Favorite restaurants that no longer exist?

We also use to have a place in Baltimore called York Steakhouse. I don't know if it was a chain or not, but they had the best chicken and rolls. Well at least to an 8 year old kid they did!

Kenny Roger's Roasters had good creamed spinach. As a pp mentioned, Snackville Junction...:sad1: I went there many times as a kid. They have a Choo Choo Johnny's in Frankfort. It is fun for the kids, but it is not quite the same!

I miss Chi Chi's soooo much! Their salsa was the best. The Chi Chi's brand you buy at the grocery store is not the same.

I miss Pizzaria Uno's!!! Pretty much everywhere else around has NY style pizza, and while I love that, I also liked getting the occassional Chicago style from Uno's.

There's a Pizzaria Uno's in the Crossroads Shopping Center right by Downtown Disney. We go there almost every time we go to WDW! Love their pizza!

Farrell's:thumbsup2 Remember the big drum they would pound for your birthday?

Roy Rogers
Ponderosa- the food wasn't that good but it was cheap and dessert was included!

Just remembered one...D'Lite's. It was a chain that was supposed to be healthier than regular fast food (which probably explains why it went out of business  ). I remember stopping there a lot with my mom & brother after school on the way to swim practice (otherwise, we wouldn't eat a thing till we got home @ around 9 pm). Their potato skins were fantastic!

and Farrell's Ice Cream Parlors (Farrell's started closing after a plane crashed into one here in Sacramento in the 70's). I think there are still 2 operating somewhere.

omgosh i LOVED Farrells!!!!

I miss Kings Fork. I dont know if there are anymore left but my dad and I used to stop at the one in Bellingham Wa. I have such fond memories of that~

Marche in Boston
El Torito (no longer in MA)

TCBYs are getting harder and harder to find around here!

Now THAT'S a place I really miss! Ugh, there used to be one no more than 5 minutes away from me. I'd kill for a TCBY lemon yogurt right now.

When I was a kid there was a place called The Magic Pan (I think). They had great pigs in a blanket and a really good sweet mustard. Of course, I was a kid and that would be the type of fare I would remember.

Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour

We had a local organ pizza parlor. You could go get pizza and request songs for the man to play on the organ. Loved it!

Casa Bonita's BEFORE Taco Bueno bought it from the original family, there is still one in Denver and Tulsa, but they suck now.

I loved Casa Bonita! I had family in Tulsa and Denver and every single time we were in town we ate at Casa Bonita. As a kid, I loved raising the flag to ask for seconds and the sopapias (sp) were awesome.

I'm sad to hear they aren't the same as they once were.

Wow..memories! OK, Lums, for the hotdogs, ChiChi's for the chimichangas, and Mr Hero (They are in Ohio, but not here in Florida).
Arthur Treachers, Royal Castle, Fred Harveys, Joe Peeps Pizza, TastyBurger, Red Barn and Howard Johnson...

THe food at Casa Bonita is terrible!!!!! The restaurant itself is pretty cool, but you can't get in unless you buy dinner. My husband has lived here his whole life and said the food has always been bad.

Childhood favorites that are no longer around here....

Farrell's for sure, fun, patriotic and yummy!

Luv's BBQ Pit, this was a family favorite.

Tastee Freeze, I think they were replaced by Dairy Queen.

Not sure if I would frequent any of them now, but I do have fond memories;)

I loved to eat at Farrells when I was in high school. It had a fun atmosphere.

Anyone remember Shakeys Pizza? It wasn't the best pizza, but it had the same sort of astmosphere as Farrells. That's where I learned to "follow the bouncing ball" and do sing-alongs.

Mr. Steak was less than a mile from my house growing up. My parents liked to eat there.

Anyone remember Kings? We had one when I was young and I loved this triangular cheese thing that they served. It was sort of like fried cheese with lots of breading or batter, but the flavor was great. At least I thought it was when I was a kid.

One of the only places I'd eat hamburgers when I was little was a drive-in called Sandy's. And across the street was my brother's first job at Burger Chef.

Magic Pan was DH's favorite. He really misses it.

Little Italianos wasn't a chain, but they had the best deep dish pizza ever. I still dream about those pies.

Beverly's was a fun place to eat. There is still one in Oklahoma City, but not the one where we used to go. They served their famous chicken in the rough, but I loved their chicken and dumplings.

In Kansas City I used to love Wimpy's pizza burgers. The cook put the sauce on with a big ol' paintbrush. They were so good. They also made an Italian steak sandwich. I have often wondered if they are still there. It wasn't in the best part of town.

This is making me hungry. Bet I think of more.
