Back for your help again. :) A friend of mine in work has been going nuts the last few days trying to remember a name of a woman who used to have an exercise program on tv in the 80's. She used to wear leggins, have short brown hair ,skinny southern accent and it came on around suppertime or so. Ring a bell to anyone??

If it was short blond hair it would be Susan but I can't remember he accent or anything. I'm sure someone else here can help you though.

Sorry - the leggings part doesn't help. Everyone wore them whether we were exercising or not! :rotfl:

The only ones I remeber are Richard Simmons, Jane Fonda, Joanie Greggains, Jack LaLanne, Bess Motta, & Denise Austin.

Here in MA -- I THINK on PBS (Boston) there was Maggie. But I think that was in the 1970's.( maybe even early 70s) She was a SKINNY thing. She wore one piece leotards & had longer hair....almost 1960's hippy, long straight hair & I think some grey in it.

I'm thinking Mike Douglas talk show era. (Yes, I'm showing my age.)

Dang! You made me remember Mike Douglas and then I thought of coming home from school and watching Dinah Shore.

I really am old!

I remember one that had 3 or 4 people on it, guys and girls. The girls wore outfits like Olivia Newton Johns in her "Physical" video. (Leotards, leg warmers and head bands.) The guys had on t-shirts and really short shorts. I think they did the same excercises but at different intensity levels. My mind is a bit fuzzy cause it was so long ago.

I remember we all made jokes about the phrase "feel the burn" that came along with the shows.

The blonde Susan, was Susan Powter (sp?) she had the really short almost shaved bleach blonde hair. I wonder what she looks like now?

:20 Minute Workout, maybe ??

Was it Charleen? She was skinny and southern. I remember their were two other people working out in the background.

I used to work out to her show all the time and I even bought the video.

This is who I was thinking. I think her last name was Pritchet or something like that. Where I lived she came on after Richard Simmons. I liked her exercise program.

ETA: The name of her show was called It Figures.

I was thinking Body Electric. I used to tape those shows. They really worked for me!

Are you sure this wasn't Richard Simmons? ;)

I DO remember the 20 minute workout...the "Baywatch" of exercise shows.

There used to be this show that came on here called "Beverly Exercise". Was kind of like the Church Lady doing a exercise program complete with very modest workout clothes.

I am thinking Charlene Prickett?
