Gate Checking Bob double stroller

Hi all!

We've got a surprise trip to WDW coming up in Jan and we'll be flying out this time. I've read numerous threads about gate-checking strollers, but I haven't seen much mention of the very large jogging strollers. We have a Bob double jogger that is great because our 7yo daughter can still crash in it when she's exhausted and even with her weight it is still easy to push around.

However, I'm wondering if it'll be too big to gate check? It folds in half from front to back, but has very large tires and doesn't "lock" closed so it's quite cumbersome. I'm just wondering if other folks have gate checked these larger strollers recently.

Thanks!

Hi! We have a Bob duallie, but we don't take it to WDW... We bought a double umbrella stroller for there because it folds up well. I love our Bob (ours is a revolution), but it takes up so much room when it's folded!! I'd rather pay to rent than bring ours. I'm curious if anyone has done it!

we took our Bob revolution Duallie this past Sept and LOVED having it there. We checked it with our luggage with no problems at all (no cost either). We couldn't find a bag to put it into, so we made our own out of a heavy canvas with a velcro closure and added a handle. Worked great for us.

As for taking it on the busses, DH would stand with it by the back door so that it was out of everyones way. Never had a problem with it on the busses. We were glad we brough ours.

@MommytoaSweetie, we loved having our revolution dual in the park! It was sooooo much easier to push around than the rental strollers and wasn't that much bigger. We did have to fold it up on the buses and we ended up taking 2 rows facing each other to all fit in with the stroller. On the monorail we just left it open and locked the wheels with no issues.

@mamaLori05, I hadn't thought of checking it with the luggage. I was afraid it would get damaged. Though I'll have to look at making a canvas bag for it! I think that is a great Christmas craft for my wife and daughter to tackle!

Thanks!

Our bag was pretty simple. Basically like a big pillowcase with a flap that came over the top. For handles I bought 3 inch thick straps and tied them all the way around the stroller and looped them through buckles to keep them in place. We carried it by the extra strap material. So in other words, I had to unloop the straps and take them off before I could open the bag and take out the stroller. Not the best explanation, but hopefully you understand what I am talking about.
I also went and bought a 2 or 3 inch thick piece of foam. I cut the foam up and tied it around all the metal parts I thought could possibly get damaged, like the metal adjustable springs on the side, and around the front wheel well (The part that stuck out). We also left the wheels attached to give it some extra support. The bag came back dirty and had some tears, but at least it wasn't our stroller. Everytime we travel our stroller and car seat bags seem to get ripped, but everything inside the bags is always fine. I'm always glad we had the items in a bag.
