Grating parmesan cheese in a food processor?

does that work? I imagine that if it does, you need to use the S shaped metal blade?
 
I just got a food processor and have grated cheese...it came out a little more grainy that the stuff they grate at the store but yes it does work.

ETA: Yes, that is the blade I used.

OK, I will give it a whirl... pun intended. I was hoping it would come out "almost" powder like.

Maybe if you pulse it longer it will...I am a newbie with the thing though so maybe someone else will have better info for both of us.
 
I pulverize my parmesan that way. It mixes and melts better that way than it does if you grate it, IMO.

I will NEVER grate parmesan again by hand unless I just need a tiny bit.... it was so easy and came out perfectly.
 
This is the only way I grate parm cheese now. The longer I leave it on, the finer the grind becomes. I've gotten it to the point where it was ground too finely. (Perhaps it depends on the food processor. I can understand that some may not be able to grind as finely as others.)
