Sooo... when we go to WDW at the end of July, I will only be 20 (my bday's this coming Saturday, in fact :cool1:). I can't wait to turn 21 next year so I can experience "Drinking Around the World." I have gotten a virgin drink of some kind at the stand at Japan, but didn't know if this is possible at most places. Can you get pretty much any mix drink "Virgin"? This is probably a stupid question, but for some reason, I can see Disney not making them virgin. I don't know why, it just crossed my mind. :lmao: So, where else can you get virgin drinks that are very tastey?? We're staying at the Swan, so anywhere around those pools where you can order drinks to sip on poolside?? Where is there a good Pina Colada? We're eating dinner at San Angel Inn one night... ??. Thanks for helping this anxious drinker- just wanna try to keep up with my older brother!! :rotfl:

happy birthday!
have fun at disney.
if you go into the bar in epcot (pub?) they can make virgin drinks.
pretty sure around the world and if they are premade "frozen drinks"...you wont be able to.
hope someone gives you a better reply ;)

At most of the kiosks, the drinks are pre-mixed, so you're not likely to have any luck there. There's often a non-alcoholic alternative offered. You're better off at an actual bar with a bartender present to mix the drinks (Rose & Crown or La Cava del Tequila)

Hi, totally agree. In Mexico, virgin drinks are in the pavillion at the bar...and they are good!
enjoy with no hangover!!

Funny you should ask about the Pina Colada, as our boys were very interested in non-alcoholic Pina Coladas when we were there in March!

Ohana made non-alcoholic Pina Coladas for the boys. We stayed at BC, so I asked about that on the BC thread and Hurricane Hanna experts said that we could get a non-alcoholic Pina Colada there, too!

Awesome! Like I said, we're eating dinner at Mexico, and we travel around the WS quite often, so I'm excited to try a virgin Margarita!

I'm not sure what would be *in* a virgin margarita ... a margarita is tequila, triple sec, lime, and sometimes some fruit juice if it's a flavored margarita. So a margarita without alcohol is ... fruit juice with added lime?

Well yes, that would be the right way to do it. But sadly, unless the menu or you specify otherwise, asking for a Margarita most places is most likely going to get you something from a "margarita" mix (or they'll use sweet and sour mix with orange juice :headache:)

OP, just be aware that at some places even hand mixed drinks won't necessarily have a substitution. First thing that comes to mind are drinks like the Welsh Dragon in UK: they might be able to give you the OJ & Pineapple that is in it, but it would be much harder to replicate the flavors of Creme de Menthe, Melon Liqueur and Peach Schnapps. And without that...well...it's just pineapple-y OJ ;) But I'm quite sure you will find many other options available to you :thumbsup2

I'm glad you asked this actually. I'll be about seven months pregnant on our next trip, but I'd still like to enjoy a pina colada (sans the booze) while on our vacation :)

You will be able to order drinks by the pool at the Swan. It is a full bar and I've ordered "virgin" drinks for my niece/nephews there and didn't have a problem.

I can tell you that the Rose and Crown (and the pub but we were in the actual restaurant) makes a VERY good virgin strawberry daquiri. Any places with an actual bar can make any drink virgin. Any kiosk type place at Disney World that has the premixed drinks will not be able to do that. For your dinner at San Angel, just order a virgin whatever (although there you might want to go "native" and get a margarita) and enjoy.

And I highly recommend Disney's frozen lemonades while you are in the parks. Simply delicious.

Will you have to pay the same price for the drink even if there is no alcohol in it? When I was there in May the price was over $9 for one drink:eek:

Why would you pay that price for something without alcohol?????

Wondering too about the price of virgin drinks. I'd like to enjoy a few too while I'm there pregnant, but I don't want to pay the same price as the alcoholic version.

Yes, we love the frozen lemonades! I have memories of being little and drinking those- a while back every year we would get them at MGM and drink them on the bus back to our resort in the afternoon.

I would also like to know if they cost the same as alcoholic drinks- any chance virgins are a little cheaper??

I know you can get the virgin Pina Colada's at the Swan and Dolphin pool. I'm not sure about the price though.

I've gotten a virgin Pina Colada everywhere I've ever asked for it. I don't remember all of the places, but definitely the bar next to Ohana in the Polynesian, and the AKL, Polynesian, Contemporary, and CBR pool bars.

And IIRC, they weren't charged as full "alcohol" price--I think they may have been $4-5 but don't quote me on that. My DDad always paid for them...:rolleyes1

I've been at WDW while pregnant several times, and I've always been able to order virgin drinks at bars w/o a problem.

Depends on where your "most" places are. I live in New Mexico and people would rather go thirsty than use margarita mix here (which is why we never drink our margaritas frozen--you only need to freeze a margarita when you've used bad, cheap ingredients). And I'm sure the same holds true for La Cava del Tequila, which is what the OP asked about.
