Gatorade ?

I plan on bringing my own water into the parks and I was going to purchase a can of gatorade powder when I do my grocery shopping so I can add it to my water. Does anyone know if they sell the powder in packets or just the can. And if they do sell packets where do I find them?

Ive never seen it in packets only the orange holder and the larger metal can-

I wouldnt try to take the powder into the parks (ie premix it before) as security might not allow it (think anthrax and other powders...)

I wouldnt worry about taking the powder in. I had no problem taking in powdered baby formula. It seems like I have seen evelopes of Gatorade, but much like the large envelopes of koolaid. Seems that a container of it would be cleaner.

Envelopes are easier to pack than cans. If you have trouble finding the envelopes, try a local sporting goods store or ask a local high school coach where they buy it for the teams. Many times you can get a decent deal with those people

I have seen the envelopes but they make a very large amount if I remember correctly, I think it might have been a gallon or something like that but it was a long time ago when we bought it so I am not entirely sure.

I bought the large can of gatorade. In the past I have measure out the desired amount and put them in baggies. It was a little difficult to pour the mix into the water bottle, but otherwise it worked fine. This year I have purchased a container in the baby section of Walmart. It has 3 chambers and is designed for powdered formula. You can turn the top to access each section individually. I think it will work, but I have yet to test it.

I premeasured for 20 oz bottles on our last trip in the snack size Ziploc baggies. Worked wonders for the water fountain taste. We just snipped the corner off the baggie and poured into the bottle. Didn't know about asking for a cup of ice though. Will remember that one this year.

Also, Crystal Light has now come out with individual packets (little tubes about the size of your finger) that are premeasured for 20 ounce bottles. The local PharmaCare here has them. You just dump them in the bottle and shake. Come in 3 flavors, Lemonade, Peach Tea and Iced Raspberry, I think. I checked on the Crystal Light webpage, but didn't see them.

I read a while back the Big Lots had little packs for .25 each. None in my area had any, but you might want to check where you live.

just wondering you guys have found gaterade in pckects other than lemon lime. my kids don't prefer that flavor so all i've found is big containers of that flavor. we always buy bottles when we get there.
