Decisions, decisions...Looking to get rid of my second minivan and moving into the SUV world...After 7 and a half years and 2 minivans I feel I have now graduated...I am looking at the above cars, anyone have them, give me pros and cons would so appreciate it...Thanks again :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I don't know anything about your first three choices but did have a Ford Edge for three years. I loved that car, it is very roomy and handles beautifully. It has decent fuel economy and is very gutsy - quite sporty. I think it is a great replacement for a mini van. When we got our new vehicle DH wanted a Taurus ( also a great vehicle) but I wish we had stuck with the Edge.

Pretty sure the Edge doesn't have a third row seat, unlike the others. And, it doesn't get a very good rating in Consumer Reports. So if you still need the seating capacity of a minivan, one of the others might be a better choice. We test drove all four of these in the past month or so, my fav. is the Enclave, just for styling reasons though. My DH likes the Acura MDX the best - another one in the same category of those you listed.

I've had my Enclave since July. I LOVE it!!!!!!!! It drives very nicely and looks great !! I had a Sienna before and can't believe how much I like the way the Enclave drives compared to the Sienna. It seats 7 and I don't think it seems to squishy. The back row is probably best for kids with shorter legs but we don't need it too often. I just love it!!!

Coming up to 3 years with my Enclave and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!
I have the 4 Captains chairs and spli bench in the back row. It's been a pleasure...:)

DD19 has an '07 Lincoln MKX (same as Edge platform) and it is awesome!! She loves that car. She got it about 2 months ago when she traded her Mustang to get it. There's not anything that car doesn't have and it was much cheaper than an Edge. I can't imagine why it was cheaper to have more stuff on it but it sure is nice!

We have the Acadia. It took some getting used to after years of driving a minivan. The biggest issue was the rear doors. My kids were used to sliding doors. In a parking lot they could just open them up and jump out. Now I am always yelling watch the doors! :rotfl: They probably think I'm crazy, but I don't want them banging into another car.

Their is tons of room for passengers, but less cargo space than in my minivan. I used to be able to fit a double stroller without taking off the canopy in the back of the minivan, but now I have to take the canopy off. I also could fit a umbrella stroller in the back of my minivan without folding it up first. There is no way I can do that in the Acadia. I can however fit 6 carseats in the Acadia. We have the 8 passenger seating. (I am a daycare provider, and I transport kids to preschool sometimes so that is why these things are important to me. :rotfl:)

Anyhow, my DH works for a GM supplier, so I always encourage people to buy the GM products!!! :thumbsup2

We have the 4 captains chairs and split bench in the back with our Traverse. :)

The Edge only seats 5, so if you're looking for something that holds more people, you'll have to cross it off your list. :)

I bought a used Enclave in May through autotrader.com. I have never loved a vehicle more! We first looked at an Acadia and while it's the same body, it felt very truck-like.The Enclave seemed so luxurious compared to it.

I specifically looked for the 4 captain's chairs and the split 3rd row. I also needed all wheel or 4 wheel drive. I had a Yukon XL and was ready to downsize. I still wanted seating for 7, and didn't want another minivan (had a Chrysler Town & Country before the Yukon).

Using autotrader to do my research was very helpful - it is so easy to compare different models. And then find one you want and look close to home. It really made this car buying experience super easy. This was a 2007 Enclave with 45,000 miles on it in excellent condition with all the bells and whistles. Love it!

My MIL bought a brand new Enclave and I drool over it. IMO, it is not the same price point as the others you have listed.

We were recently in the market for a 3rd row SUV and looked at the above - except the Edge, which only seats 5. I ended up with a Mazda CX-9. It's built on the Edge platform but is longer with a 3rd row of seating. I absolutely love it and for the price of a gently used one, it was a great value for us.

The Traverse was the other one we tried to purchase but couldn't find one in our price point. They were still pretty new when we were looking. The Acadia has some major reliability issues according to Consumer Reports. Matter of fact, I inquired on several and had them email me the Carfax and every single one of them had an issue. Maybe the new ones have been improved, just something to keep in mind.

Have fun shopping!

I hate to burst all your bubbles, but you do know that the above listed vehicles are just mini-vans with swing out doors instead of sliders....image sells...

All are nice vehicles though...

I personally love the Acadia. It has a sharp look and plenty of room. Nobody will think you are a soccer mom in that vehicle!

The Edge may be a bit small.

We haven't had any issues with our Acadia yet. Its a 2009. There is a seat belt recall that we need to check into.

Sure feels NOTHING like a Mini van! It's the most beautiful car I have ever owned and I have had some great Minivans!

I totally agree!!!! I've had 2 minivans and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Enclave!!!!

I had to pick DD's car up from the dealer today and was halfway to the grocery but still drove home so I could drive my Enclave!!! ( IT was only a few minute drive but still!!!)

Well I'm looking too and today sat in the Buick, The Acadia and the Tahoe(traverse was too small)

I thought the buick was nice= acadia nicer. Tahoe expensive and didn't feel like it.

And with all the issues with cars not selling I was expecting a decent discount. Nope. They were all rather expensive so I walked. I want to check out the Honda Pilot.

The Traverse/Acadia and the Enclave are all basically the same car. Tail lights and headlights are different and they are detailed inside differently but body wise, same car. Not sure how the Traverse can be smaller?:confused3

Hmm it might have been the "size" of the model they were showing me. I was annoyed because I was seeing top of the line on one and bottom of the line on another. One XL on not. I have to go back and look at it again. I think it was the cheaper of the 3 so it would be a good fit.

There's also the Saturn-Outlook..same car
Not sure which one costs the least?:confused3

Wait they don't make saturns anymore right? I think they are phasing them all out. Or that could also be wrong seems my car info is all off base.
