I was watching the goofy movie last night on Disney + since its the 30th anniversary it brought a tear to my eye because I was born 8 months after the movie was in theaters and released on VHS tape. Somebody should write to Disney and Bob Iger to make another Goofy Movie 30 years later today. I miss the 90s.

I have been loving all the love for A Goofy Movie's anniversary. There have been some cute clips online and the documentary "Not Just a Goof" was a good watch too.

I remember watching A Goofy Movie at school during third grade with my teacher and I remember how funny it was and how Goofy and Max made a funny father/son team and it's hard to believe that after Goof Troop ended Disney was sure making a lot of plans for Goofy to star in his own series of movies. And starting with A Goofy Movie this moved Goofy into being a superstar. And it's no secret that after A Goofy Movie was released that a sequel An Extremely Goofy Movie followed that continued the adventures of Goofy and Max. But part of the success of the movie was that it was very 90's and you can tell what it's about just by watching A Goofy Movie. The movie had a really awesome soundtrack and with Tevin Campbell coming off the success of his I'm Ready album Tevin's songs really gave A Goofy Movie an R&B vibe and the song On The Open Road is funny as well with Goofy and Max dueting as Goofy teaches Max the ABC's of being a teenager. I wonder why Disney didn't make a third Goofy movie because this movie is full of humor and they could've made a trilogy of Goofy movies

Well, the fact is that A Goofy Movie didn't do that well at the box-office, however it did sell very well on home video - well enough for a direct-to-video sequel to be made. There are a lit of reasons for the box-office failure and they are covered in the documentary. Basically, with Katzenberg out, no-one was there to champion the film. All these years later, it has become more than a cult-classic, but a very fondly remembered movie.

I have never seen A Goofy Movie....We just missed it when my oldest son was little. He wasn't as into the animated movies/shows back then, only saw a few of the Disney movies like Lion King (his first movie in the theater....which he did NOT like, ) Aladdin, and maybe BatB. Then, with the younger two kids, we owned almost every Disney movie on DVD, and plenty of the straight to video ones, but still, missed seeing A Goofy movie. I think it's time to devote a night to watch it for the anniversary.
