have to pack a a hair dryer, I'm not going to! I was very pleased with the one on the Wonder.

Just got off the Wonder and found the hair dryer to be great. I have long wavy hair that likes to retain moisture as well :-)

On the Wonder now and yes as PP's have said, there are two in the cabins. A museum piece mounted by the sink and another plug-in located in one of the drawers. DW actually had better luck with the museum piece in drying her hair as the plug-in actually did not get hot enough.

I just got off the Wonder this weekend and I found both the dryers to be a disappointment. I have long thick hair and the BaByliss took 20-25 minutes to dry my hair (it did not seem hot at all) and the mounted one would have been even worse. My dryer at home takes about 10 minutes.

Did you make sure to plug it in the 220v outlet ? In the 110v, it will not run as efficiently.

I'm surprised because I found this thing to be on par with my full size dryer at home. It's fantastic. Maybe yours was on the fritz or, as another poster pointed out, you didn't have it plugged into the appropriate outlet.

I'm pretty certain it was in 220 (that is what my husband remembers as well). I was pretty shocked because BaByliss are typically good dryers.

That is what I was thinking at the time, that perhaps it was just at the end of it's life!
