Guaranteed rates on the EBTA

Hello there,

I am thinking about joining the EBTA in May 2025.
There are guaranteed rates available for ocean view rooms, but not for inside or verandah. Both room types still have plenty of availability, so it seems.
Any chance they will add guaranteed rates for inside or verandah 5 months in advance? Or has that ship sailed?

I have a lot of flexibility at work, so I can wait to a later moment to book. Book now or wait till 90 days before departure when final payments need to be finalized?
As the EBTA only happens once a year, and the ship/length of cruise has changed often in the past few years on this route, I am not sure what would be best.
What would you do?

Thanks for your help!

( Currently $700 difference between lowest ocean view and lowest verandah rate, which is only about $50 a night. Very tempting :) )

I don’t have any advice on booking/waiting but PIF date for the EBTA is 120 days in advance, not 90.

The Fantasy is also known to have terrible vibrations in the aft, personally I couldn’t risk that on such a long trip (and have booked forward for this reason.)

The guaranteed rate on the ocean view for this cruise is no OGT. IGT, OGT and VGT should be available soon (120 days before sail date). I am anxiously waiting for them too 🙂

For the WBTA 2024 there were OGT and VGT available for a long time. And even closer to sailing date IGT popped up as well.

Good point, I have never sailed on the Fantasy, but have heard those stories about the vibration.

Thanks! I will wait with you! Just to see the difference between the rates.

I was going to write the same about the rates not being reduced rates yet. We are waiting, too.

Also, @Karin1984 abd @European there is a cruise thread for this cruise going on. Unfortunately it doesn’t have any real activity yet. I always enjoy chatting with fellow DISers pre-cruise in case anyone of you is interested!
Thank you! I'm on the EBTA as well and will look for this thread! Excited to hopefully meet some fellow DISers onboard! :)

One time we booked aft not knowing any better. By the end of the cruise i wanted to scream.
But that was several years ago. They haven't fixed that problem yet?

No, they have not. Maybe they'll try to address it during the dry dock later in 2025? Though if they haven't fixed it by now, I don't have high hopes that they will . . .

They supposedly fixed it during COVID. However I’ve been on the Fantasy since COVID and it’s definitely not fixed. I’m wondering if it’s not actually fixable.

Or, it is fixable, but would take way too much money and/or time 'out of service' to do so.

@Karin1984 @Flossbolna GTY are now available!
Oh wow.
While waiting I had already decided, let's go for a 7-day EU cruise. More expensive per day, but save money with the flight, less vacation days etc. Ready to book.

Then, last night, I was already in bed when your message came in. I had a look and started doubting my decision. Go to sleep with the thought "let's think about it tomorrow".

Now I wake up, and the inside cabins GTY have sold like crazy?! I am convinced last night I saw a price of 3K for 1 person in an inside cabin. Now it's at 4.2K for inside and 3.7K for Ocean View....

I think I'll stick with my EU cruise. :P

The westbound TransAtlantic last year sailed with around 2000 passengers. It was nice not to have that many people on board! The Inside cabins tend to sell out fast because unless you are a fan of endless ocean vistas, there is not much to see.
