Grand Floridian shouldn’t allow non hotel guests

Yeah maybe this ACTUALLY makes me sound like an unwashed peasant but I've seen videos of various club levels at Disney resorts and I'm like.............dang that looks really sad LOL. Absolutely not worth the inflated price tag.
The spread, or the nasty people wearing baseball caps?

At Tokyo Disney Resort, if you're not a guest at the new Fantasy Springs Hotel, you ain't gettin' in, even just to walk through. They have a park entrance (not unlike GCH) as well as a monorail stop close by. They actually have two distinct properties, with the attached Grand Chateau being extra-exclusive, and even regular FSH guests can't even get past the doorway off the lobby into that building.

Seems like a lot of work and expense To keep the folks that swim amongst gargantuan foosball players from invading the pool in the land of the giant Mickey Mouse telephones
I don't know which resort you're referring to, but don't all the pools have fences now? If so, easy enough to restrict access.

"Yet Disney has been selling gingerbread and increasing the nightly rate. The AP rate for the cheapest mid-December room in the main building was ~$990 last year, whereas it's $1841 this year (before taxes)."

Yes, I said "main building". That's where Royal Palm and the majority of all the club rooms are located.
Ok I’ve never made it past sucking up free amenities in the lobby and riding the resort loop round and round so don’t know the main building from an outbuilding ….So club level then … still can’t imagine a 100% increase over last year but guess you would know … be interesting what the reason might be but I’m reasonably sure it ain’t because of gingerbread and its associated gawkers

Every resort has issues. One thing that bugs me is people staying at Swan/Dolphin guests use the Boardwalk MK bus because theirs only goes to TTC. The other night after MVMCP, the line was huge, not everyone got on the first bus, I was standing by the back door hanging on. We were walking from the bus stop to the lobby and a large group took the steps down to the boardwalk. They were not Boardwalk guests, it was after midnight, nothing was open.
The BCV bus is no joke either. This summer we did rope drop at MK an hour and a half before and the bus line was all the way back to the bridge. Luckily, they sent additional busses after about 35 minutes.

See infiltrators are invading even the peasants quarters …. Get off my Boards!!!!

They got Gingerbread in Tokyo?

I believe the price increase has nothing to do with the "gawkers". More likely it's due to GF having less scaffolding this year.

It’s almost like Disney should prevent non-guests from using your resort’s transportation…

😱

You nailed it with ‘if occupancy dropped’ which apparently it hasn’t so though the hifalutin bemoan the unwashed stealing ‘amenities’ (ie lobby space and their special train) they don’t seem to mind it enough to vacation elsewhere which means the issue isn’t really an issue but a mere annoyance of which there are plenty of to go around for every guest at every hotel on the property.
This whole thread is a testament to the fact that people are getting fed up with it.

Everyone has a tipping point and once reached it can be very difficult to win them back.

“You know what honey, let’s just stay at BLT next year” or “Let’s not visit WDW at the Holiday time” or “We can take a WDW break for a while, it’s just gotten to expensive and crowded” or “We can take a Disney break, the quality isn’t what it used to be and it has gotten ridiculously overpriced for what they are offering”.

I know I'm pointing out the obvious but the DIS is a small quite the minority of guests at the Disney parks. There are certainly some posters who are over it but then others who are not negating each other generally speaking.

So when you say "people" just remember people is only those speaking here, not representative of Disney guests and some sort of presumption of the changing tides of guests staying at any one hotel on Disney property much less to discern it's the holiday decorations driving it.

My question is why did they eliminate the Swan/Dolphin MK bus. If they are saving money, then why should Boardwalk busses that are partially paid by DVC dues be taking their guests.
Haven’t stayed at S/D in about 8 years but that makes no sense … they ran buses to MK and AK back then at least … as a side note the bus stop at the BW is the worst organized stop on Disney property for no apparent reason except to screw with we peasants

Edit: According to the Disney website The S/D MK bus drops at the TTC … did not know that, don’t recall that being the case last time we were there …
