Good Walking Shoes

Hokas are to bulky and have too much of a heel-to-toe drop for me now.
I've been wearing Altras recently and love them, specifically Altra Torin 7s

I do agree, they are bulky and take getting used to. I'll have to check out Altras though.

I live in Canada so I don't think we have Road Runner Sports or if Hokas are sold here. I will be checking stores here. To add to it all, I have very wide feet. So, not easy buying shoes or boots. Just looking for suggestions. Thanks!
My spouse just noticed that there is a Hoka store in Orlando. Might be something to check out during your next trip.

Does anyone have suggestions of good walking shoes. I walk quite a bit each day outside and sometimes have sore feet. Time to look for a proper pair of walking shoes. Right now it is winter and wearing boots doesn't help. Looking forward to spring....

Any suggestions?
If you’re in Canada, try the running room. They sell New Balance, Hokas, etc. all the main brands and they can help with fit, etc. Sport Chek has many brands as well and are very helpful. I have New Balance fresh foam and a New Balance specific walking shoe (I don’t know the model) and I have a lot of foot issues. They’re really good.

Will have to check these stores out. Not sure if we have them in Quebec or if they go under another name. Thanks!

We have a store called Fleet Feet. The measure your walking pattern, step, weight, etc. then recommend different shoes. Typically for me it’s Hokas or Brooks. Brooks works best for me as I have a wider than average foot.

Hope this helps.

Most recently I’ve been wearing On Cloud cloudmonster running shoes for Disney or similar situations. Very lightweight but big soles for standing on concrete. Very easy to dry out in the event of rain. I’ve also used Hokas or New Balance in the past few years.

Brooks also has some good lightweight running shoes that I’ve tried on but haven’t bought yet.
