Fantasmic Thread!

Hi all! Last minute packing question - what type/size of blankets do people usually use? I’m assuming if it’s 55 degrees at 9pm, the ground is still pretty cold and a blanket is recommended? We have a yeti lowlands picnic blanket, but wondering if it’s too big. 79 x 55 x 0.25 inches. We have a group of 6. I just want to make sure we are not being rude or obnoxious, and also prioritizing what to pack.

I would pick a blanket that just fits your group without taking up extra space.

We have something similar that we got free from a vendor - waterproof on one side, fleece on the other. When we do dining packages, we are usually 3-4 people so ours is much smaller. If you are taking up more than where six people would sit without a blanket, a CM will tell you to fold up the blanket and scoot forward so others can sit in the area.

If that is what you have and it fits in a locker, then bring it but fold it in half or fold up the sides if you are taking more space than your party needs. Realistically, most people don't sit on blankets.

I’ve never done fantastic before. The booking id confusing. There are lunch and dinner times? We’re doing the WOC show and I’d like good seats to fantasmic….ive never seen it

If you search for Fantasmic Dining Package on the Disneyland app, you will find a listing that looks like the following.

For River Belle, you can choose either brunch or dinner depending on your schedule and which menu you prefer. For Rancho del Zocalo, if you choose the first show you will be offered lunchtime dining. If you choose the second show, you will be offered later dining. The RdZ menu for lunch and dinner are the same.

There is a third restaurant that offers a Fantasmic Dining Package - Cafe Orleans. If you want to dine at Cafe Orleans, you make a regular reservation for the restaurant. When you are seated, your wait staff will offer you the traditional menu or a prix fixe menu that includes Fantasmic dining seats. The price of Cafe Orleans is the same as River Belle. The Cafe Orleans viewing area is center stage compared to River Belle which is stage left.

After you dine at one of the Fantasmic Dining Package restaurants, you will receive a ticket to return later in the evening to view Fantasmic from the waterfront. The ticket will say to meet at Harbour Galley an hour before the show starts. At 7:45 pm (75 min before the first show) they start walking people from Harbor Galley to the roped off viewing areas. If you want a good seat, I would be in line by 7:30 pm.

This is the area where you will be sitting.

At night, it is roped off (this was 8 pm last May).

Wow. Thank you so much

How busy have the 10:30pm Fantasmic shows been? Wondering if I need a Fantasmic Package or will be likely to get a spot after fireworks? We will be there this Wednesday, March 19.

You can usually walk into a decent spot to view the show at 10:30pm.

Anyone know what was going on with tonight’s shows? No pyro, Peter Pan scene characters just stood there as did Maleficent. Gotta be honest, it looked somewhat ridiculous when she said “imagine this” and just stood there. Entertaining tho.

I agree that it is much easier for the second show. However, it is spring break and the parks are very crowded. I would have a plan in place for where you want to view the show and be in the general vicinity when fireworks end.

There are a lot of people leaving NOS after fireworks. It is quite dark so take that into account as well.

Were there fireworks? Was it windy? The footage I saw from last night looked very choreographed as if characters knew in advance.

Yes, fireworks went off as scheduled.

I did notice any wind nor did I see any advisories but maybe they had anticipated wind? That would make sense. So strange because if there’s winds, they usually make announcements that they will make a decision on the fireworks but that never happened.

What about rain? Was it raining earlier in the day? Sometimes they won't do the choreography if the ground is wet.

No rain. Just surprising. On a positive note, Minnie was on the Mark Twain. The last few times I saw the show, they had a penguin character (not Wheezy) I’m not familiar with. So they’re changing things up again!
